Frankfurt - Following the change of the group's name into FinTech Group AG,
the company is continuing to become the leading financial services
technology company in Europe by expanding its management team with three
high-profiled banking specialists.
Frank Niehage (46) has been appointed as new CEO of the group and
simultaneously the CEO of subsidiary AKTIONAERSBANK. Frank has vast
experience across all segments of retail and commercial banking, having
previously been Managing Director at Goldman Sachs until August 2014, where
he oversaw the bank's German wealth management business. In previous
positions, he was instrumental in the growth of Bank Sarasin AG as CEO in
Germany. Prior to this he had served in various senior positions at
Commerzbank, Credit Suisse, UBS and international law firm Beiten
Burkhardt, both in Germany and internationally, especially in Asia. Frank
is an attorney at law in Germany and has received his Master of Laws
majoring in international economics from the University of Houston Law
Center.
Bernd Wuerfel (60), who together with Frank Niehage helped to build Bank
Sarasin in Germany as a member of its executive board from 2008 to 2013, is
to become Managing Director of AKTIONAERSBANK, to which he will bring his
many years of extensive expertise across all areas of retail and business
client banking, including financings. From his long professional career at
Credit Suisse and in the German savings bank sector
("Sparkassenorganisation"), he has decades of proven management experience.
With responsibility for Operations, Lending and Compliance, Wuerfel will
lead the bank's back-office functions ("Marktfolge").
Thomas Schmidt and Dirk Piethe, who have successfully started
AKTIONAERSBANK, are leaving the firm at their own request and will pursue
other opportunities outside the group.
Martin Korbmacher (49) shall become Chairman of the Supervisory Board of
FinTech Group AG. Martin has extensive experience and 'know how' both in
traditional banking as well as in financial services technologies. After
being global head of equities at Dresdner Kleinwort, he became investment
banking head of Germany and Austria for Credit Suisse in 2005. In mid-2011
the company is continuing to become the leading financial services
technology company in Europe by expanding its management team with three
