Der Markt rechnet offenbar auch mit einem höheren realisierbaren Wert, Kurs zuletzt 0.73 AUD.






Crosby Capital to bid A$101 mln for Tethyan Copper

SYDNEY, May 24 (Reuters) - Asia-focused investment bank Crosby Capital Partners Inc. CSBq.L said on Tuesday it will make a A$101 million ($75 million) off-market bid for Tethyan Copper Co. Ltd., which is prospecting for copper in Pakistan.

The A$0.64-per-share offer for all the outstanding shares and options represents a 35 percent premium to Tethyan`s weighted average price over the last 12 months, it said.


Tethyan (ASX: TYC.ax) , capitalised at A$61.6 million, ended at A$0.485 on Tuesday, with news of the bid coming after the close of trade.

Crosby Capital was 1.95 percent up at 38-1/2p in London.

Tethyan is conducting a feasibility study ahead of a decision whether to mine its H4 deposit in the western desert province of Baluchistan, estimated by the company to hold enough ore to produce 1.1 million tonnes of copper metal. Copper MCU3 currently sells for about $3,000 a tonne on world markets.

A "starter" project yielding 42,000 tonnes would act as a prelude to the development of a bigger mine, Tethyan has said. (1=A$1.32)

SYDNEY, July 14 (Reuters) - Australia-listed Tethyan Copper Ltd. (ASX: TYC.ax) advised shareholders on Thursday to take no action as investment bank Crosby Capital Partners Inc. CSBq.L readies a A$101 million ($76 million) off-market bid.

The A$0.64-per-share offer announced on May 24 for all the outstanding shares and options represented a 35 percent premium to Tethyan`s weighted average price over the previous 12 months.

Since then Tethyan has consistently traded close to or above A$0.70 cents, closing on Thursday at A$0.74.

Takeover documents were expected to be mailed to Tethyan shareholders this week outlining the offer.

Tethyan, capitalised at A$94.1 million, is studying plans to mine the Reko Diq deposit in Pakistan`s western desert province of Baluchistan, estimated by the company to hold enough ore to produce 1.1 million tonnes of copper metal. Copper MCU3 currently sells for about $3,350 a tonne.

Start up capital costs have been estimated by Tethyan at $150 million. A second, larger phase would cost $1.0 billion.

Tethyan holds a 75 percent interest in Reko Diq, with the government of Baluchistan holding the remainder.

Tethyan acquired the site from sector heavyweight BHP Billiton Ltd./Plc (ASX: BHP.ax) BLT.L, which holds buyback rights for 70 percent of the assets.

Crosby has argued that Tethyan was under-capitalised to fund a project of that size. ($1=A$1.33)

SANTIAGO, Chile, Dec 23 (Reuters) - Chilean copper company Antofagasta Minerals (ANTO.L: Quote, Profile, Research) said on Friday it agreed to a $133 million joint venture with an Australian company to explore and exploit Pakistan copper and gold properties.


Antofagasta said the agreement involved the purchase of a 19.95 percent stake in Australia`s Tethyan Copper Co. (TYC.AX: Quote, Profile, Research) for $20.5 million as well as an outlay of $37.5 million for a 50 percent equity stake in Tethyan`s Pakistan mineral properties.

The agreement, announced out of London and subject to approval by shareholders and regulators, also involves a commitment to invest up to $75 million in exploration and development.

Tethyan`s principal assets are a 75 percent interest in the exploration license for the Chagai Hills region of North West Pakistan, known as Reko Diq. The region is part of an extended copper-gold belt.

"Tethyan has reported total indicated and inferred mineral resource estimates at these properties of 1,213 million tonnes with a copper grade of 0.58 percent and a gold grade of 0.28 grams per tonne," Antofagasta said in a statement.

Tethyan is currently the subject of an unsolicited takeover offer from Skafell Pty Ltd., which is a subsidiary of Crosby Capital Partners Inc. and IB Daiwa Corp. (3587.Q: Quote, Profile, Research) .

The Tethyan board has recommended that its shareholders reject the Skafell takeover offer and accept the Antofagasta proposal.

