Ahold share buyback update

Amsterdam, the Netherlands - February 14, 2011 - Ahold has repurchased
1,944,853 Ahold common shares in the period from February, 7, 2011 up to and
including February, 11, 2011. The shares were repurchased at an average price of
EUR 9.8016 per share for a total consideration of EUR 19.06 million. These
repurchases were made as part of the EUR 500 million share buyback program
announced on March 4, 2010.

The total number of shares repurchased under this program to date is 48,435,654
common shares for a total consideration of EUR 481.1 million.
