McEwen Mining Announces Attractive Intercepts at the San José Mine in Argentina
TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Feb. 13, 2012) - McEwen Mining Inc. (TSX:MUX) (NYSE:MUX) is pleased to announce high-grade and exceptionally wide drilling intercepts on the Pilar vein at its 49% owned San José mine in Santa Cruz province, Argentina. The Pilar vein, which has been defined by recent surface and underground drilling and drifting, is located in the vicinity of the Micaela-Sofia vein cluster that was discovered in the latter part of 2010.
The location of the vein is shown in Exhibit 1. Highlights from the holes recently drilled on the Pilar vein include:

Portions of the Pilar vein were previously identified as the Nadia and Sofia veins. Recent underground and surface infill drilling has enabled the exploration team at San José to re-interpret these isolated segments as the continuous Pilar vein. A total of 310 meters of drifting has been completed on the different segments of the Pilar vein on the 350 level, which connects the Frea and Kospi veins. The drilling and drifting indicate that the Pilar vein may have a strike length of about one kilometer with some exceptional thicknesses and grade. There is good potential to grow the resource base as the structure is open at depth and along strike.

In 2012, a total of 110,500 meters of diamond core drilling is scheduled at the San José mine, of which 68,000 meters will be exploration for new resources and 42,500 will be for infill. This represents more than double of the exploration budget that was completed last year.
In addition to the drilling planned at the San José mine, McEwen Mining is planning to drill 20,000 meters of diamond core drilling on its 100% properties adjoining the San José mine and Goldcorp's Cerro Negro project.
During the Fourth Quarter, a total of 72 diamond core holes totaling 19,169 meters was drilled. The majority of the drilling (38 of the 72 holes) was exploration for new resources on existing veins and potential new veins. This exploration drilling totaled 10,916 meters and was directed mainly towards the Pluma area, which is the northwest extension of the San José vein zone, and the southeastern extension of the Huevos Verdes Sur vein. The exploration drilling results received to date are reported in Exhibit 2.
The remainder of the drilling (34 of the 72 holes) during the Fourth Quarter was infill for the purpose of upgrading existing inferred resources to the measured and indicated categories so that they can be incorporated into the production plan. This infill drilling amounted to 8,252 meters and was concentrated on the Sofia, Luli, Susana and Orion veins. The Pilar vein was discovered as a result of the infill drilling on these veins. With the exception of the Pilar vein, results of the infill drilling were in line with expectations.
Resources defined by the exploration and infill drilling will be reported as part of the year end resource update that is currently being prepared.
The induced polarization geophysical program covering 16,000 hectares is being finalized. The geophysical program is being followed up by detailed geological mapping of the areas covering the geophysical surveys. The geophysical and geological information will be used for drill hole targeting during 2012.

Dieses Video muß man zumindest auch gehört haben um im Markt, egal wo man sich herumtreibt, wie z.B. die User dieses Threads im Rohstoffbereich, reagieren zu können.
Das heißt für mich in guten Aktien sind wir ebenfalls sicherer aufgehoben als nur in physischen Edelmetallen, nur in Immobilien oder ähnlichem. Hört sich gut an, was hier geraten wird, aber ob das genau das richtige für uns ist, wer weiß das schon ?

McEwen Mining's Silver Lining
Minera Andes and US Gold have merged to create McEwen Mining (MUX), named after Rob McEwen, its maverick CEO.
In 1990, McEwen began running Goldcorp (GG), with a market cap at the time of $50 million, and turned it into a gold major with a market cap of $8 billion when he left in 2004.
In 2009 his largest post-Goldcorp project, Minera Andes, half of pre-merger McEwen Mining, had a problem at its sole producing asset, a 49% stake in the Sane Jose mine in Argentina. Hochchild Mining (HCHDF.PK), which owned a 51% stake in San Jose, gave Minera Andes two options in the depths of the financial crisis in early 2009, a low-ball buy-out offer or a cash call on debt that Minera Andes simply couldn't meet. So Rob McEwen stepped in. He offered an equity investment that would enable Minera Andes to meet the cash call. Hochchild raised its offer. Mr. McEwen blew theirs out of the water with a significantly stronger valuation on his equity offer.
The gamble paid off. McEwen and Minera Andes shareholders did well as the stock rallied from 35 cents at the cash call to over three dollars a share at its peak.
Minera Andes has now merged with US Gold, McEwen's other pet project, to form McEwen Mining, a gold focused but silver-heavy, developer cum producer.
Along with its 49% stake in the producing San Jose mine (the world's 14th largest silver mine by production, over 2.5 million ounces of silver net to McEwen Mining), the Minera Andes half of the merger also brings a prolific, albeit early stage and subject to litigation, Los Azules copper deposit, also in Argentina.
US Gold brings the El Gallo mine in Mexico (predicted by McEwen Mining to produce 5 million ounces of silver a year), scheduled to open sometime in 2012, and the Gold Bar prospect, which is scheduled to enter production in 2015. (Although, that must be a best case scenario.)
In 2015, if San Jose's production holds, El Gallo produces as much as suggested and Gold Bar opens, McEwen Mining believes they will produce roughly 7.8 million ounces of silver and 130,000 ounces of gold.
This revenue stream will allow McEwen to build his next Goldcorp. (Or so he hopes.) Minera Andes was only just profitable at the time of the merger. With about $40 million in cash between them and $10 million in debt still owing from the San Jose mine, such aggressive expansion will difficult without further equity offerings or higher gold or silver prices. (Or another cash injection from McEwen.)
However, with a market cap of $750 million, an organic growth strategy, very little debt and projected revenue around $500 million (at current prices) in 2015, McEwen Mining may be a steal if it can keep costs competitive. And with its heavy exposure to silver, it may be worth extra consideration over many of its peers for the exposure to the much more volatile sister metal of gold. (In that, a rally in gold usually correlates with a much faster rally in silver, but of course the inverse is also usually true.)
However, the ultimate dictator of McEwen Mining's success will inevitably be gold and silver prices. Mr. McEwen, for his part, sees $2,000 gold this year, and $5,000 gold in the not too distant future. Even if you're not that optimistic, this stock is worth a look if you're interested in a growth stock in the gold sector.

