    MONTREAL, QC--(Marketwired - April 22, 2015) - Only a few days before over 5,000 runners take to Parc Jean-Drapeau for the Banque Scotia 21k de Montréal et 5k, in what is gearing up to be a record year for the popular event.

    Can anyone dethrone three time champion Eric Gillis as the Canadian Olympian comes to defend his title? And more importantly, can the fundraising objective of $925,000 be surpassed?

    In addition to being one of the first events to kick-start the running season in Montreal, the Banque Scotia 21k de Montréal et 5k is also a significant fundraising event, with 66 local charities such as the Fondation Sainte-Justine, Giant Steps Foundation et Fondation les petits trésors, participating in the Scotiabank Charity Challenge. Several members of the media and local personalities are also competing in a friendly media challenge to help raise awareness for the various causes.
