SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - Mar 30, 2015) - The 2015 Bay Area MakerCon, the conference by Makers for Makers, at the Palace of Fine Arts, May 12-13, promises to be another content packed program with just the stuff that Maker Pros pine for: access to leaders at the forefront of the Maker Movement, advice from their peers who have successfully made the transition from hobbyist to entrepreneur, and the opportunity to showcase their hardware products to potential investors, incubators, and partners to take their ideas to the next level. What's more: attendees at the 2015 Bay Area event will also get to peer into the future of emerging trends like biohacking, drones, and wearables -- technologies with the potential to not only enhance everyday lifestyles, but significantly improve the quality of lives around the globe.

    Leaders of the Maker Movement
Futurist Paul Saffo joins an all-star lineup of speakers, including Chris Anderson, CEO and founder of drones company, 3D Robotics; Yobie Benjamin, Silicon Valley serial entrepreneur and co-founder of Avegant; Eben Upton, head of the Raspberry Pi Foundation; and Massimo Banzi, co-founder of the Arduino Project; who are creating new market categories, launching new tools and applications, and disrupting traditional business practices, starting with product development.

"From distributed manufacturing to user centered design, Makers and Maker-driven companies are shaking things up and changing mindsets about how business gets done," said Dale Dougherty, founder and executive chairman of Maker Media, Inc., parent company of Make: magazine and the global Maker Faire network. "MakerCon is about what's possible today, but also about what we can expect tomorrow. Keynote speakers with thoughtful insights into future tech, or who have advanced the current state of the art, such as Paul Saffo, or Yobie Benjamin who has developed a next generation wearable device with his Avegant Glyph, will jumpstart important conversations at MakerCon."

Over the course of the two days, individuals at the forefront of the Maker Movement, including experts in digital manufacturing; technology and tool providers; incubators and accelerators that facilitate taking products to market; and Maker Pros, will connect during 50+ sessions focusing on the "Business of Making," "Tools of Innovation and Technology" and "Future Tech, Now."
