Aquion Energy Introduces 24-Volt Version of Industry-Leading Aspen Battery System / Aspen 24S battery offers robust, sustainable solution for off-grid applications
Pittburg, USA (ots) - Aquion Energy, Inc., developer and
manufacturer of Aqueous Hybrid Ion (AHI(TM)) batteries and energy
storage systems, has introduced the Aspen 24S, a 24-volt version of
its award-winning Aqueous Hybrid Ion (AHI) battery.
The new product is designed for energy-intensive applications that
use solar panels, such as off-grid solar-powered LED lighting, as
well as small pumps and motors. It is also an ideal drop-in
replacement for existing systems using 24-volt lead-acid batteries.

More than 700 Aspen 24S batteries are already operating in a
demanding field environment in Thailand. In the first quarter of
2016, Aquion completed an installation at Bangkok International
Airport's Sky Lane bicycle track. The project successfully
demonstrates the 24-volt battery under real-use autonomous
conditions, connected to solar panels and energy-efficient LED
lighting. The Aspen 24S was an especially good fit for this
application's requirements because it delivers long cycle life, deep
cycling capability, and robust performance in high ambient
temperatures and partial state of charge cycling conditions.
Aspen 24S batteries are now available for purchase. See the How to
Buy (http://aquion.energy/1sEqfP8) section on the Aquion website for
more details.
Traditionally, off-grid renewable energy systems that include
energy storage have used lead-acid batteries, known for their
toxicity and relatively short lifespan under deep cycling and partial
state of charge usage - a common profile with solar-based systems.
Aquion's Aspen batteries offer a clean, sustainable, and long-lasting
alternative that does not degrade from partial state of charge
cycling. Aspen batteries have a unique and environmentally friendly
electrochemical design, and are the first and only batteries in the
world to be Cradle to Cradle Certified(TM). They contain no heavy
metals or toxic chemicals and are non-flammable and non-explosive,
making them the safest batteries in the world - designed for use in
pristine environments, island locations, homes and businesses.
Aquion at Intersolar Europe 2016
Aquion will be exhibiting at Intersolar Europe in Munich, Germany,
from June 22-24, 2016, at Booth #B1.270 ees. Scott Pearson, Chief
Executive Officer, will present on June 22 as part of the "Insights
and Experiences with Large-Scale Applications" session. Tim Poor,
Chief Commercial Officer, will present on June 23 on a panel entitled
"Off-Grid Power Forum: Stand-Alone Systems & Storage Solutions. The
company is also a finalist for an Intersolar ees Award for a
successful project in Hawaii.
