Corporate press release
DEAG: 3 days of Rock at Schalke Veltins-Arena - Rock Festival moves
away from the Nürburgring
- METALLICA, MUSE, & KISS come to "ROCK IM REVIER"
- Advance ticket sales start April 9 at 9 am
Berlin, 2 April 2015 - DEAG Deutsche Entertainment AG (ISIN DE000A0Z23G6)
is pleased to announce that the former "Der Ring - Grüne Hölle Rock"
Festival moves away from the Nürburgring and takes place at Veltins-Arena
Schalke. METALLICA (Friday, May 29), MUSE (Saturday, May 30), KISS (Sunday,
May 31) and many, many more acts will come to the Ruhr valley (Revier) from
May 29 to 31 as "ROCK IM REVIER".
As already released, the reason for relocation of the festival is the
breach of contract by Capricorn NÜRBURGRING GmbH, the site operator and
owner, which has not participated at any time, contrary to the contractual
agreements, in the payments for artist fees and advertising measures. Full
costs - preliminary payment for artist fees included - were rather borne
completely by DEAG. In addition, the Formula 1 race that was scheduled for
late July has been withdrawn by the promoter, did not help to encourage the
trust for a positive development. DEAG, therefore, decided to terminate the
joint staging of the festival event "Der Ring - Grüne Hölle Rock" at
Nürburgring due to breach of contract by CNG (Capricorn NÜRBURGRING GmbH)
and to relocate the event to Gelsenkirchen in order to rescue the festival.
Fans of ultimate Rock can continue to look forward to a terrific rock
spectacular. ROCKAVARIA and ROCK IN VIENNA are not affected by the
development at the Nürburgring.
DEAG has secured the extremely attractive line-up with mega headliners such
as METALLICA, MUSE, and KISS, as well as many other popular acts for the
three-day event.
The Veltins-Arena at Schalke has a long tradition in rock history, with
many legendary shows featuring world reknown bands over the years, and it
enjoys an excellent reputation in the rock scene. The infrastructure is
excellent and there is a camping site nearby from where the fans will be
shuttled to the Arena.
