ATLANTA, GA--(Marketwired - Feb 18, 2016) - Asante International Dining Corp. (OTC PINK: AIDC)

Chef Marvin Woods has been in the restaurant/hospitality industry for more than 25 years. He is a graduate of The Academy of Culinary Arts, Atlantic Cape Community college where he received his culinary and Associates degree in business. In 2013 the school honored Woods with a lifetime achievement award.

Woods earned his early cooking stripes at some of the most prestigious and highly recognized kitchens in both New York City and at various restaurants in Europe. A few examples of such globally known restaurants include The Sea Grill at Rockefeller Center, Windows on the World in the World Trade Center, Arizona 206, Café Beulah and The National Hotel, London England. Woods was considered by many to be a trailblazer for introduction of Low Country cuisine to the market in 1984. He garnered accolades and high praise at New York's Café Beulah where he introduced this innovative spin on creative cuisine. In fact, Woods penned his first cookbook "The New Low Country Cooking" (published by Harper Collins/William Morrow) in 2000 based on this innovative approach to cuisine that he created.

Woods followed his passion for foods and techniques of international flavors by traveling to different countries and honing his skills during stints at kitchens throughout the world. These visits heavily influence his cooking style, with a strong presence of Caribbean, South American and African paired with the focus of clean, fresh and health conscious practices and ingredients creating a unique and original style that Woods calls Coastal Soul.

It's this kind of commitment and style that caught the attention of First Lady Michelle Obama in June 2010 when she selected Woods as one of the first chefs to kick off her "Let's Move!" initiative. Let's Move is a national program dedicated to educating busy families on how to prepare affordable and nutritious meals. Woods traveled the country for a year continuing to educate people on healthy cooking practices in support of the program. He augmented the First Lady's initiative by adding his "Droppin Knowledge program with Chef Marvin Woods," his program addressed the high rate of childhood obesity and other health disparities led by minorities.
