FUCHS PETROLUB awards EUR 50,000 to social projects in Mannheim

FUCHS PETROLUB awards EUR 50,000 to social projects in Mannheim
The globally active lubricants company FUCHS PETROLUB has presented its
social sponsorship award for the 15th time. With total funding of EUR
50,000 donated on October 9, 2014, children and young people, the elderly
and mentally ill people in Mannheim all benefited through selected
projects.
With EUR 7,000, the highest individual sum went to the "children's choir
and orchestra" project. Children of all ethnic backgrounds will be able to
gain basic musical knowledge and learn one or more musical instruments. The
Wohnhaus Wallstadt residential home for disabled people was awarded EUR
5,200 for the "wheelchair swing" project for performing therapeutic tasks.
Another EUR 5,000 was presented to the Projekt.Ausbildung students'
initiative for the "application box" project, which is to facilitate the
mentoring process for school pupils. EUR 5,000 was also awarded to the
"self-help group for family members of children and young people addicted
to computers/the internet" project of Caritas. The "neighborly help"
project of the Pfingstberg school obtained EUR 4,000. Here, young people
take on voluntary work, e.g. shopping for the elderly, in order to
strengthen community bonds. "Elementary music education" for supporting
children with cognitive, linguistic and social-emotional deficits was
supported with EUR 3,200. The pro-family project "Geh nicht KO" intends to
provide a source of information to protect girls and young women from
sexual violence through knockout drops. The project was assisted to the
tune of EUR 3,000. A further EUR 3,000 went to the"children's orchestra
tour" project of the TourneeOper club, which aims to inspire children for
the world of opera in a relaxed and playful atmosphere. The "addiction
advice" project of the Baden-Württembergischer Landesverband für Prävention
und Rehabiliation association obtained EUR 2,700. Furthermore, the Schule
für kranke Menschen II school was presented with an award of EUR 2,500 for
the "clinic school" project. This allows mentally ill children to be taught
during their inpatient therapy. The "clown visit" project allows elderly
people to enjoy clinic clowns at the Maria Frieden Pflegezentrum care home
- and was supported with EUR 2,400. A further EUR 2,000 was awarded to the
"Förderkreis Kinder- und Jugendpsychiatrie" support organization for
