Advantech Joins Wind River Titanium Cloud Program

BARCELONA, SPAIN--(Marketwired - March 02, 2015) - Mobile World Congress - Advantech (TWSE: 2395) today announced that it has joined the Wind River Titanium Cloud ecosystem providing next generation server and appliance products for Networks Functions Virtualization (NFV). Advantech will offer a range of commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) systems pre-validated with the Wind River Titanium Server NFV infrastructure solution to telecom service providers who require flexible, scalable and highly-available carrier-grade platforms to build greater robustness into telecom cloud infrastructures.

The first systems to be pre-validated include Advantech's CGS-6000 high performance Carrier-Grade Server product line based on the latest Intel® Xeon® Processor E5-2600 v3 with support for the company's new, NEBS-ready Packetarium™ XL scale-out platform to be available later this year.

The CGS-6010 maximizes processing performance with high-density, high throughput PCIe I/O and offload on adapters from Advantech and qualified ecosystem suppliers. It targets equipment manufacturers and providers who need flexible and reliable carrier-grade computer systems for maximum uptime with best-in-class combination of compute, networking and offload capabilities. The platform also incorporates the Intel® DH8950 chipset formerly codenamed "Coleto Creek" with on-chip Intel® QuickAssist acceleration of encryption and compression algorithms. Six PCIe x8 slots take advantage of the processors' integrated PCIe Gen 3 lanes enabling faster paths to I/O and additional offload expansion.
