HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL--(Marketwired - Aug 3, 2015) - After several months of testing with nearly 500 pilot dealers, CDK Global, Inc. ("CDK Global" and "CDK") (NASDAQ: CDK) announced it will begin rolling out its newest product for managing data integration and syndication in October 2015. Dealer Data Exchange (DDX), designed to give dealers more visibility to their data going to manufacturers and third-party vendors, will be the first comprehensive data integration application offered by a leading DMS provider.

The base-level product will be offered at no charge to CDK dealers. It will provide a clear view of the two-way exchange of data between the DMS and third parties and OEMs, allowing dealers to monitor data movement through both certified and non-certified connections. The application stands to benefit not only dealers, but third-party solution providers and OEMs as well.

Earlier this year, DDX was unveiled at the National Automobile Dealer Association (NADA) Expo in San Francisco where dealers were invited to view a demonstration and participate in a pilot program. Over the last four months, pilot dealers have been testing DDX and providing valuable feedback on the application. "We believe data security is a shared responsibility, thus a partnership approach was essential in the development of DDX," explained Jeff Barr, Director, Solutions Strategy at CDK. "With input from dealers, OEMs and third parties, we're able to truly understand the issues facing our industry and identify the most beneficial solutions." His team has also consulted with STAR and OEM dealer technology councils in their research.

According to dealers, a key benefit of DDX is that it allows them to identify data flowing through both CDK-approved connection points as well as non-approved access methods. "It's a step in the right direction," stated Amanda Bates, Director of Business Systems with Park Place in Dallas, Texas. "With DDX, we can see who is accessing our data, and we can make better decisions about who we want to share our data with going forward." In addition, DDX has a reporting feature that will help dealers meet guidelines for data security and data safe handling.

The release of DDX will mark the first CDK product release since the announcement of CDK's SecurityFirst initiative in June. Defined as a "comprehensive approach to security," SecurityFirst encompasses four main areas: 1) industry education, 2) technical and product security enhancements, 3) the recently standardized CDK Third-Party Access Program, and 4) Dealer Data Exchange (DDX).

"Data security has become a top priority for everyone, regardless of industry, out of necessity," said Howard Gardner, Vice President and General Manager, Data Strategy at CDK. "When you see security breaches regularly making headlines, you realize the world is in a very different place. We at CDK have developed our SecurityFirst approach and designed value-added solutions such as DDX to help our clients better protect their business."