Sollte McEwen demnächst einigermaßen hervorragende BE aus den neuen Bohrgebieten, nach einem NI 43-101 melden wird auch dieser Kurs nach oben schießen.
Sollte dann die Förderung auf den beiden Feldern, einmal in Nevada auf Gold und das andere Mal in Mexico auf Silber, dem Gallo-Gebiet, beginnen wird es halt auch hier etwas mit dem höheren Kurs, oder ?
Aber lest es selber, wie es auch hier bei McEwen Mining kommen kann. Das ist der heutigen News von Heiko Böhmer zu entnehmen, die sich allerdings nur auf 2 der großen Edelmetall-Förderer beziehen. Noch gehört MUX noch nicht dazu, noch nicht, aber bald.
Goldminen Aktien: Auch 2012 mit großem Potenzial
Liebe Leser,
die große Korrektur beim Gold ist vorerst ausgeblieben.
Der Absacker Ende Dezember gehört schon wieder der Vergangenheit an. Jetzt hat sich der Goldpreis wieder im Bereich um 1.700 Dollar etabliert.
Und das von vielen Experten schon ausgerufene Ende des Bullenmarktes beim Gold bleibt auch aus.
Grundsätzlich hat sich die Lage an den Finanzmärkten in diesem Jahr etwas beruhigt. Doch unter der Oberfläche brodelt es weiter. Das zeigen in diesen Tagen die zähen Verhandlungen um den Schuldenschnitt in Griechenland.
Und mit Portugal ist schon das nächste Euro-Land in massiven Problemen. Das zeigen die ständig steigenden Renditen der Anleihen. Sie sehen also: Gold als sicherer Hafen in der Geldanlage wird auch 2012 weiterhin gefragt sein.
In der Vergangenheit haben Goldaktien in Boomphasen sehr oft eine deutliche besser Performance gezeigt, als der Rohstoff selbst. Aktuell sieht das anders aus. Viele große Goldminen treten auf der Stelle oder verlieren sogar an Wert.
Doch das Aufholpotenzial ist auf jeden Fall vorhanden. Bei 1.700 Dollar sind viele der großen Goldminen extrem profitabel. Bei den reinen Produktionskosten sind Margen von 1.000 Dollar und mehr bei vielen Minen zu finden.
Doch an der Börse spielen diese Aktien nur eine Nebenrolle. Dabei schütten Goldproduzenten mittlerweile sogar wieder Dividenden aus. Auch das ist ein klares Zeichen für die gute Substanz bei diesen Werten.
Vorsicht: Nicht alle Produzenten bieten die gleichen Chancen
Doch kann man nicht einfach jeden großen Produzenten kaufen, in der Hoffnung, dass bei der kommenden Flut alle Aktien mit nach oben gespült werden. Wichtig sind einige Kriterien, die von den Produzenten erfüllt werden müssen. Nur dann ist auch eine sichere Basis gegeben, dass sich der Erfolg einstellen kann.
Grundsätzlich bleibt das Minengeschäft ein risikoreiches Business – so viel muss jedem Investoren klar sein. Wie schnell auch in diesem Sektor Vertrauen verspielt werden kann, zeigt ein Blick auf Kinross Gold, einen der großen Produzenten.
Auf Sicht eines Jahres hat die Aktie 34% an Wert verloren. Im gleichen Zeitraum hat der Dow Jones Index um 6% und ein Konkurrent wie Goldcorp sogar um 15% zugelegt. Kinross Gold hat Mitte Januar erfahren, wie hart die Börse sein kann.
Nach Meldungen über Verzögerungen beim neuen Tasiat Projekt in Mauretanien sackte die Aktie stark ab. Laut Angaben des Managements wird sich die Entwicklung des Projekts um sechs bis neun Monate verschieben. Das sorgt für Befürchtungen über das zukünftige Produktionswachstum.
Goldcorp hingegen hat in den vergangenen Monaten die eigene Wachstumsstrategie mehrfach bestätigt. Danach will Goldcorp in diesem Jahr 2,6 Mio. Unzen Gold produzieren. Bis 2016 soll dieser Wert um fast 70% auf dann 4,2 Mio. Unzen steigen.