PERTH-BASED Tethyan Copper has
dealt a potentially fatal blow to a prolonged hostile bid for the company by hooking up with giant Chilean miner Antofagasta in a $US133 million ($A182 million) deal over the huge Reko Diq copper/gold project in Pakistan.

The group will confirm tomorrow when the Australian Stock Exchange reopens that Antofagasta has agreed to pay $US37.5 million for a half-share of Tethyan`s interests in Pakistan, take a 19.9 per cent stake in the company for $US20.5 million and spend a further $US75 million on exploration and development.

According to an Antofagasta statement issued in London on Friday, Tethyan has also struck a separate $US50 million deal to buy BHP Billiton`s claw- back rights over Reko Diq.

The move is Antofagasta`s first outside South America. The company, listed in London, is 65 per cent owned by Chile`s Luksic family, and owns copper mines in Chile and other interests including road and rail transport.

Significantly, Antofagasta`s deal to buy 33 million shares translates to a purchase price of about 84¢ a share at current exchange rates, well above both the Australian company`s last sale price of 60¢ and the 64¢ bid by Hong Kong investment bank Crosby Capital.

In what has been dubbed the forgotten takeover battle, Crosby has been stalking Tethyan since launching a hostile $101 million takeover bid in May. However, it has struggled to build a major stake, despite its growing criticism of the target and even though Tethyan shares have traded under the offer price for most of the past two months.

On Thursday, it disclosed that its holding in Tethyan had actually fallen to just 1.31 per cent after the withdrawal of acceptances accounting for more than 7 per cent of the company.

Antofagasta`s intervention threatens to scuttle the bid, forcing Crosby group to either walk away or return with a higher offer.

Wie steht es denn gerade darum? Steht die noch irgendwie im Raum oder ist die sache gelaufen?

neues Thema erstellen kannst, wenn du eingeloggt bist.
Dann steht in einem Unterforum deiner Wahl "neues Thema beginnen" als Option zum Anklicken rechts neben dem Forumstitel.

Die Teilübernahme von Tethyan wird auf der HV am 23.2. ziemlich sicher beschlossen. An der Börse notiert werden sie weiter bleiben, Tethyan will auch in London eine volle Notiz (s. Text unten). Ob die Tethyan-Aktionäre ein Teilübernahmeangebot bekommen oder ob die Chilenen nur die Anteile von BHP übernehmen wollen, weiß ich noch gar nicht.
Produziert wird noch lange nicht. Das wird wohl mind. 2-4 Jahre dauern. Zu Anfang wird man sicher ein kleineres Starter-Projekt mit einem höhergradigen Teil des Erzes beginnen. Der Vollausbau dieses recht großen Projektes wird sich über mehrere Jahre hinziehen.

Tethyan Copper Company Ltd announced yesterday that it had lodged its “Pre- admission Announcement” for the listing of the ordinary shares on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange.

Under the fast track route for AIM admission which is available to Tethyan due to its existing ASX listing, the Pre- admission Announcement must be made at least 20 days before the AIM listing date.

Tethyan said it intends to make the final application for admission to AIM immediately following the shareholders meeting to approve the previously announced transaction with Antofagasta, which is scheduled for February 23, 2006.

On this basis, it is anticipated that the AIM listing will take place on or around February 28, 2006.

Tethyan Managing Director David Moore said the proposed AIM listing is intended to broaden Tethyan’s shareholder base, offer investors in the UK and European markets easier access to the company’s securities and thereby improve the company’s access and flexibility for future capital raisings that may be required to progress its Reko Diq projects towards development.

Approximately 40% of Tethyan’s shares are already held outside of Australia. This offshore shareholding percentage will increase further should the proposed agreement with Antofagasta be completed.

As previously announced, the company has appointed Australian based group RFC Corporate Finance Ltd as its Nominated Adviser and respected London broker Numis Securities Ltd as its UK Broker in relation to the AIM listing.
The company’s ordinary shares will continue to be listed on the ASX and pursuant to the AIM Rules, all of the Directors and their have agreed not to dispose of any securities in Tethyan for one year from Admission.

