Zug / Gwangju, South Korea, 12 February 2016 - iQ Power Licensing AG (ISIN: CH0268536338; WKN/Security Number: A14M1C; Symbol: IQL) a developer and marketer of technologies for environmentally friendly and technologically innovative starter batteries for motor vehicles and licenses in these technologies, announces the successful series production of commercial vehicle batteries at its Korean license partner iQ Power Asia Inc.

Most popular size in North American market iQ Power Asia (IQPA) announces the production of batteries featuring iQ Power technology for truck and heavy duty vehicles. The model, known as Group 31, is the standard battery used in all modern trucks in North America. Tens of millions of this model are sold annually, because the trucks use a multiple number of the batteries per vehicle.

The iQ Power technology is especially good for truck and heavy duty vehicles because the battery often must service many electrically powered devices and motors in idle or motor-off mode. This deep discharge accelerates the acid stratification. iQ Power technology effectively eliminates the stratification, thus extending the battery life more than twice.

Discover Energy will distribute the battery to many of the largest battery wholesalers and distributors in the North American market. Several of the distributors have placed standing orders for monthly deliveries.

Over the course of 2016, iQ Power will also introduce commercial vehicle truck batteries with iQ Power Technology in the Asian JIS and European DIN standard sizes. iQ Power Asia has just finished this month increasing the passenger car product line from 9 to 35 different models. Following the commercial vehicles, even more models will be developed for specialty markets. By becoming a full product line supplier, IQ Power Asia will be able to more quickly increase sales.

Batteries with iQ Power technology are designed to generate better performance in Start-Stop applications and to meet the growing demands of electronic usage in vehicles today. Electrolyte mixing is the first significant innovation to the flooded starter battery in decades. Automatic mixing of electrolyte inside the battery ensures uniform acid density for higher sustained performance throughout the entire life of the battery. This prolongs plate life by eliminating acid stratification and thermal gradients, delivering greater material utilization for a lower cost per cycle over conventional batteries. The patented technology was awarded the coveted Automechanika innovation award 1st prize in 2010.
