STUART, FL--(Marketwired - December 02, 2014) - Ecosphere Technologies, Inc. (OTCQB: ESPH), a U.S. technology licensing and innovative manufacturing company, today announced that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has issued a formal Notice of Allowance for Patent # 8,858,064 which is a process patent for a portable hydrodynamic cavitation manifold assembly. This newest patented invention relates to fluid handling and, more specifically, to a portable hydrodynamic cavitation manifold for use in providing a uniform fluid mixture and non-chemical water treatment process to treat waters used during hydraulic fracturing operations.

Ecosphere's patented hydrodynamic cavitation mixing manifold is an integral part of the patented Ozonix® process that allows the thorough turbulent mixing and blending of produced and flowback waters, with other surface waters and or waters from a reserve pit prior to Ozonix® treatment. In addition to being able to blend the various surface waters with recycled produced and flowback waters, the patented hydrodynamic cavitation manifold creates hydroxyl radicals (OH-), peroxone and super oxidants that further reduce the need for liquid chemical biocides.

To date, Ecosphere's patented hydrodynamic cavitation manifold technology has been successfully used to blend fluids for approximately 300 Ozonix® well sites in Arkansas (Fayetteville Shale) with 24 Ozonix® EF10 systems that Fidelity National Environmental Solutions ("FNES") owns and operates. Furthermore, Ecosphere's hydrodynamic cavitation manifold technology has since been incorporated into all Ozonix® EF80 products that have been manufactured and deployed to the field.

Dennis McGuire, Chairman and CEO of Ecosphere Technologies, stated, "The receipt of our portable hydrodynamic cavitation manifold patent demonstrates that the U.S. Patent Office has recognized our position as being a leader in the development of Advanced Oxidation Processes (AOP) and mixing manifold technologies for use in treating and recycling various sources of water used during hydraulic fracturing operations. Prior to developing this important technology, we experienced numerous challenges and limitations with the industry standard manifold that connects various water sources to a spread of frac tanks, which prevented us from properly homogenizing fluids and reducing bacteria colonies before entering our Ozonix® process."