Terhyan Copper ist ein Meagprojekt in Parkistan, gemäss bisherigen Borhresultaten liegen dort uner der parkistanischen Wüste 1213 Mio. Tonnen Erz-Ressourcen zu 0,58% Kupfer und 0,28 Gramm Gold je Tonne, Dies entspricht etwa 7 Mio. Tonnen Kupfer und rund 11 Mio. Unzen Gold mit einem Gesamtwert im Boden vone rund 35 Mfr. US-Dollar .Auch wenn die Kosten bis zur Produktion hoch veranschlagt,dürfte sich daraus ein Cashflow von über 10 Mrd $ generieren lassen.
Es bestehen aber zwei grosse Probleme die bisher verhinderten das der Kurs von TYC durchstartete. Einmal die Finazierung und das politische Risiko. Zur Finanzierung gibt es eine Lösung mit Antofagsta.

Tethyan Copper ist ein höchst interessantes und aussichtsreiches Investment, man braucht aber Geduld und auch starke Nerven,was die politische Situation in Parkistan angeht. DIe Gedul könnte sich in 2-3 Jahren auszhalen, wenn Reko- Diq tatsächlich zu einer der ganz grossen Kupfer Gold-Minen der Welt avanciert. Ursprünlglich wurde ja dieses Projekt vin BHP Billtion entdeckt, aber zur Jahrtausendwende wo die Kupferpreise am Boden lagen verscherpelte BHP diees Projekt an Tethyan mit einer Option des Rückkaufes, da die Geologen von BHP überzeugt sind das das eine gute Mine wird.Es ist zu hoffen das Antofagasta nun die Exploration rasch vorantreibt und das TYC quasie " gratis" ohne weiteren Kapitalbedarf mitfährt, dürfte der Aktienkurs von TYC in den nächsten Monaten mit jedem neuen Bohrergebnis steigen. Dies wiederum wird in 1-2 Jahren die Finanzierung für den Bau der Mine massiv erleichtern, wenn es darum geht, dass Tethyan seinen Anteil zum Joint-Vernure beisteuert.Durch die Joint-Venture -Vereinbarung ist nach der Bekanntgabe der Aktienkurs angestiegen, jedoch nicht in dem Massen was den grossen Nutzen, der aus der Zusammenarbeti mit Antofagasta entstand. Ganz zu schweigen vom gewaltigen Reserve-Potenzial, welches das Reko- Diq-Porjekt langfristig birgt.
Ich selbst habe gestern 30.000 Stück gekauft.

(ABX.TO: Quote, Profile, Research) said on Tuesday it has agreed to acquire 50 percent of Tethyan Copper Co Ltd.`s (TYC.AX: Quote, Profile, Research) Reko Diq project and other mineral interests in Pakistan if Antofagasta Plc`s (ANTO.L: Quote, Profile, Research) bid for Tethyan is successful.

Barrick and Antofagasta have agreed to share equally in Tethyan`s 75 percent interest in the Reko Diq project as well as all of Tethyan`s rights, licenses and permits held in Pakistan.

Toronto-based Barrick will pay Antofagasta $100 million in cash for 50 percent of all the acquisition costs, including claw-back rights with BHP Billiton (BHP.AX: Quote, Profile, Research).

Earlier, Antofagasta, a Chilean copper miner, said it had made a $140 million cash offer for Australian-listed Tethyan that was supported by both boards of directors. Antofagasta said it also struck a $60 million side deal with BHP over claw-back rights to certain Tethyan mineral interests.

Reko Diq is touted as a giant copper and gold project, containing 12.3 million tonnes of copper and 20.9 million ounces of gold in inferred and indicated resources.

Warum der Kurs anders als beim ursprünglichen Deal mit Antofagasta nun so heftig reagiert, kann ich nicht ganz nachvollziehen.IMO hätte der Kurs damals so springen müssen wie heute, während die heutige Nachricht nur einen kleineren Schub bringen sollte.
Liegt es am höheren Bekanntheitsgrad von Barrick?
Oder hat der Markt es so gemacht, damit hpoth noch billiger rein konnte?

