Brilon, October 31, 2014: according to provisional calculations CENTROTEC
Sustainable AG, Brilon, generated revenue of EUR 146.3 million and an
operating result before interest and taxes (EBIT) of EUR 14.7 million in
the third quarter of 2014, representing a slight drop compared with the
figures for the same period of the previous year (revenue EUR 147.1
million, EBIT 15.2 million). Revenue for the first nine months of the year
came to EUR 390.5 million (previous year EUR 383.0 million), and the
operating result (EBIT) to EUR 20.3 million (previous year EUR 22.2
million).
The main reason for the subdued business performance is the general
weakening of Germany's economy, which is reflected in a noticeable slowdown
in the sales market for heating systems since the start of the third
quarter. International markets, too, are currently exhibiting no positive
momentum whatsoever: the market conditions in France, the Netherlands,
Italy and Spain remain cyclically weak. Austria and Eastern European
markets are being adversely affected by the crisis in Russia and Ukraine.
Nor is any clear change in trend expected until the end of the year.
Against this backdrop and taking account of the record result posted in the
fourth quarter of the previous year, CENTROTEC will be unable to improve on
its prior-year EBIT. For the full year, CENTROTEC now anticipates that EBIT
will lie between EUR 32 and 34 million (previously EUR 36 to 38 million).
Revenue is expected to come in at the lower end of the guidance (EUR 525 to
550 million).
