Kingold Jewelry Announces Opening of Showroom and Distribution Center in Beijing
WUHAN, China, May 19, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Kingold Jewelry, Inc. ("Kingold" or the "Company") (NASDAQ: KGJI), a leading Chinese manufacturer and designer of 24-karat gold jewelry and ornaments, today announced that the Company opened a new showroom and distribution center in Beijing on May 18, 2011. Â The launch of the Beijing showroom and distribution center represents a key milestone in the Company''s strategy to expand its footprint in Northern China, and enables Kingold to better serve new and existing customers in the region. Â The showroom and distribution center''s opening ceremony was attended by over 100 of the Company''s customers, including several major regional wholesalers and the regional heads of China MerchantsBank Limited and Bank of Communications Co., Ltd.
"We are very pleased to announce the opening of our new showroom and distribution center in Beijing, which will serve as a hub for our distribution and marketing activities in Northern China," said Mr. Zhihong Jia, Chairman and CEO of Kingold. "We believe that having a physical presence in Beijing will strengthen our existing customer relationships and improve our ability to attract new customers in the region. Â In our view, this new location greatly complements our recently launched distribution center in Shenzhen, in Southern China, as well as our headquarters in Wuhan in Central China. Â We intend to maintain all of our design and manufacturing operations in Wuhan in order to benefit from Central China''s relatively low labor costs, but will continue to evaluate the possibility of expanding our distribution presence in other regions as we seek to consolidate our leadership position in the market."

Seeking Alpha:
Kingold Jewelry (KGJI): This is an interesting stock. It’s a Chinese jeweler that has been caught up in the negative reverse merger news. However, I’ve only seen one piece of evidence that groups Kingold Jewelry with potential trouble. There is a good chance that the stock has sold off for reasons not specific to the company. I’ve just come across the name, though, so I welcome any information from investors who have followed the stock more closely. The stock went public in the U.S. in August last year and has dropped from $8 to below $2. If it is legit, it’s trading at only three times earnings and nearly 20% below its stated cash and inventory with no debt.
CEO Hong Jia Zhi is attempting to soothe investor concerns by making a large purchase of company stock. From June 8 through July 6, he bought 200,000 shares between $1.43 and $1.78. The company also issued an open letter to shareholders in early May. The stock is off 20% since then. It’s inevitable that some legitimate Chinese RTO companies are not risky. If you haven’t been completely scared away from the space, you might be interested in doing some extensive research on this one. Please contact me with what you find.

Quartal 2013 will ich mal sehen.
