Öl aus dem Sudan...White Nile Ltd. - 500 Beiträge pro Seite

Hallo,

kennt jemand White Nile Ltd.?

Diese Aktie wird in London und in den USA gehandelt.
Leider bekommt man wenig News zu dieser Firma raus, oder kann mir jemand Quellen nennen, wo ich was dazu bekomme?

Ich habe mir mal eine kleine Position ins Depot gelegt und hoffe hier gleichgesinnte zu treffen die diesen Wert auch kennen, und mit denen man sich austauschen kann.

Warum kaufst du erst die Aktie und dann fragst du nach Infos?

Und ist Sudan nicht interessant:
Nach dem Bürgerkrieg ist dort sicher noch viel Öl im Boden.
Soviele Firmen die Börsennotiert sind gibt es dort meiner Meinung nach nicht.
Und z.Zt. ist der Kurs auch leicht am steigen.
Habe einfach deswegen mich entschlossen eine kleine Position zu kaufen. Hier ist sicher viel möglich, aber ein Totalverlust nicht ausgeschlossen. Nur meine Meinung!

Grausig. Also für mich wär das nix.
Riecht für mich nach Abzocke.
Aber jeder ist für seine Investments im Endeffekt selbst verantwortlich!!

Danke für Deine Meinung.

Die Aktie ist aber schon seit Anfang 2005 an der Börse und kamm dort meines wissens für 10 Pence an die Börse und stieg 2006 bis auf 200 Pence.
Und wenn ich das richtig gelesen habe, wurden für 12 Mio Pfund eine Kapitalerhöhung erfolgreich durchgeführt.
Zudem gibt es ja noch ein Prozess mit Total um die Rechte an einem Ölgebiet.

Hallo

WNL kenne ich sehr gut. Bin bald seit zwei Jahren dabei.

Nach dem Bürgerkrieg wurde das Land in den Süden und den Norden aufgeteilt. WNL hat mit der neuen Regierung im Süden den Vertrag
- Konzession - über die Rechte vom Block Ba gesichert. Wichtig
ist, dass die Regierung vom Süden mit 49% an WNL beteiligt ist.

Nun, Total die Französische Oelfirma pocht jedoch auf die Rechte, welche sie mit der früheren Sudanesichen Regierung über den Block
Ba abgeschlossen hat.

In diesem Block Ba wird mehr als 4,5 Mia Barrel Oel - nicht nur vermutet, sondern es werden soviel, wenn nicht noch mehr dort sein.

Total hat nun eine Klage gegen WNL eingereicht und sagt/beansprucht die vollen Rechte an diesem Block.

Nun wie sind die Chancen/Risiko:

Bei Recht von Total: Totalverlust bei WNL
Bei Recht von WNL: Riesenpotential ver x-Fachnung vom Kurs.

Meine persönliche Meinung ist, dass sich Total und WNL ausergerichtlich finden werden z.B.: Total anrecht auf 40% und WNL auf 60% oder halt anders.

Auf jeden fall birgt in dieser Aktie ein grosses Potential aber
auch der Totalverlust kann nicht ausgeschlossen werden. Auch sollte
die nach wie vor unstabile Lage im Sudan nicht ausser Acht gelassen
werden.

Wie immer an der Börse: No risk no fun, ich werde dabei bleiben.

Totalverlsut bei Prozessverlust vielleicht nicht ganz, weil ja in Äthiopien auch noch was besteht?

Weißt Du evtl. ann der Gerichtstermin ist?
Kann das der 1.2.2007 sein?

Kann mir auch vorstellen das evtl. Total ja auch mal White Nile übernimmt. Das wäre ein Hammer!

Alles keine Fakten.
Mit Wörtern wie "hoffen", "glauben" usw. kann ein Investor nix anfangen.
Ich bleib dabei, für mich ist das reine Abzocke. Die Muster sind bei den ganzen "üblichen Verdächtigen" immer die gleichen:
Es wird viel versprochen und i.d.R. nix gehalten.

Ist aber wie gesagt nur meine ganz persönliche Meinung.

Übernahme ist bestimmt auch nicht ausgeschlossen.

Übrigens, heute hat wieder eine UK Brokerfirma die
Aktie White Nile auf "Sell" verkaufen gesetzt.....

und was macht der Kurs?

Habe jetzt zwei Jahre gewartet - bestimmt wird in diesem Jahr etwas
abgehen. Die ersten Bohrungen sind auf das erste Quartal 2007
angesetzt....

