Award Winner: FutureE receives Innovation Award of the state of
Baden-Württemberg for its Jupiter fuel cell system
Berlin/Stuttgart, 16 December 2014 - Beginning of December the German fuel
cell specialist FutureE Fuel Cell Solutions GmbH (WKN A1MMHE), which was
acquired by Heliocentris Energy Solutions AG in June this year, has been
awarded for their outstanding fuel cell systems for power supply.
Since 1985 the Innovation Award of the state of Baden-Württemberg, the Dr.
Rudolf Eberle-Award, is given to medium-sized companies from industry,
trade and technological services. The price is awarded to product and
process innovations as well as innovative technology-oriented services,
which already demonstrated a first market success.
Dr. Henrik Colell, Executive Board member of Heliocentris Energy Solutions
AG, said: "We are very proud of the integration of FutureE as a fuel cell
specialist into our group, which could convince a jury of their system from
over 60 applications in one of Europe's most innovative regions through
technical progress, exceptional entrepreneurial performance and sustainable
economic success."
The award went to the development of the Jupiter fuel cell system for
emergency power supply. Especially during the operation of mobile phone
networks or digital public radio communications, so-called critical
infrastructures, the continuous availability of power is a must. Power
outages can quickly have disastrous consequences. So far, large battery
banks and diesel generators for emergency power supply were mostly used.
Bettina Drehmann, Mark-Uwe Osswald and Siegfried Limmer, founders of
FutureE Fuel Cell Solutions GmbH received the award on 1 December 2014 in
Ludwigsburg Palace and added:
"We are very happy and thank the jury for this prestigious award. Fuel cell
systems are a reliable, environmentally friendly and, from an operational
standpoint, a more cost-effective alternative. They are also ideal for use
in combination with renewable energy carriers such as solar and wind. Due
to the modular design of our Jupiter fuel cell systems they can be used
anywhere as an environmentally friendly alternative. Among other things,
they stand out thanks to their efficiency and zero emissions and are also