Der britische Antofagasta-Konzern will sich ein Kupfer-Projekt in Pakistan einverleiben. Das könnte Phantasie in die Aktie bringen – und auch andere kleinere Explorer beflügeln.






Drogenbarone oder kriegerische Stammesfürsten, niemand schreckt die Bergbaukonzern mehr ab. Sie müssen neue Rohstoffquellen erschließen, ihre Reserven und Ressourcen erweitern oder zumindest nachfüllen.

Der neueste Coup in exotischen Landstrichen ist das Übernahmeangebot der Londoner Antofagasta (ISIN: GB0000456144/WPKN: 867578) an die Aktionäre von Tethyan Copper. 1,20 Aussi-Dollar wollen die Briten je Aktie für die Australier ausgeben. Das sind rund 117 Millionen Euro. Das wirklich Überraschende ist nicht das Interesse an der großen Kupfer-Gold-Liegenschaft in Pakistan, nicht weit der afghanischen Grenze. Vielmehr überrascht die Macht, mit der das Antofagasta-Management zu Werke geht. Das 1,20-A-Dollar-Angebot liegt nämlich 55 Prozent über dem bereits bestehenden Gebot von Skafell für Tethyan. Und Skafell erhöhte zudem erst am 17. Januar seine Offerte um 21 Prozent auf 0,775 Australische Dollar. Da scheint was ganz Großes im pakistanischen Boden zu schlummern.

Antofagasta hat sicherlich schon genau nachgeschaut, ob sich ein Preis von nahezu 120 Millionen Euro lohnt. Und das Management kennt bereits das Hauptprojekt der Perther Tethyan, Tanjeel. Ursprünglich wollen die beiden Konzerne Tanjeel gemeinsam ausbeuten. Die letzten zugänglichen Zahlen bestätigen eine Lagerstätte von 2,4 Milliarden Tonnen Gestein.

Darin sind 0,51 Prozent Kupfer und 0,27 Gramm Gold je Tonne enthalten.

Das sind Milliarden-Werte, könnten sie einigermaßen günstig gefördert werden. Womöglich weis Antofagasta sogar schon neuere Zahlen, die noch viel versprechender sind.

Das Pakistan-Projekt scheint den Londonern ohnehin über den Kopf zu wachsen. Sie holten sich daher bereits den Goldkonzern Barrick Gold ins Boot. Auch mit BHP Billiton gibt es wohl Gespräche.

Mit der Antofagasta-Aktie können Sie wohl getrost auf den Erfolg dieses Projekts spekulieren. Der Kurs der Londoner-Aktie dürfte das gesamte Potenzial noch nicht einbezogen haben. Zudem notiert Antofagasta, die vor allem in Chile Kupfer abbauen und dort sowie in Peru nach Kupfer explorieren, mit einem Kurs-Gewinn-Verhältnis 2006 von elf bis zwölf nicht teuer. Doch zu beachten ist, dass Minen-Aktien immer als spekulatives Investment zu verstehen sind.

Sollten Sie es noch spekulativer wollen, so können Sie sich die womöglich nächsten Übernahmekandidaten ansehen. Eine Chance wäre Indophil Resources (ISIN: AU000000IRN3/WPKN: 632935) aus Melbourne. Die Australier besitzen auf den Philippinen das Tampakan-Projekt mit rund 1,3 Milliarden Tonnen Gestein. Darin sollen 0,8 Prozent Kupfer auf den Abbau warten. Der Schweizer Konzern Xstrata besitzt bis Ende 2007 eine Option 62,5 Prozent des Projekts zu übernehmen. Xstrata äußerte sich zudem bereits, dass Tampakan möglicherweise schon 2009 in Produktion gehen könnte. Das lässt darauf schließen, dass Xstrata die Option sicherlich ausüben wird. Es ist zudem anzunehmen, dass die Schweizer das ganze Projekt haben wollen. Dies würde wohl ein Übernahmeangebot für Indophil-Aktionäre bedeuten. Wie bei Tethyan zu beobachten war, kann dies sehr lukrativ sein. Ein so großer Aufschlag wie bei den Westaustraliern ist zwar nicht zu erwarten, da Xstrata ja schon die Hand auf dem Tampakan-Projekt hat, aber eine Spekulation ist es doch wert.

