GREECE TO TENDER SLOT MACHINES, SCRATCH CARD LICENCES
The Greek government plans to tender three licences for low price slot machines, one of which will be granted to betting monopoly OPAP, financial daily Imerisia reported citing unnamed sources. The government also plans to award scratch ticket licences and extend OPAP's monopoly beyond 2020, the paper added.

OPAP denies Greece mulling further stake sale
ATHENS, April 30 (Reuters) - Greek betting monopoly OPAP dismissed reports on Friday that the government, battling a debt crisis, was considering cutting its holding in the state-owned firm further.
Two Greek newspapers reported OPAP, Europe's biggest betting firm in which the state holds a 34 percent stake, is at the top of the government's privatisation list this year.
A stake sale in OPAP was part of a 10 billion-euro asset sale programme the country was discussing with the European Union and the International Monetary Fund, the reports said.
'There is no such issue for OPAP,' said a senior official at the company who declined to be named. 'They (the government) have realised that OPAP could give them more money every year with a law to regulate the online betting market, rather than through a possible sale.'
Analysts said that granting new licences to OPAP and a few other players to regulate internet betting was a more likely scenario rather than the government selling part, or its full stake, in the firm.
OPAP generates significant revenues in taxes and dividends for state coffers. The company's net profit reached 594 million euros ($791.1 million) last year.
The firm, with a network of about 5,500 sales agents in Greece and Cyprus, is facing stiff competition from online betting operators which are illegal in the country.
As part of belt-tightening measurers announced in March Greece said it expected to receive an extra 400 million euros in 2010 by extending the firm's concession and granting licences for new games. ($1=.7508 Euro)
