Heek, March 24, 2015 - 2G Energy AG (ISIN DE000A0HL8N9), a leading German
manufacturer of cogeneration (CHP) systems, has been awarded a contract by
Münster-based BASF Coatings GmbH for the installation of a complete
cogeneration plant (CHP power plant) powered by natural gas with an
electrical output of 4.4 MW. The electricity generated by the CHP power
plant will be fed into the BASF site grid via a 10 KV medium voltage
facility and the waste heat generated of around 4.0 MW into the site's own
local heat network for heating purposes.
The BASF contract is one of a series of larger orders placed by prestigious
companies from the producing and the food industries, as well by utilities
companies that can refer to reference projects already installed. In recent
months, the demand for 2G power plants fueled by natural gas, as well as
the number of contracts signed have increased significantly. Companies are
opting to upgrade their supply of energy. In these endeavors, the use of
waste heat for heating or production processes or the conversion into
cooling through absorber technology, plays a key role. In this way,
industrial enterprises leverage the efficiency advantages of the 2G CHP
power plants in their existing energy infrastructure, thereby instantly
achieving a high level of cost efficiency.
Companies placing orders for 2G systems include, for instance, Enercon GmbH
in Aurich, one of the leading technological producers of wind turbines, a
well-known manufacturer of LEDs, fruit juice producer Albi GmbH & Co. KG in
Berghülen, and other companies from the food and capital goods industries.