Wo hast Du denn her, dass jemand die auf Sell gesetzt hat?

Der Kurs ist echt gut. Finde immer komsich das kurz vor Börsenschluss in London noch soviel los ist.
Kann mir deswegen vorstellen, das der Kurs in den USA heute auch steigen wird, war in der Vergangenheit ja auch oft so.

Öl und Bodenschätze sind der Grund, warum die Welt wegschaut und China die Regierung offen umwirbt. Die Bodenschätze könnten auch ein Grund dafür sein, daß der Konflikt so blutig wurde.

Auch heute wieder - mehr als T 700 Stück und der Kurs
hat sogar die P 130 geküsst - so kanns weitergehen.

Ja ist schon auffällig finde ich. Zu 135 Pence ging da so einiges über den Tisch.
Die 135 scheint auch so eine Marke zu sein...hoffe die nehmen wir morgen mal in Angriff und gehen auf die 140 zu.

I can hardly believe that I am admitting to this but I have closed my short in White Nile (WNL). I hear that the Froggies at Total are about to do a deal with Phil Edmonds and his gang. I should have known that the cowardly garlic munchers would have had no stomach for a fight. I am told that Phil might be able to spin something worthwhile out of his Sudanese assets. As such it would be imprudent to remain short. Indeed I am tempted to go long as Edmonds is clearly one of the greatest entrepreneurs of our age. Can I really be saying this?

I fear that I have been gripped by some demonic force and have called Brother Aitken around to pray on my behalf and cleanse me of these dark forces which are troubling my mind. Perhaps it is some awful dream. No doubt I shall encounter the grim ferryman who will soon conduct me over a dark river in a boat made of recycled plastic. I shall offer him a penny for my fare but he will refuse saying that price has increased and he now needs an all expenses paid trip to the Napa valley in return for guiding me on the route to investment enlightenment. But no, it is no dream. I am seriously considering buying shares in White Nile. Heaven preserve me.

Ruhe vor dem Sturm oder dann halt wieder eine längere
Seitwärtsbewegung.

Ich jedenfalls bleibe dabei und warte.
Glaube eh, dass wir
bald eine Korrektur an den weltweiten Aktienmärkten
sehen werden.

Oel und Gold werden steigen, dies ist meine Versicherung

UK White Nile, Moldova firm to drill in South Sudan

Jan 23, 2007 (JUBA) — Two oil companies in south Sudan will begin drilling soon and the autonomous government may sign three more contracts with firms hoping to benefit from a north-south peace deal, officials said.

Bullen Bol, head of south Sudan’s government oil company Nile Petroleum Corporation (Nilepet), said Britain’s White Nile and Moldova’s Ascom Group SA, which had both signed concessions in 2005, would soon complete seismic surveys and begin drilling.

"They are about to complete work on the seismic and will soon start drilling," he told Reuters in south Sudan’s capital Juba.

Oil, one of the reasons for the north-south civil war which claimed 2 million lives, remains a contentious issue two years after the January 2005 peace deal. Under the deal, contracts should be agreed by the national petroleum commission, which includes north and south Sudanese officials.

French giant Total SA , which had a contract with the northern government prior to the war, disputes White Nile’s contract with the southern government, which allocates part of Total’s block to the British company. White Nile is 50 percent owned by south Sudan’s Nilepet.

Disputes over the composition of the national petroleum commission has delayed its work. Sudan’s two main oil fields are in south Sudan, but the refineries and pipelines are in the north.

White Nile’s block Ba is in Jonglei state. Ascom’s block 5B is north west of White Nile’s block. Both companies signed their contracts in 2005 after the peace accord.

Ascom’s contract may also cause disputes with the northern government over its validity as, according to Khartoum, that block belongs to a consortium led by Malaysian firm Petronas [PETR.UL]. Nilepet owns 5 percent of Ascom’s concession.

THREE OTHERS

South Sudan Vice President Riek Machar had previously told Reuters that three other companies have signed memorandums of understanding (MOUs) with his government which would likely lead to contracts for other concessions in the south’s oil areas.

Machar could not name the Malaysian and Chinese companies who had MOUs, but said the privately owned Spanish H Oil was the third.

United States sanctions imposed on Sudan since 1997 prevent U.S. companies working in Sudan. Many Western companies pulled out during the war and Sudan’s oil industry, which produces around 330,000 barrels per day, is run mostly by Asian companies.

