gamigo successfully expands market position with the top game "The Rats"
- "The Rats" exceeds all expectations
- Acquisition of INTENIUM opens up additional opportunities in Eastern
Europe
- Further growth planned
Hamburg, 28 May, 2015 - gamigo group, a leading international gaming
company, has successfully driven its market penetration with "The Rats".
Just a few months after entering the market by acquiring the Russian
version of the top game "Last Chaos" with more than 1 million game
accounts, the gamigo group has further expanded its position on the market
with "The Rats". This game is currently one of the most sought-after games
in the largest Russian social networks. In the space of just two and a half
months, more than 2.4 million players have registered for the online game
in Russia, with more than 1 million new players registering in the past
four days alone. This means that the game has significantly exceeded
expectations, in particular as an increasing number of high-reach networks
are supporting the cross-platform game (online, social networks, iOS,
Android). We can also see that the technical platform is driving growth
with peaks of up to approx. 500,000 new registrations per day.
gamigo is continuing to implement its step-by-step strategy to penetrate
new markets with "The Rats" by continuously adapting its games to the
special requirements and culture of the target region. The acquisition of
the gaming company INTENIUM in 2014 also added wind to gamigo's sails.
INTENIUM GmbH is responsible for the top game "The Rats". This company has
its own development studio in Russia and is a recognized player on the
online and mobile games market. The gamigo group is planning further growth
on the Russian market on this basis in order to reinforce the gamigo
platforms and bolster its presence as an international company.
Theodor Niehues, gamigo AG's Co-CEO, explained: "We have an excellent
position on the Russian market, and we are further expanding this position
with our successful game "The Rats". We now have a very strong presence in
the largest Russian social networks. This includes VK with around 55
million active users per month, OK with approx. 40 million and
MoyMir@Mail.Ru with 25 million active users per month. We are very
confident that we will continue to grow in future."
