Zur Erinnerung (Auszug aus dem H.R. 6160 111TH CONGRESS 2b Session):

"HR-6160 was passed on September 29th, 2010. The Department of Energy is in charge of this program and they were given 180 days to return with a full report on where we stand as far as operations and production go. After 180 days, loans and grants will start to be handed out to companies that have anything to do with mining REE's so that we can boost our current and future production levels to meet domestic demand. Having money already invested in a miner before new money moves to it will be very beneficial to any stock holders currently positioned in the company."

Das ist jetzt ziemlich genau Ende März. Man darf gespannt sein.

Wieder Auszüge aus Twitter. Ucore ist ja ziemlich rührig:

      - Molycorp rep Jim Sims presented MCP's plans. MCP's Mntn Pass LREE deposit is considered by many to be the counterpoint to UCU's HREE deposit

      - When it comes to critical metals, many equate Molycorp with Neodymium & UCU with Dy. These are two of the most essential metals to US growth

      - Jim McKenzie is in Washington DC today. He introduced a presentation by Senator Murkowski (AK) to TREM Conference. [Byron]

      - TREM stands for Technology and Rare Earth Metals. Attendees include federal agency representatives. [Byron]

      - A great deal of positive feedback at TREM regarding Ucore's recent US based Dysprosium resource figures.

      - Specialists such as Roskill say the worldwide near term Dy supply shortfall will be significant.

      - Dy has weight advantages & heat resistance capabilities making it irreplaceable in multiple US defense systems and homeland security apps

Owners of the Bokan Mountain site say they’re proceeding in hopes of developing an area that once held a uranium mine....."

Es ist mal wieder Twitterstunde (von der TREM 2011):

      - @JackLifton at TREM: Dy demand in 2015 will be 3 times the current annual production. It is among the rarest and most valuable of the REEs

      - At the TREM conf, Japan delegate Yuji Nishikawa emphasized that Japan would be examining the possibility of conversion to Th based reactors

      - Th based reactors are generally considered safer that U based reactors (especially in view of recent events in Japan)

      - India is already leading the way with Th based reactor technology.

      - As a side note, weapons grade material is not a byproduct of Th reactors, so their concept is gaining traction politically.

      - Ucore has one of the largest and most accessible Th deposits in the Western world.

      - The Thorium (as with the Uranium) at Bokan is located in a completely different deposit from the Rare Earths.

      - Thorium and Uranium are located primarily within the Bokan Intrusive Complex (Bokan Mountain proper)

      - The Rare Earth Elements are located primarily within the Dotson Shear (to the Southeast of the mountain).

      - This "separate deposit" is good news, since high Th content is usually considered problematic with regard to its separabilty from REEs.

      - Ucore is currently considering its Thorium development opportunities.

Schon lustig. Die einen machen jetzt Werbung mit Ihrem Thorium und die anderen haben deswegen Probleme. Siehe Lynas und diese merkwürdige Umweltdiskussion in Malaysia.

      Dines:

We find it remarkable that the Rare-Earth mining shares themselves have turned flat! We are not certain yet what this means, but just after the price of oil spooked the market by leaping, many stocks in the rest of the market dropped out of their Uptrends and into lateral motion. Our IWB noted that Consolidations have a "neutral valence," meaning that we should shift our strategy to buying on Pullbacks rather than chasing Uptrends. How long this Consolidation will last is anybody’s guess, but our ace of trumps is that the underlying Rare Earths themselves racing skyward suggests that the stocks’ Breakouts will be to the upside!
As we attempt to puzzle out why the Rare Earths are not responding to the strength in their underlying assets, perhaps investors are simply unaware of Rare Earth oxides’ strength! Difficult to believe, but we just work here. If so, sooner or later the news will break into the press, and our Rare Earth stocks will catch up with decisive Upside Breakouts.
