SANTA CLARA, CA--(Marketwired - Apr 28, 2014) - Appnomic Systems, a leading provider of innovative analytics software for IT application operations (ITOA), today announced its leadership role in the Open Data Center Alliance's Proof of Concept (PoC): Enterprise Cloud Service Quality with ODCA member, Intel Corporation®, as well as other ODCA Steering Group member companies. ODCA, the global organization where members work together to advance the deployment of enterprise cloud solutions and services that are interoperable, secure and free of vendor lock-in, also today, released its white paper highlighting the results of the PoC.

ODCA's latest proof of concept provides a method for evaluating different Compute Infrastructure as a Service (CIaaS) providers including internal enterprise operations. The framework shows how enterprises can compare multiple CIaaS providers to evaluate quality of service, deliver better end-user experiences, enhance overall cloud operations and increase their return on investment. The platforms included in this study are public cloud services from Amazon Web Services and Rackspace, along with a private cloud platform within one of the ODCA Steering Group company's technical operations. A partial list of the ODCA Steering Group Level Companies is provided below. This PoC also proposes the adoption of an industry-wide "Cloud Facts" label, similar in concept to the nutrition facts label in the food industry.

"Enterprise buyers and users of cloud services in today's cloud-computing marketplace can have a difficult time evaluating and comparing performance across service providers," said Ray Solnik, president of Appnomic Systems, Inc. "A lack of standard units of measurement and a common framework for assessing vendor services makes it more difficult to gauge the reliability of cloud services. While CIaaS companies currently provide a great deal of information, the manner in which the information is presented and the lack measurement standards vary is inhibiting market growth. The findings of this POC provide ways for enterprises and service providers to improve the state of the industry in ways that can accelerate cloud services growth."
