TiVo, einem in den USA populären Hersteller von Festplattenrekordern, steht eine Wiederholungsklage ins Haus. Zwar hatte im März ein Gericht entschieden, dass die Branchenmitglieder Dish und EchoStar gegen Patente TiVos verstoßen. Nun wurde aber einer Berufung grünes Licht gegeben. Die Unternehmensleitung zeigte sich enttäuscht, dass das Urteil nicht endgültig ausfiel. Die Aktie von TiVi kannte kein Halten mehr und verlor am Nachmittag über 40 Prozent.

denke nicht das die nochmal 20% verliert.

chancen stehen eigentlich gut das die vor gericht gewinnen.
wie die vergagenen zwei mal auch schon.

hier wurde am späten nachmittag im großen stil gezockt. 1 % hoch und runter.

nach zwei stunden ins orderbuch starren bin ich abgerutsch und auf den buy knopf gekommen

stimmung in den board ist gut. alle auf buy eingestellt.

mal schauen.

Sei ehrlich, wonach sieht das aus?

Für mich sieht das, und da spreche ich aus Erfahrung, danach aus,
dass es bei 10 USD und knapp darüber einen Aufkäufer gibt, der gegen die ganze Herde anrennt, die nach unten rennt. Wenn der Käufer fertig hat(Montag wahrscheinlich) gehts weiter abwärts..

Nicht berücksichtigt sind Shorts, die noch eingedeckt werden könnten, das könnten 30 Mio Stück sein, meine Schätzung.
Und sicher nicht bei 10 sondern günstiger.
Leerverkäufer verfügen immer über qualitativ bessere Infos als Käufer, das ist ihrem höheren Risiko geschuldet.

darum bin ich ja froh das die 10 gehalten hat.

wollte aber vor dem WE noch rein.

bin aber ziemlich optimistisch das es montag grün wird.
solange auch die börsen mitspielen.

habs irgendwie anders interpretiert.

da war mind. ein großer verkäufer (teilweise Fonds die müssen raus)
der hat jeden sprung nach oben zum abladen genutzt.
die masse sieht hier momentan eine einstiegschance. mal abgesehen von den zocker. dazu kommt der schwache Dow
aber Montag wird alles grün.

Könntest du vielleicht erst einmal erklären warum das Teil Anfang März von 10 auf 17 gestiegen ist innerhalb von ein paar Tagen.
Steht nach dem Absturz genau da wo sie Anfang März auch stand.

TiVo: Broker reagieren auf Gewinn eines Patentstreits
Alviso, California (BoerseGo.de) - TiVo, ein Anbieter von Systemen zur Verwaltung&Speicherung von TV-Programmen, gewann gestern einen Rechtsstreit. Dabei ging es um ein Patent, das angeblich von den Rivalen Dish Network und Echostar verletzt wurde. Das führte heute zu 2 Upgrades. JP Morgan beförderte das Papier von Neutral auf Overweight und katapultierte das Kursziel von $15 auf $23. Der Broker Kaufman Brothers bestätigte sein Buy-Rating und schraubte sein Kursziel von $14 auf $19 hoch.

Tivo gewinnt 6,1% auf $17,54.

Thesis Still Holds Despite En Banc Review

This morning, the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit granted
Echostar/Dish’s en banc petition. As a result, the full court (11 judges) will hear
the case. Following are our key thoughts:
• While, we believe that en banc review is indicative that the court is
seriously revisiting the facts of the case, we think most of the concerns are
procedural in nature. Both parties (Echostar/Dish and TiVo) were instructed
to file additional briefs addressing 4 issues the court saw as key. We think these
issues are primarily procedural in nature about how the Texas court went about
deciding the case vs. core to the decision in favor of TiVo. As a result, we
continue to believe TiVo’s patents will ultimately hold up.
• Possible outcomes of the en banc review. If TiVo wins, we believe the case
will basically be over. Echostar/Dish does have the option to petition the US
Supreme Court for review, but the Supreme Court hears very few of the cases
proposed and we believe even fewer patent cases. If Echostar/Dish wins, there
are 2 options. First, TiVo could petition the US Supreme Court to hear the case
but, for the reasons we noted above, we find it unlikely this would be granted.
Second, the case could be remanded (returned) to the Texas District Court
where either the same judge hears the case but with modifications on the
procedure imposed by the Federal Circuit or TiVo would file a new patent
infringement action against Dish for the same conduct.
• Estimated timeline. We estimate that the court has granted both parties ~4
months to file additional briefs and responses. As such, we think oral arguments
will likely occur in the fall. We see the total time to receive a decision from the
en banc review taking approximately 9-12 months. Following the en banc
decision, if the Supreme Court decides to hear the case or if the case is
remanded back down to the District Court level, the cases could take years.
• OW thesis still holds. Based on our sum of parts analysis, we believe the core
value of TiVo’s business (excluding litigation awards and potential royalty fees)
is $10-$11. As such, we think the current price is an attractive entry point. As
we continue to believe that TiVo’s patents will be defensible, we are
maintaining our price target of $23.
