- Berlin-based investment company acquires 10% of shares
- Web platform rewards fans, strengthens star image, and boosts brands
- High growth potential through scalable, international business model
- Interim financing round values company at EUR 27 million
Berlin - Following its recent investment into OptioPay, a ground-breaking
financial service provider which has been attracting wide industry
attention, Auden AG has now acquired a 10 per cent shareholding in yet
another value-driving portfolio company: Fanmiles, the web platform for
stars and their fans. Already earlier this year, several renowned stars
from the sporting world invested into this innovative start-up venture,
tailoring social networking to major sports and entertainment stars and
their loyal fans. Auden AG acquired its ownership stake through an interim
financing round which placed a valuation of EUR 27 million on the company.
The Fanmiles platform rewards the many fans of top football players, music
stars and popular television series for the time they invest in social
networks and other internet vehicles with virtual "Fanmiles". These
registered users can then convert the Fanmiles they collect into valuable
premiums of special interest to fans, which would otherwise have to be
purchased or which are exclusively available on Fanmiles.com. These
premiums range, for example, from movie tickets to jerseys worn by major
football stars. As the only web platform of its kind worldwide, Fanmiles
offers brands a unique opportunity to specifically target their marketing
budgets directly on fan communities rather than general advertising media,
thereby enabling direct interactions with these loyal and enthusiastic
fans.
The objective of Fanmiles is to grow into a truly global social media
platform. Founded in 2013 by German technology entrepreneurs Alan Sternberg
and Fabian Schmidt, the company has since gained an increasingly high
profile as it has brought big-name German football stars like Marco Reus on
board, going on to gain even more attention during the excitement of the
recent UEFA Euro 2016 football championship and signing up further key
players on the German national team as Fanmiles stars. With its app for
smartphones, Fanmiles makes it easy for interested new fans to join the
