Leverkusen, Germany, 27 February 2014 - As of today the hair tonic Belixos^® LIQUID, an intensive care for itchy, scaly and greasy scalp, is commercially available. It represents the second product in the Belixos^® cosmetic line and will be sold in pharmacies and on Biofrontera's Belixos^® web shop (http://www.belixos.com/shop.html).

The new Belixos^® LIQUID combines extracts of anti-inflammatory mahonia aquifolium and soothing oat with herbal biocolloids. It effectively relieves itching and redness, similar to Belixos^® creme. Furthermore, the combination of urea and salicylic acid frees the skin of dandruff and the well tolerated Zinc-PCA complex regulates sebum production.

This novel combination of active ingredients penetrates rapidly, aided by Biofrontera's proprietary biocolloid technology, and spreads throughout the epidermis, providing the ingredient's soothing and regenerating effects. The epidermis is particularly sensitive and accessible to external influences, and bringing it back to equilibrium will provide perfect care to the scalp.

Prior to the launch a user inquiry has been performed by the journal 'Aesthetic Dermatology'. Ten probands and a hairdressing salon tested the innovative hair tonic. They readily described the positive effects on the scalp and emphasized the almost immediate relieve from itching. Belixos^® LIQUID was very well tolerated and described as highly yielding.

In addition to the social media presentation Belixos^® LIQUID is shown to an expert audience at the DDG Kompakt 2014, this weekend in Hamburg, one of Germany's largest dermatology congresses.
