ROB MCEWEN TO INVEST $1.5 MILLION IN EVERTON RESOURCES TO ACCELERATE ITS EXPLORATION PROGRAM
Everton Resources Inc. (TSX-V: EVR) is pleased to announce that, subject to regulatory approval, it has entered into an agreement with Mr. Rob McEwen of Toronto, Ontario to issue 3.0 million units at a price of $0.50 per unit for aggregate proceeds of $1,500,000. Each unit will consist of one common share and one common share purchase warrant. Each whole share purchase warrant can be exercised into one common share at a price of $0.70 per share for a term of 18 months.
The net proceeds of this offering will be used to finance exploration work at Everton’s Opinaca and Wild Cat gold projects in the James Bay region of Quebec and also Everton’s gold and copper portfolio of properties in the Dominican Republic.

Everton and Azimut Identify New Gold Targets on the Opinaca Project, James Bay, Quebec

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Feb. 1, 2006) - Everton Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE:EVR - News) and Azimut Exploration Inc. (TSX VENTURE:AZM - News) are pleased to announce that new gold targets were identified on the Opinaca project (A, A-East, B, and B-North blocks), following reception and interpretation of the latest results of the 2005 field campaign. The Opinaca project is located in the immediate vicinity of the Eleonore gold discovery.

Results from 286 lake sediment samples covering the entire project area have defined six different zones with anomalous gold, silver, arsenic, and antimony values. These elements are known as potential indicators of gold mineralization. All targets measure at least 1 km in length and are defined by samples from several different lakes. One of the targets identified coincides with the signature of the 1.7-km-long gold-bearing trend discovered on the A Block (press release dated November 21, 2005).
Assay results from 26 till samples (glacial sediments) collected on the A Block yielded gold grades in 3 samples: 2.41 g/t Au, 0.18 g/t Au, and 0.77 g/t Au. The till survey is located about 5 km north of Eleonore, along 3 test lines, including a short middle-line (4 samples). Survey lines are oriented northwest-southeast and spaced 2 km apart, with samples collected every 150 m. Gold-bearing samples are located on the west (2.41 g/t; 0.18 g/t) and east (0.77 g/t) lines. Since these samples were collected up-ice relative to Eleonore, the survey results suggest a gold source located on the A Block.
An appropriate follow-up will be conducted on these targets during the 2006 campaign.
Lake sediment samples were analyzed by Actlabs Laboratories, in Ancaster, Ontario, for multi-element determination by ICP-MS and neutron activation (INAA). Heavy mineral concentrates from till samples, each weighing about 10 kg, were shipped to Chimitec ALS-Chemex labs in Val-d`Or, Quebec, for gold fire assays with ICP finish, and ICP-MS analysis for other elements.
The Opinaca project (A, A-East, B, and B-North blocks) consists of 616 claims (321 km2). Everton has an option to earn up to 65% interest in the project. Everton is the project operator.