One source in the southern government who declined to be named said that the MOUs meant the companies were assigned specific blocks, and the southern government would decide if they were technically and financially able to explore before signing contracts.

Those contracts would then be referred to the national petroleum commission for final approval. The source said movement was expected on the new contracts "within the coming months".

Ascom and White Nile are working in swampy areas of south Sudan. Bol said their contracts included provisions that they conduct environmental studies before drilling.

Bol said once oil was found in commercial quantities in Sudan’s south, then decisions on building a refinery and a pipeline to move the crude from the landlocked region would be made.

Danke Scheich, für die Memo; habe sie inzwischen auch
gefunden im Internet.
Sagt eigentlich nicht viel Neues aus, nur dass es vorwärts geht mit dem Bohrprogramm - eigentlich ein positive Meldung.

Kursrelevant ist/wird die Lösung vom Disput zwischen Total und WNL

Ja bin auch schon seit dem Anfang dabei. Habe damals auf dem Niveu von heute gekauft und irgendwann nochmal um die 100 pence herum.
Hoffe auch mal das irgendwann man eine Entscheidung getroffen wird wie es weitergeht.
Was mich wundert ist nur das die Homepage nichts an Daten liefert.
Finde das einwenig negativ.
Aber Hauptsache ist das der Kurs steigt.

...korrekt, verstehe ich auch so.

Entweder wissen da einige mehr oder der Preis wird künstlich
hochgehalten.
Ich tendiere eher für die erste Aussage, den wer kauft schon
Aktien mit dem Hintergrund, dass irgendwann der Preis/Kurs
zusammenbricht.
Jeder kauft doch Aktien mit dem Glaube/Wissen, dass der
Kurs steigt und um Profit zu generieren.

leider nicht gesehen und gefunden.

Ja, Kurs sieht momentan ziemlich stabil aus (zw. 130-140 pence)

welcher auch in London gehandelt wird (z.Zeit 11,75 pence)?

Feb 12, 2007 (PARIS) — French oil major Total SA (TOT) could consider giving the Southern Sudan government a stake in an exploration permit the company is claiming there, in order to oust small U.K. company White Nile Ltd. (WNL.LN) and start exploring a promising area, a Total executive told Dow Jones Newswires.


Jean-Francois Lassalle"We could consider ways to get the Southern Sudan government financially interested in the project," said Jean-Francois Lassalle, public relations director for Total’s exploration and production unit.

Total is in dispute with White Nile, a small company run by a former England cricketer Phil Edmonds, over the right to drill in a politically troubled but promising region of Southern Sudan, covering about 118,000 square kilometers.

Total was awarded the block by the central government in Khartoum in 1980 and performed seismic work until the country’s civil war broke out in 1985. Total’s partners in the block are U.S. oil company Marathon Oil Corp. (MRO) and the foreign arm of Kuwait Petroleum Corp.

Total decided to suspend its work during the war, but paid a retainer fee to the Khartoum government to keep its rights to the block.

When the war ended in 2002, Total aimed to restart exploration there, and entered into talks with Khartoum to amend parts of the existing contract.

But in 2005, White Nile signed a deal with the Sudanese People’s Liberation Movement, a former southern rebel group that now shares powerwith the Khartoum government.White Nile was granted a 60% stake in the block, the remaining 40% being held by Nile Petroleum Corp., the southern government’s own national oil company.

A spokeswoman for White Nile said that the company "has been assured by the Southern Sudan government" that it has the right to explore the disputed block and said the company is "confident it will be able to resist any sort of claims."

White Nile is planning to start exploratory drilling in the block in the first quarter of this year, she said, adding that "a rig is on its way."

Total has brought the case before the U.K. courts, arguing that its 1980 contract is still valid under the peace agreement signed by the Khartoum government and the southern leadership in 2005. White Nile declined to comment further.

The troubled zone, where there are still a few skirmishes, offers great potential, even though the geology, mostly swamps, means challenges from a technology perspective, said Lassalle, who formerly headed Total’s Sudanese operations.

Discoveries by Malaysian oil company Petronas (5681.KU) and Chinese company China National Petroleum Corp., which are also exploring in the region, helped to propel Sudan’s hydrocarbon output to 500,000 barrels a day last year.

The country’s total output is expected to soar to 650,000 barrels of oil equivalent a day in 2007, and 800,000 boe/d in 2008, Lassalle said.

Last week, the Court of Appeal in London granted Total the right to get White Nile to unveil documents, in a pre-action disclosure proceeding ahead of a potential legal suit against White Nile, Lassalle said.

