Heliocentris Energy Solutions AG publishes report on HY1 2015 - Seite 2
months of the year. Along with this, the company is planning to keep fixed
costs at the same level as in the first half of the year, which should
result in a significant improvement in gross profit in the second half of
2015 if profit contributions remain positive as expected.
In the first half of the year, the total comprehensive income (loss) for
the period was EUR -10,637 thousand (previous year: EUR -5,792 thousand).
Several factors determined the total comprehensive loss. Due to delays in
acquiring new customers in the first half of 2015, no additional profit
contributions were generated compared with 2014. This was in addition to
cost increases, which were essentially due to the acquisition of FutureE
Fuel Cell Solutions GmbH (subsequently Heliocentris Fuel Cell Solutions
GmbH) and the non-recurring costs relating to the segment transformation
and restructuring of the company.
Ayad Abul-Ella, CEO of Heliocentris Energy Solutions AG, commented: "Sales
and earnings development fell short of our expectations in the first half
of the year. However, positive signs from recently acquired large-volume
orders and new customers form a good basis for a strong second half to the
year." In the first half of the year, for example, the company expanded its
customer base in the industrial business considerably. "We are especially
proud of the completion of a global framework agreement with one of the top
15 mobile network operators in the world, which represents significant
order potential in itself." In addition, the company acquired further major
orders and customers in Myanmar and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) during
the reporting period.
As at 28 August 2015, sales and order backlog combined total EUR 21.9
million and are thus EUR 7.3 million higher than in the comparative period
of the previous year and already EUR 3.0 million higher than total sales in
2014. In light of rising sales and the elimination of non-recurring
effects, the Management Board expects to see a significantly improved
result in the second half of 2015 compared with the first half of the year.
Further financial figures and the underlying details can be found in the
half-yearly financial report, which is published in the Investor Relations
section of the website at www.heliocentris.com.