Aber lest es selber, wie es auch hier bei McEwen Mining kommen kann. Das ist der heutigen News von Heiko Böhmer zu entnehmen, die sich allerdings nur auf 2 der großen Edelmetall-Förderer beziehen. Noch gehört MUX noch nicht dazu, noch nicht, aber bald.
Goldminen Aktien: Auch 2012 mit großem Potenzial
Liebe Leser,
die große Korrektur beim Gold ist vorerst ausgeblieben.
Der Absacker Ende Dezember gehört schon wieder der Vergangenheit an. Jetzt hat sich der Goldpreis wieder im Bereich um 1.700 Dollar etabliert.
Und das von vielen Experten schon ausgerufene Ende des Bullenmarktes beim Gold bleibt auch aus.
Grundsätzlich hat sich die Lage an den Finanzmärkten in diesem Jahr etwas beruhigt. Doch unter der Oberfläche brodelt es weiter. Das zeigen in diesen Tagen die zähen Verhandlungen um den Schuldenschnitt in Griechenland.
Und mit Portugal ist schon das nächste Euro-Land in massiven Problemen. Das zeigen die ständig steigenden Renditen der Anleihen. Sie sehen also: Gold als sicherer Hafen in der Geldanlage wird auch 2012 weiterhin gefragt sein.
In der Vergangenheit haben Goldaktien in Boomphasen sehr oft eine deutliche besser Performance gezeigt, als der Rohstoff selbst. Aktuell sieht das anders aus. Viele große Goldminen treten auf der Stelle oder verlieren sogar an Wert.
Doch das Aufholpotenzial ist auf jeden Fall vorhanden. Bei 1.700 Dollar sind viele der großen Goldminen extrem profitabel. Bei den reinen Produktionskosten sind Margen von 1.000 Dollar und mehr bei vielen Minen zu finden.
Doch an der Börse spielen diese Aktien nur eine Nebenrolle. Dabei schütten Goldproduzenten mittlerweile sogar wieder Dividenden aus. Auch das ist ein klares Zeichen für die gute Substanz bei diesen Werten.
Vorsicht: Nicht alle Produzenten bieten die gleichen Chancen
Doch kann man nicht einfach jeden großen Produzenten kaufen, in der Hoffnung, dass bei der kommenden Flut alle Aktien mit nach oben gespült werden. Wichtig sind einige Kriterien, die von den Produzenten erfüllt werden müssen. Nur dann ist auch eine sichere Basis gegeben, dass sich der Erfolg einstellen kann.
Grundsätzlich bleibt das Minengeschäft ein risikoreiches Business – so viel muss jedem Investoren klar sein. Wie schnell auch in diesem Sektor Vertrauen verspielt werden kann, zeigt ein Blick auf Kinross Gold, einen der großen Produzenten.
Auf Sicht eines Jahres hat die Aktie 34% an Wert verloren. Im gleichen Zeitraum hat der Dow Jones Index um 6% und ein Konkurrent wie Goldcorp sogar um 15% zugelegt. Kinross Gold hat Mitte Januar erfahren, wie hart die Börse sein kann.
Nach Meldungen über Verzögerungen beim neuen Tasiat Projekt in Mauretanien sackte die Aktie stark ab. Laut Angaben des Managements wird sich die Entwicklung des Projekts um sechs bis neun Monate verschieben. Das sorgt für Befürchtungen über das zukünftige Produktionswachstum.
Goldcorp hingegen hat in den vergangenen Monaten die eigene Wachstumsstrategie mehrfach bestätigt. Danach will Goldcorp in diesem Jahr 2,6 Mio. Unzen Gold produzieren. Bis 2016 soll dieser Wert um fast 70% auf dann 4,2 Mio. Unzen steigen.

bei meiner Bank (comdirect) ist der Umtausch der US GOLD Aktien schon vollzogen;
allerdings noch nicht die "US Gold Exchangeable" Aktien (das sind die Aktien, die ehemals Aktien der Firmen wie Nevada Pacific Gold, White Knight waren, die US Gold gekauft hatte).
Der Umtausch sollte (auch bei Dir) automatisch erfolgen!