Total has asked to see documents answering questions such as when the directors of White Nile first made contact with the Southern Sudaneseleadership, with whom the directors had contact, what was the nature and the scope of discussions and proposal, and whether the directors had prior knowledge of Total’s rights to the field.

A spokeswoman for White Nile wouldn’t comment on whether the company would appeal the decision before the House of Lords.

Spokesmen for the South Sudanese government weren’t available for comment Monday.

Hallo Scheich;

vermutlich lag der gestrige "Taucher" schon am genannten Artikel.
Ist jedoch nichts neues für mich. Total wird alles daran setzen, damit sie recht bekommen.
Jedoch ist die "Südsudaneschische Regierung" SPLM auch an White Nile (ich glaube mit 49%) beteiligt.
Was mich positiv stimmt ist, dass es runter geht mit kleinen Stückzahlen und danach wird der Kurs mit grossen Blöcken wieder
hochbezahlt.
Klar, Risiko ist vorhanden aber auch eine Verdoppelung oder Verdreifachung liegt problemlos drin.

Marathon wants to sell its stake in block, but rights are unclear

WASHINGTON — Marathon Oil Corp. wants to sell its Sudan investment. The problem: Marathon isn't sure if it still has a Sudan investment to sell.

U.S. economic sanctions and Sudan's civil war have long prevented the Houston company's partnership from drilling in a potentially lucrative oil concession in the south of the turbulent African country.

The war in that region is over, but the sanctions remain. And Marathon's problems do not end there.

Now, the government of southern Sudan says Marathon's partnership, led by French company Total, no longer owns the rights to drill at the concession it has held since 1980.

In November, Marathon said it was "investigating the disposition" of its 32.5 percent stake in the partnership. That would normally mean a sale, but the number of potential buyers is limited.

"I don't know who would invest not knowing how this is going to turn out," said Philippe Vasset, editor of industry publication Africa Energy Intelligence.

Marathon spokesman Paul Weeditz referred specific questions on the Sudan quandary to Total. Weeditz said only: "Over time, Marathon is continually evaluating its portfolio of assets. And some of its decisions involve acquisitions, and some involve sales."

Waiting for partner to leave
An exit by Marathon could solve one of the problems facing Total. Though Marathon cannot be forced to jettison its stake, Total cannot start looking for oil at the concession until its sanctions-bound American partner departs.

With Khartoum accused of perpetuating genocide in an ongoing war in the western province of Darfur, it is unlikely the sanctions will be lifted soon.

"We've certainly got to solve the Marathon issue before drilling," Total spokesman Jean-Francois Lassalle said.

The Total-led partnership claims possession of the long-dormant concession based on a 1980 contract with the central Sudanese government in Khartoum. But in 2005, the southern government, led by rebels who had fought a civil war with Khartoum since 1983, declared that contract invalid.

According to the central government, the 1980 contract gives the Total consortium drilling rights to Block B, a 46,000-square-mile concession. The southern government, controlled by the former Sudan People's Liberation Movement, said Block B has now been divided into blocks Ba, Bb and Bc.

Rights to Ba, the only one of the three blocks awarded by the southern government, now belongs to British firm White Nile, which says it could produce up to 5 billion barrels of oil.

White Nile spokesman Hugo de Salis said the estimate is based on initial seismic tests and the general productivity of the southern Sudan region. But Total argues that no company has done enough exploratory work to offer a valid figure.

Seeing it differently
"It could be that, but it could be half of it. It could be a hundredth of it," Lassalle said.

The Total-Marathon consortium suspended operations in Block B in 1985, two years after the outbreak of the war. After that, according to Total, the consortium made annual payments to Khartoum to maintain its hold on the property. To avoid violating sanctions rules, Marathon said it didn't contribute.

As the war in the south ground to a halt in December 2004, Khartoum and the consortium signed an updated version of the 1980 contract. The renewal angered many of the rebels, who wanted the consortium to deal with them, not the central government, southern foreign affairs officer Costello Garang-Ring said in an interview in the Petroleum Economist in May 2005.

In February 2005, the southerners announced that they would not honor the Khartoum contract and had signed the alternate agreement with White Nile. Under the new deal, south Sudan oil company Nilepet received a 47 percent stake in the British firm and 40 percent of future Block Ba revenues.

Drawing a new map
"The government of south Sudan took the old oil map and drew a new one on top of it," said Diarmid O'Sullivan, an activist with natural resources watchdog Global Witness who visited the region in November.

