Monolith Software AssureNow Platform Extended to Assure Services in Virtual Environments and for the Internet of Things

FRISCO, TX--(Marketwired - May 27, 2015) - Monolith Software, the leading provider of next generation, unified service assurance solutions, today announced enhancements to its AssureNow™ service assurance solution to assure services in virtual and hybrid environments as well as the Internet of Things (IoT). AssureNow reduces operations costs and assures delivery of traditional and virtualized services while increasing customer experience.

Operators are embracing virtualization as they transform their businesses to be more cost-effective and agile. Yet they are challenged by the complexity of managing dynamic Network Functions Virtualization (NFV), Software Defined Networks (SDN), and Cloud networks and services that are chained from virtual elements. Their strategies also include the Internet of Things (IoT), which is not only dynamic but also requires capturing data from millions of devices and then moving beyond the noise of big data to actionable insights that will sustain high levels of customer service.

• IoT Scalability -- The number of metrics gathered from devices is growing rapidly and will escalate with IoT. Monolith has expanded its scale-out collection architecture to manage and enrich terabytes of metrics data. The installation grows with the customer and can be easily extended without interrupting the real-time collection process.

• Real-time Topology -- Key to customer and service assurance is the ability to quickly see the connections between services, customers, and business processes and the underlying protocols, applications, devices, and interfaces being used by that specific customer or service. AssureNow's topology management capability shows these objects and all the relationships between them. Service level management takes this a step further and provides Key Quality Indicator (KQI) metrics from product- and business-centric views.

• Data Flow Analysis -- The need to analyze traffic patterns and diagnose issues is more critical than ever with the growth of network traffic, cloud services, and mobile applications. AssureNow enables operators to visualize and understand the data passing through their networks by leveraging prominent flow technologies such as Netflow, IPFIX, and sFlow.

• Interface to Fulfillment and Activation Systems -- To close the loop between service assurance and fulfillment and activation systems, AssureNow has implemented a new API following Representational State Transfer (REST) principles. This simplifies and reduces the cost of integration with provisioning or configuration management systems. As services are deployed or changed, the API can be utilized to "flow through" those changes to the AssureNow product. Services are not disrupted and monitoring adapts automatically. Every aspect of product configuration is handled with API calls that support multi-tenancy, validation, auditing, and control.

AssureNow 4.0's new packaging technology enables Monolith to provide rapid feature releases and on-line product updates with minimal system disruption. Customers and partners can also use the technology to create and manage their own AssureNow extensions and customizations.
