PVA TePla and German Aerospace Center Enter Strategic Innovation
Partnership
16.07.2014 / 09:00
---------------------------------------------------------------------
To help boost its innovative strength, PVA TePla AG and the German
Aerospace Center - a research and development facility specializing in
space, aeronautics, energy, transport and security in Germany - have
entered a partnership aimed at identifying and working on common innovation
projects.
In particular, the projects will also benefit from the specialist knowhow
of both partners and, if necessary, existing knowhow will be made available
on a licensed basis. With this technology transfer, the German Aerospace
Center is thus fulfilling its mandate of sharing findings gleaned from
publicly funded research and development work with small and medium-sized
high-tech companies in Germany.
Dr. Rolf-Dieter Fischer, head of technology marketing for the German
Aerospace Center, and Peter Abel, CEO of PVA TePla, see diverse
opportunities for integrating German Aerospace Center technology and R&D
capacity with the high-tech process systems at PVA TePla, particularly in
the fields of material and surface technology for aeronautical and vehicle
engineering.
"We will orient our joint development activities systematically in line
with the needs of our global customers, which manufacture high-quality
materials," stressed Abel. Dr. Fischer confirmed this intent: "Globally
active small and medium-sized mechanical and plant engineering companies
are of huge importance for jobs in Germany. The German Aerospace Center can
support small and medium-sized companies and, in turn, boost their
international competitiveness by making available the research and
development findings that are constantly emerging at its 16 sites in
Germany."
Dr. Udo Broich, managing director of PVA Löt- und Werkstofftechnik GmbH,
will act as PVA TePla's representative in this partnership and head the
internal working group for the different topics.
