n a different area of defense, Ball is bullish on the Purefunds Cybersecurity ETF (HACK), which is up 23% so far in 2015. HACK was launched last November and has quickly amassed over $760 million in assets primarily in names like FireEye (FEYE), CyberArk Software (CYBR) and Infoblox (BLOX).
"As we see some of these big name hacks in terms of corporations and even the federal government it does tend to bring increased awareness to the area and pushes more money in there," said Ball.

'Billions' of records at risk from mobile app data flaw

* Flaw leaves data stored by apps vulnerable -researchers
* Almost every category of app considered vulnerable
* Passwords, addresses, photos, medical data all at risk
* Records affected "will likely be in the billions"
By Jeremy Wagstaff
SINGAPORE, June 17 (Reuters) - Security researchers have uncovered a flaw in the way thousands of popular mobile applications store data online, leaving users' personal information, including passwords, addresses, door codes and location data, vulnerable to hackers.
The team of German researchers found 56 million items of unprotected data in the applications it studied in detail, which included games, social networks, messaging, medical and bank transfer apps.
"In almost every category we found an app which has this vulnerability in it," said Siegfried Rasthofer, part of the team from the Fraunhofer Institute for Secure Information Technology and Darmstadt University of Technology.
Team leader Eric Bodden said the number of records affected "will likely be in the billions".
Another security researcher working separately, Colombian Jheto Xekri, said he had also found the same flaw.

As I recently recommended to my Alpha Investor Letter subscribers, the PureFunds ISE Cyber Security ETF (NYSEARCA:HACK) - a broad-based bet on the cybersecurity investment theme - is one way around this. HACK tracks the ISE Cyber Security Index, investing in 31 stocks across the planet, each focused on software systems and other solutions that defend against cyberattacks.
HACK's top three holdings include Cyberark Software Ltd. (NASDAQ:CYBR), 6.09%; Fireeye Inc. (NASDAQ:FEYE), 5.96%; and Infoblox Inc. (NYSE:BLOX), 5.14%. The fund invests 49.35% of its portfolio in the top 10 holdings. This means that the risk in the fund is quite concentrated. And, as a result, it is quite volatile.
HACK has outperformed both the S&P 500 and the NASDAQ 100 - by more than 27% and 23% over the past 12 months, respectively. HACK itself is up 22.54% this year.

Still, most of today's biggest opportunities in cybersecurity lie in next-generation solutions, including cloud security and big data security analytics. It is these cyber startups that are providing the most innovative solutions, and many are doubling and tripling revenues annually.
That's why cybersecurity is a sector best suited for short-term traders skilled at playing both the long and short side of highly volatile individual stocks. But whether you're a long-term investor or short-term trader, just realize that the cybersecurity rocket ship has taken off.
So strap yourself in for the ride.

Juhuu, weiter so.... bevor - vielleicht - ne Korrektur kommt.

buy and hold ist da angesagt
