EULESS, TX--(Marketwired - November 06, 2015) - U.S. Concrete, Inc. (NASDAQ: USCR) announced today that its New York business unit, Ferrara Bros., received the New York City Concrete Industry Board ("CIB") Annual Award for its work on the 432 Park Avenue building, the tallest residential tower in the Western Hemisphere. The Award was presented at the CIB's 54th annual awards event on November 4th.

Ferrara Bros. placed the concrete for the first high-strength, white-concrete superstructure in New York City. Towering to 1,397-feet tall, 432 Park Avenue also includes retail and office space. Ferrara Bros.' quality control laboratory, Aggregate & Concrete Testing, LLC, designed a self-consolidating ready-mixed concrete with white cement that met strict performance specifications.

"The feat of designing and delivering such a complicated, high-performance concrete is quite an accomplishment," said William J. Sandbrook, U.S. Concrete President and CEO. "Ferrara Bros., and their laboratory, are very deserving of this prestigious honor and I take great pride in congratulating them."

Ferrara Bros. worked with its customer, Roger & Sons Concrete, Inc., to place the concrete. The project was developed by the joint venture of CIM Group and Macklowe Properties, Inc. The executive architect, SLCE Architects, LLP, working with design architect, Rafael Viñoly Architects, and structural engineer, WSP Cantor Seinuk, created the latest iconic symbol in the famous skyline dotted with icons.

This is the third time in the past four years that U.S. Concrete companies have earned CIB's Annual Award for their role in supplying ready-mixed concrete. Past projects include One World Trade Center, formerly known as Freedom Tower, and the World Trade Center Transportation Hub Transit Hall, two of New York City's bold, new landmarks in lower Manhattan.
