ROK STARS SIGN MULTI-YEAR EXCLUSIVE DISTRIBUTION AGREEMENT FOR
ABK BAVARIAN BEER IN CHINA
Multi-year milestone deal will see significant volumes of ABK Beer imported
and sold in China
16th September 2014
ROK Stars, the consumer products and environmental technologies development
company, has announced its ROK Drinks division has signed an exclusive
agreement which will see the import and distribution of ABK Beer in China,
via Fujian-based drinks importer Kingboyuan Trading Co., Ltd.
The agreement will begin with immediate effect and follows recent
announcements by ROK of similar exclusive distribution deals for ABK Beer
with Denver-based C2 Imports covering the United States and with Wunderbar
Asia covering Malaysia and Singapore.
ROK Stars acquired the majority interest in the historic 700 year old
Aktien Brauerei in Kaufbeuren, Bavaria in May 2013 and has since
re-designed and re-packaged a range of beers for international export under
the brand 'ABK Beer - Since 1308'.
Commenting, Jonathan Kendrick, Chairman of ROK Stars said "This is a
milestone deal which will see significant volumes of our ABK Bavarian Beer
being imported and sold in China, where interest in and consumption of
heritage European beers is increasing dramatically. This agreement with
Kingboyuan is key to our global deployment plans for our beers which, for
the first time since the brewery was founded in 1308, are now available for
global distribution."
Joanna Zhang, Purchasing Manager of Kingboyuan said "We are delighted to
have secured the exclusive rights to the historic ABK Bavarian Beers for
China. ABK Beers are outstandingly good and they have an astonishing 700
year old history which will be of great interest to the huge number of
heritage beer fans across China."
With a fast-growing drinks portfolio which, in addition to ABK Beer,
includes Uisce Beatha Real Irish Whiskey and Bogart's Real English Gin,
amongst others, ROK Drinks was co-founded by John Paul DeJoria, known as
'America's favourite entrepreneur,' and British entrepreneur Jonathan
Kendrick. John Paul DeJoria is best known as the co-founder of Paul
Mitchell, the largest privately held hair care business in North America,
as well as being co-founder of Patron tequila, the world's Number 1 premium
tequila brand.
