SKADDEN HIRES LEADING GERMAN TAX PARTNER AND APPOINTS DR. BERND MAYER AS
GERMAN PRACTICE LEADER

FRANKFURT, October 8, 2012 - Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP is
pleased to announce that Johannes Frey will join the firm as a partner in
the German tax practice. Mr. Frey brings significant experience in all
types of corporate tax matters, including acquisitions, spin-offs, joint
ventures, restructurings, and transactions involving cross-border tax
planning.

Mr. Frey is listed as a leading lawyer in JUVE Wirtschaftskanzleien,
Chambers Global and Chambers Europe. His arrival follows that of highly
lauded capital markets partners Stephan Hutter and Katja Kaulamo, who
joined the firm´s German practice earlier in 2012 to enhance its capital
markets and finance practices across Europe, with a focus on Germany,
Austria, Switzerland and the Nordic region.

Skadden´s European partner in charge Bruce Buck said, ´Johannes is very
well connected in the marketplace, and his broad skill-set will
significantly strengthen our existing client offering in Germany.´

In addition, partner Dr. Bernd Mayer has been appointed as Skadden´s German
practice leader, succeeding partner Hilary Foulkes, who has relocated to
the firm´s London office. Dr. Mayer has extensive experience advising
clients on corporate transactions, corporate governance and investigations.
He played a leading role in Daimler AG´s FCPA settlement with U.S.
authorities.
