Ad hoc Notification Pursuant to § 15 of the German Securities Trading Act
(WpHG)

London, 20 August 2014 - Air Berlin PLC has realized a group revenue of EUR
1.146 billion in the second quarter of 2014 as compared to EUR 1.114
billion in the second quarter of 2013.

The operating result (EBIT) amounts to EUR -6.9 million in the second
quarter of the current year as compared to EUR -8.1 million in the prior
year's quarter.

Compared to the same quarter of the previous year, EBITDAR decreased from
EUR 166.4 million to EUR 152.0 million. The financial result amounted to
EUR 9.5 million as compared to EUR -17.7 million in the previous year.

Pre-tax earnings in the second quarter 2014 amounted to EUR 2.6 million
after EUR -25.2 million in the same quarter of the previous year. The net
result for the second quarter 2014 amounts to EUR 8.6 million after EUR
-38.0 million in the second quarter of 2013. Earnings per share in the
reporting period based on an average number of 116,800,508 shares
outstanding amounts to undiluted EUR 0.07 compared to EUR -0.33 in the
previous year and diluted EUR 0.03 compared to EUR -0.33 in the previous
year.

As of 30 June 2014, Air Berlin's total assets amounted to EUR 2,320.1
million (31 December 2013: EUR 1,885.5 million), its total equity amounted
to EUR -270.5 million (31 December 2013: EUR -186.1 million) and its net
debt amounted to EUR 707.7 million (31 December 2013: EUR 796.0 million).
