Maintal, 1 March 2012 - The transformation from the previous classic
service provider to an MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) which began
in the fourth quarter of 2010 led to a solid improvement in results in
fiscal year 2011 which has just ended, including significantly greater room
for manoeuvring with respect to products and sales.
During the fiscal year just ended, Drillisch AG (ISIN DE 0005545503)
substantially improved its profitability and created additional value for
customers by offering innovative products which have regularly emerged as
the winners in tests conducted by impartial institutions.
Positive development in numbers of subscribers and revenue
With 2.550 million subscribers (2010: 2.431 million), total revenue of
EUR349.1 million (2010: EUR362.5 million) was realised. Mainly responsible
for this decline of EUR13.4 million was a decline of EUR39 million in the
less profitable revenue segment of handsets and prepaid bundles. In
contrast, we realised an increase in the higher-value service revenue of
9.2% or EUR25.6 million to EUR303.1 million (2010: EUR277.5 million)
The number of postpaid subscribers, the segment with higher-value,
increased by 27.0% to 1.512 million in the year-on-year comparison. The
ratio of postpaid to prepaid subscribers improved to 59% to 41% (2010: 49%
to 51%).
High EBITDA sets a new record and exceeds the forecast:
In fiscal year 2011, the EBITDA, when adjusted for special factors, rose by
EUR3.3 million to EUR52.6 million, exceeding the excellent value of the
previous year by 6.7%. Gross profit improved by EUR14.4 million or 16.2% to
EUR102.8 million (2010: EUR88.4m). The gross profit margin increased by 5.0
percentage points to 29.4% (previous year: 24.4%).
Consolidated profits and eps clearly improved double-digit
Consolidated profits increased by 35.7% in 2011 to reach EUR42.0 million
(2010: EUR31.0 million) so that eps improved by 36.0% to EUR0.79 per sahre
(2010: EUR0.58 per share)
Outlook 2012
EBITDA to grow by another 10% to approximately EUR58 million in 2012
Thanks to our strong brands and attractive products, we will profit from
