Neustadt an der Weinstrasse, October 7, 2014. Dr. Ursula Dauth,
longstanding Press Officer of the Hornbach Group, retired from her position
at the end of September 2014. Her successor as the new Press Officer as of
October 1, 2014 is Florian Preuss.

Ursula Dauth has been responsible for the Group's press and public
relations activities since June 2000. Over the past 14 years, she was the
face of the Hornbach Group in its communications with the media and the
general public - competent, reliable, charming, and always approachable. As
Press Officer, she closely accompanied the dynamic growth at Germany's
third-largest DIY player. Alongside these activities, she also left her
personal mark on key aspects of corporate responsibility at the Hornbach
Group, especially on Hornbach's "People in Need" Foundation founded in
2002. Dr. Dauth, who holds a doctorate in humanities and is a qualified
newspaper editor, also authored the company and family chronicle "Always
Something to be Done - the Hornbach History" published on the company's
130th anniversary in 2007. Dr. Dauth will now be working as an independent
journalist and communications consultant.

Florian Preuss (38), Public Relations Director, has assumed the role of
Press Officer since October 1, 2014. A graduate in journalism, Preuss
previously worked in the Group's internal communications since 2009, where
as chief editor he was responsible for the editorial conception and content
of employee-related internal media.

The external communications fields of Investor Relations and Public
Relations (press and PR activities) have been pooled in the new "Group
Communications" department at Hornbach Holding AG.

The Group Communications and Investor Relations Director is Axel Müller
(50). A graduate in economics and trained journalist, Müller has been
Hornbach's Senior Investor Relations Manager since September 2000. As Group
Spokesman, he is responsible for all of the Group's external
communications.
