    About The YMCA d'Haiti
The YMCA was introduced in Haiti for the first time in 1966, with support from various YMCA movements in the 1970's and 80's, the YMCA of Canada and a group of Haitians proposed a YMCA to be established in Haiti in 1999. In 2001, the YMCA World Alliance and (CIDA) Canada's International Development Agency agreed to help finance the YMCA d'Haiti. In 2013 the YMCA d'Haiti achieved several milestones; served 5,000 youth and adults, built three new community centers, created an active board of directors, grew annual budget to $300,000 with local and YMCA contributions, and developed 15 partnerships with Haiti.

In 2014, the YMCA of Haiti made a giant step by inaugurating the sixth community center in Marchand Dessalines, which allows the organization to serve 7,000 youths and adults. In addition, the YMCA d'Haiti has been accepted by the World Alliance of YMCA as a full member. In 2015, we are continuing to attain the objectives as defined in our strategic plan, illustrated by the construction of a new YMCA community center in Caracol.

The YMCA d'Haiti is now well established in several different communities in the country: Port-au-Prince, Laboule, Kenscoff, Camp-Perrin, Marchand Dessalines, Croix-des-Bouquets and Caracol. Plans are being considered for Carrefour Gressier, Massé and Milot. The Goal for 2016 is to have ten community centers to serve 10,000 youth and adults around the country.
