USU's 2013 annual report wins gold award
Moeglingen, Germany, July 29, 2014.
The League of American Communications Professionals (LACP), headquartered
in San Diego/California, bestowed its gold award on USU's annual report for
2013 in the "Software" category. As a result, USU has again clinched a top
spot in this year's contest among the world's best annual reports. More
than 6,000 entries from 24 countries were submitted to the LACP and
assessed on the basis of various criteria. The LACP Awards are one of the
most important international contests for corporate communications. USU
came 63rd in the EMEA segment in the overall rankings of all reports
submitted from different sectors.
The jury, comprising international communications experts, awarded 98 out
of a possible 100 points for the USU annual report. As a result, USU took
second spot in the "Software" category. USU was given maximum points for
the initial impression, narrative, cover, financials and information value.
"TRANSPARENCY" is the title and concept of USU's latest report.
Transparency is a key issue that companies must permanently address at the
interface between the commercial and technical world. The goal is to obtain
a clear overview - for example of IT costs, software licenses, opinions in
the Internet, problems and queries at call and service centers.
Transparency also contains the word "spare." And transparency is not
something you can be sparing with. However, you can spare your pocket with
transparency. That is the belief of the CIO, the Chief Information Officer,
to whom this annual report is dedicated. The CIO speaks in detail in the
narrative part of the annual report. His views on the change in IT or
cooperation with the specialized departments are also accentuated by
typographical elements.
"We're delighted at this top award in what is the largest international
contest in financial reporting. It proves the high quality of our
communication with the capital market," says Bernhard Oberschmidt, Chief
Executive Officer of USU Software AG, about the fine ranking.
It is also a tribute to the outstanding work of the experts involved: The
Reutlingen-based journalist Raimund Vollmer provided the ideas and shaped
the high informational value of the annual report with his concise, yet
entertaining style. The freework Grafik-Design agency from Asperg was