Sudan's new National Petroleum Commission is charged with settling oil contract disputes. While the commission is not close to a decision on the south Sudan imbroglio, said Vasset, Total may have reason to be optimistic.

"There appears to be a gentlemen's agreement on the ability of the south Sudanese government to award permits, but not on land previously awarded by the Sudanese government," Vasset said.

White Nile is not waiting. Spokesman de Salis said the company plans to drill wells in Block Ba by mid-2007.

Total wants to do its own exploratory drilling, but Lassalle said the company will proceed only after the White Nile dispute is solved — and only after Marathon is out of the picture.

Feb 19, 2007 (LONDON) — White Nile, the AIM-listed oil explorer chaired by the former England cricketer Phil Edmonds, has suffered a court setback in its battle with the French giant Total over a key oil concession in Sudan.

Although White Nile is yet to tell the City about the setback, Small Talk has learnt that on 31 January the group was ordered by the Court of Appeal to disclose documents which confirm its rights over Block Ba in the south of the African country.

The AIM company has long resisted such a move, but following the judgment it has no choice other than to release the documents as the court has refused it permission for any further appeals. Small Talk has also learnt that White Nile has been ordered to contribute to Total’s legal costs.

The dispute centres on White Nile’s rights over 60 per cent of Block Ba, a 67,000-square-kilometre site in southern Sudan that is the company’s key asset. In February 2005, it secured the concession from the government of southern Sudan. However, Total has claimed all along that this infringes on exploration rights it won from the country’s central government in Khartoum in 1980. The two companies have been locked in a court battle for more than a year,.

But, it is hard to understand why White Nile has been so determined not to hand over the documents. After all, it is these very documents that prove its rights to Block Ba. By disclosing them, it could have saved itself a lot of time, effort and legal cost.

In its judgment, the Court of Appeal noted White Nile had never given any convincing reasons as to why the documents should not be handed over. When contacted by Small Talk, a spokesman for the company said: "White Nile does not believe that the British High Court is an appropriate forum to determine the rights to oil resources in southern Sudan." He added that the company is convinced it has full title over Block Ba.

Small Talk has always taken the view White Nile is one of the riskiest investments on AIM. This latest episode only goes to support our view. As do recent comments from Sudan’s oil minister. In December, Awad Ahmed al-Jaz described White Nile’s exploration licence in the south of the country as "illegal". He argued that the French oil major was legally entitled to explore the area and that the Guernsey-registered company would have to leave the area.

Mr Ahmed al- Jaz is a representative of Sudan’s central government in Khartoum. White Nile’s licence was granted to it by an autonomous authority in the south of the country which fought a bitter war with the Khartoum government for 20 years until an uneasy peace was struck in January 2005.

But, despite the risks associated with White Nile’s venture, it has secured backing for a series of fund-raising measures since its flotation in early 2005. The most recent saw it raise pounds 12m in November. It plans to start drilling on the disputed site in the next six months.

nicht besonders gut aus für WNL.

Aber eben, die ganze Wahrheit wissen wir nicht.

Und wie schon oft erwähnt - WNL ist ein high risk Investment
aber auch die Gewinnchancen sind dementsprechend gigantisch...

White Nile Ltd, the AIM listed oil and gas exploration company, is pleased to
announce an update on its activities with regard to the Block Ba concession area
in Southern Sudan.


The contracted drill rig, having been imported from Europe, has now arrived in
Africa and is being transported to the Block Ba concession area. The Company,
following extensive seismic work on the block, has identified numerous drill
targets and has prioritised four where it believes the productive Muglad Basin
extends into the concession area, including one large structure of over 50 sq
km. The spudding of the first exploration well is targeted for early in the
second quarter of 2007.


The Environmental and Social Impact Assessment ('ESIA') study to determine the
environmental, social, technical and economic aspects of developing the oil
potential of the concession area, including the construction of access roads,
accommodation camps and eventually an oil refinery, processing plant and
pipeline, is in the process of being finalised. ESF Consultants, an independent
environmental management consultancy, is leading the ESIA.


The scoping phase of the ESIA has included extensive public consultation to
ensure that stakeholders' contributions are taken into account within all
studies and developments. Response from all the local communities has been
positive. They are supportive of the development of oil within the Block Ba
concession and they have an understanding that through the equity holding in
White Nile by the state owned oil company of the Government of Southern Sudan,
Nile Petroleum Corporation ('Nile Pet'), the people of Southern Sudan will be
major beneficiaries in the development of Block Ba.


