TORONTO, ON--(Marketwired - December 19, 2014) - ViXS Systems Inc. (TSX: VXS), a pioneer and leader in media processing solutions, today announced that MDS Global Technologies (MDS) has placed initial production orders for ViXS' recently announced XConnex Ethernet over Coax (EoC) chipsets. MDS is a leading manufacturer of high-speed broadband networking equipment for the global service provider and hospitality markets.

For the North American market, MDS is manufacturing systems with the XConnex EoC chipset for installations at Multiple Dwelling Units (MDUs), such as apartments, in cooperation with service providers, as well as for deployment of managed IP services in the hospitality segment. Outside of North America, MDS will leverage its existing integrator and reseller channel to sell white label/ODM system solutions. MDS has begun to promote and sell these EoC products/solutions with system deliveries beginning by the end of Q1'2015.

ViXS' XConnex EoC family of chips enable high-speed broadband access and managed IP services over new or existing coaxial networks. Less than a month after launch, the XConnex EoC chipset family has received considerable global attention for its ability to help operators reduce deployment and operational costs by up to 50% through shorter installation time, reduced capital expenses, and lower maintenance costs.
