Yesterday Sberbank of Russia (the "Bank") filed with the European General
Court an application for annulment of the Council of the European Union's
decision to include the Bank in the EU's restrictive measures (sanctions)
concerning Russia. As the matter is now to be considered by the European
Court, and in accordance with normal practice, the Bank will not be
commenting further on the application pending its final determination.
