AMG announces Management Change
Amsterdam, 29 March 2012 (Regulated Information) --- AMG Advanced Metallurgical
Group N.V. ("AMG", EURONEXT AMSTERDAM: "AMG") announces that it has appointed
Mr. Hoy Frakes as President of AMG Mining. Mr. Frakes will focus initially on
improving mining operational efficiencies at AMG´s existing antimony and
tantalum mines.
Mr. Frakes joined AMG in 2000 and his latest leadership role was as President of
AMG Vanadium, Inc. At AMG Vanadium, Mr. Frakes was responsible for building the
Ohio metallurgical facility into the industry leading recycler of spent
catalysts for the production of ferrovanadium and ferronickel-molybdenum. Mr.
Frakes holds a Bachelor of Science in Metallurgical Engineering from the
Colorado School of Mines and a MBA from the University of Colorado.
As AMG is focused on organic growth and acquisitions in businesses related to
core activities, Mr. Gareth Penny, the initial Chief Executive Officer of AMG
Mining will be leaving to pursue other interests. Dr. Heinz Schimmelbusch,
AMG´s Chairman of the Management Board and CEO, said "I would like to thank
Gareth for his considerable contribution to the mine based businesses of AMG and
for his guidance and expertise in positioning AMG Mining for future growth."