Weiß noch nicht, ob ich es (teilweise?) annehmen werde.
Immerhin bin ich schon lange aus der Speku-Frist und hab fast eine Verdreifachung.

Und jeder weiß: Barrick braucht Unzen in rauhen Mengen, um das Hedgebook und den Mark-to-Market-Value in den Büchern zu trimmen.

Chile's Antofagasta raises bid for Tethyan Copper

SYDNEY, March 24 (Reuters) - Chilean copper miner Antofagasta Plc ANTO.L said it had lifted its cash offer by 17 percent to A$158 million ($112 million) for Australian-listed Tethyan Copper Ltd. (ASX: TYC.ax) , which is prospecting in Pakistan.

The increased offer to A$1.40 a share from A$1.20 had the blessing of Canada's Barrick Gold Ltd. ABX.TO, which has agreed to acquire 50 percent of Tethyan's Reko Diq project and other mineral interests in Pakistan if Antofagasta's bid succeeds.

Barrick and Antofagasta have agreed to share equally in Tethyan's 75 percent interest in the Reko Diq project as well as all of Tethyan's rights, licenses and permits held in Pakistan.

Antofagasta already holds 14.85 percent of Tethyan's stock.

Tethyan's board has recommended shareholders accept Antofagasta's offer, which is 5 cents above a counter offer tabled by Crosby Capital Partners subsidiary Skafell Pty. Ltd, in the absence of any higher bids.

Reko Diq is touted as a giant copper and gold project, containing 12.3 million tonnes of copper and 20.9 million ounces of gold in inferred and indicated resources.

Since 2003, world copper prices based on the London Metal Exchange benchmark contract MCU3 have nearly quadrupled. hitting a fresh record high of $5,250 a tonne on Thursday. Gold has climbed more than $200 an once over the same period, currently fetching $549 an ounce XAU=.

Tethyan shares, which have more than doubled in price this year, were slightly lower at A$1.405, in a flat broader market.

Ein weiteres erhöhtes Angebot: Kurs 1,40 AUD
(0,83 EUR entspricht ca. 1,41 AUD)

Werde nicht verkaufen auch wenn in den nächsten Wochen mit allen Mitteln der Kurs gedrückt wird.
Ist ein altes bekanntes Spiel, doch der ware Wert ist noch lange nicht erreicht (m.M. nach noch dieses Jahr 5 AUD)
Warum also verkaufen?
Oder haben wir Anleger etwas zu verschenken?

Laßt Euch nicht für dumm verkaufen auch wenn jetzt von bekannter Seite zum verkaufen geraten wird, die werden dafür mit dicken Prämien bezahlt.

Keine News - d.h. für uns Anleger warten auf weiteres erhöhtes Angebot.
Es lohnt sich, denn das letzte Angebot: Kurs 1,40 AUD
(0,83 EUR entspricht ca. 1,41 AUD)
entspricht in keiner Weise dem reellen Wert von TETHYAN COPPER CO!!
Die Rohstoffhausse wird noch gut zwei Jahre weitergehen und damit können wir uns beruhigt zurücklegen glaube aber nicht das wir lange warten müssen.

Da ich hier nur mit eienm kleinem Beitrag investiert bin habe ich mich in den letzten Monaten kaum darum gekümmert.
Der letzte Umsatz war meines Wissens am 16.05. in Frankfurt und ist jetzt ganz ausgesetzt worden.

Kann jemand hier einposten, was aus der Firma Geworden ist...

So ist das wenn ein Exlorer erfolgreich ist, klammheimlich erwirbt ein Großinvestor die Mehreheit der Aktien und die Kleinanleger werden mit nem Appel und nem Ei abgespeist.
