Based on the AMD GX-210HA dual-core processor, Gizmo 2 is more powerful than its predecessor, coupling a 1.0 GHz CPU and 300 MHz GPU while only drawing 9 watts TDP on a compact, 4-inch by 4-inch board. Gizmo 2 is one of the highest performing development boards available with 85 GFLOPS performance, ideal for those looking to supplement or replace entry-level platforms. Founded on an open source, community-based ecosystem, Gizmo 2 hardware schematics, Gerber format files and bill-of-materials (BOM) will be open-sourced to the GizmoSphere and Element14 community for those looking to design and build a custom board.

Features of the Gizmo 2 board include:

    • HDMI video/audio output
    • 1 GB DDR3-1600 memory
    • HD audio in/out
    • mSATA/mini PCIe Connector
    • microSD card slot
    • Onboard Gigabit Ethernet
    • USB 3 (2) and 2 (2) connectors
    • Support for DirectX® 11.1, OpenGL 4.2x and OpenCL™ 1.2, enabling parallel processing
    • Error-Correction Code (ECC) memory support

The board is available worldwide for $199 (USD) through GizmoSphere and the Element14 community. GizmoSphere provides community forums for developers to find and share information on Gizmo 2, plus examples and tips on development projects.
