Grammer Invests in Railway Segment - New Modular Seating Concept to Be
Presented at Innotrans
Amberg / September 17, 2014 - At Innotrans 2014, the major international
transportation trade show, Grammer will present newly developed
platform-based seating systems, called R3000 and H3000, for regional and
high-speed trains. Besides passenger seats, Grammer will also exhibit a new
range of train driver seats. The new seat concepts are the result of the
Grammer Group's decision to actively tap growth opportunities in the market
for rail seats by introducing new products.
The R3000 platform system combines high functionality with great
adaptability, thanks to its modular design. It has rapidly become a sales
hit, validating the company's strategic decision to continue investing in
product development for the rail market. The first sales were closed in the
first half of 2014 directly after the system's market launch. The new rail
seat platform is manufactured by Grammer Railway Interior GmbH. This
subsidiary of the Grammer Group has added it to its existing portfolio of
passenger and driver seats for local, regional and high-speed trains.
"The new system excels by complying with the latest European and British
safety standards, but that's not all. The platform can also be very
flexibly adapted to meet special customer wishes - by modifying the design
of the headrest, changing the backrest type, or adding any of a long list
of possible features. The R3000 is a highly functional, extremely variable
all-round system," says Daniel Gradl, Managing Director of Grammer Railway
Interior GmbH.
