Duisburg/Genthin, October 1, 2014 - As the responsible court of insolvency,
the municipal court of Duisburg today accepted the request of HANSA GROUP
AG (ISIN DE0007608606, security identification number WKN 760860) dated
July 9, 2014 for the opening of self-administered insolvency proceedings
pursuant to section 270 of the German Insolvency Act (InsO).

Horst Piepenburg, attorney-at-law, was appointed as trustee. Mr. Piepenburg
had previously been appointed as provisional trustee by resolution of the
municipal court of Duisburg dated July 11, 2014.

Requests for the opening of self-administered insolvency proceedings for
other Group company subsidiaries LUHNS GmbH, WASCHMITTELWERK GENTHIN GmbH
and Chemische Fabrik WIBARCO GmbH were also accepted today.

This means that the plan of restructuring the Group can continue as
planned.
