103  0 Kommentare Ericsson selected by Guangdong Mobile to build IP Virtual Private Network in China

Under the contract with Guangdong Mobile Communications (GMCC),
Ericsson will provide its pre-tested and verified Packet Backbone
Network (PBN) Solution. Ericsson´s AXI 520 series IP Backbone Routers
(based on Juniper Networks M20 & M10 Internet routers) will be
deployed in nine cities of Guangdong province, including Guangzhou,
Shenzhen, Zhuhai, and Dongguan. Implementation of the project has
begun, and completion is planned for end of August 2002.

Ericsson will build a Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) -based
Virtual Private Network (VPN) onto GMCC´s existing provincial
backbone network. Upon completion of the project, GMCC will be able
to offer highly secure, MPLS-based VPN services to its customers.

As an end-to-end solution provider, Ericsson will also provide
extensive customer service, covering consultation, system
integration, technical support, training, and after-sale services.

In February 2001, Ericsson provided GMCC with AXI 580 and AXI 520 IP
Backbone Routers to build GMCC´s provincial backbone network
connecting 22 cities of Guangdong province. The current MPLS-VPN
project is an expansion to this provincial network project.

"This second project with GMCC further strengthens our two companies´
relationship following the construction of GMCC´s provincial backbone
network last year, " said Mr. Jan Malm, President of Ericsson China.
"Further, it demonstrates Ericsson´s ability and competence in
delivering comprehensive, high-end IP datacom solutions to
    operators."

The Ericsson AXI 520 and 580 IP backbone routers are built to deliver
highly reliable, scalable, and cost-efficient IP services across
high-speed networks. Based on leading edge ASIC technology, and
incorporating consistent Juniper Networks JUNOS Internet Software
throughout the network, these routers help service providers and
carriers lower their capital and operational costs by simplifying
rollout and support. This accelerates the time it takes to design,
test, and deploy the network, and provision new IP services.

Ericsson is shaping the future of Mobile and Broadband Internet
communication through its continuous technology leadership. Providing
innovative solutions in more than 140 countries, Ericsson is helping
to create the most powerful communication companies in the world.