With regard to the claim made by French oil company, Total E&P Soudan SA
("Total"), regarding Block Ba, White Nile would like to take this opportunity of
updating the market on the current situation, following recent press comment and
speculation. Shareholders should already be aware that in mid 2005 Total made a
pre-action disclosure application to the Court in London concerning a request
for disclosure of documentation with regard to the title rights over Block Ba.
White Nile and the Government of Southern Sudan have consistently maintained
that such an issue is not a matter for which the English Courts are an
appropriate venue.


However, following a Court of Appeal judgment, which has not addressed the issue
of justiciability, White Nile is now required to disclose to Total ten
categories of documents referred to in the Company's AIM admission document of
19 May 2005. Notwithstanding the Court of Appeal decision, both White Nile and
the Government of Southern Sudan maintain that the question of the rights over
the Block Ba concession area is a matter which should not be decided by the
Courts in England. It should also be noted that the Court of Appeal's decision
relates only to the pre-action disclosure application and no substantive
proceedings have yet been instituted by Total.


As shareholders will be also aware, in the May 2005 transaction the Government
of Southern Sudan, through its state owned petroleum company Nile Pet,
transferred a 60% interest in Block Ba to White Nile in return for a 50% equity
stake in the Company. The remaining 40% interest in the block was retained by
Nile Pet.


Having finalised the interpretation of the extensive seismic data over the
extension of the Muglad Basin carried out with the full support of the
Government of Southern Sudan and the local communities, the Board looks forward
to commencing drilling on Block Ba and assisting in expediting the development
of the oil industry in Southern Sudan.

Auch einige News der letzten Tage - Bohrbeginn im 2. Quartal 07 -
werden nochmals bestätigt.

Aber trotzdem, wollen sich neue Investoren nicht begeistern für
diesen Titel. Als Grund kann nur der Disput mit Total sowie
die politisch unsichere Lage im Sudan sein.

über das Projekt in Ethiopia weiß ich leider nicht viel. Wird z.Zt. auch wenig drüber gemeldet.
Aber immerhin haben sie damit ein 2. Standbein.
Kann ja nicht schaden.

Der Gerichtstermin kann doch gar nicht mehr solange hin sein.
Weil ich kann es nicht verstehen:
Sie wollen jetzt bald mit den Bohrungen starten ohne das geklärt ist ob Ihnen überhaupt das Gebiet gehört.
Was ist wenn Total aufeinmal dort auch bohrt????
Wobei das Gebiet ja groß ist.....wäre doch schon prima wenn beide hälfte/hälfte machen würden.

Und wenn die Regierung vom Südsudan damit drinsteckt kann ich mir nicht vorstellen das Total das ganze Gebiet für sich beanspruchen kann.

habe hier was von der HP herauskopiert bzgl. Ethiopia.
Das Agreement endet ja auch in diesem Jahr wenn ich das richtig verstanden habe bzw. bis dahin sollen wohl resultate gemeldelt werden. Oder wie siehst Du das?

White Nile agreed terms with the Ministry of Mines of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia for a Joint Study Agreement covering the area of southern Ethiopia known as the ‘Southern Rift Basins’. The approximate 70,000 sq km area is adjacent to Petronas’ Gambela Block in the north and borders Southern Sudan and Kenya to the south.

The Agreement signed in July 2005 was for a two year period which White Nile, in collaboration with the Petroleum Operations Department of the Ministry of Mines, will conduct geological and geophysical studies aimed at evaluating the prospective nature of the area for oil. At the conclusion of the Agreement period, or at any time before that, the terms allow the Company to enter exclusive negotiations with the Ministry of Mines for an Exploration and Production Sharing Agreement.

Exploration in the area is based on the geological concept that the petroliferous Cretaceous and Early Tertiary basins of Southern Sudan extend south-eastwards beneath the younger and less prospective East African rifts.

White Nile has completed the first half of its initial geophysical programme of magneto-telluric and gravity surveys in the ‘Southern Rift Basins’. Preliminary interpretation of data already gathered is now underway, which once completed should enable us to understand the future prospectively of the region

...ja, korrekt.

Die ersten geologischen Daten wurden erhoben und sind
unterwegs zur Auswertung. Danach soll entschieden werden,
ob/wie an diesem Projekt weitergemacht wird, rspkt wie
ob die Zusammenarbeit mit dem Ministerium von Ethiopia
verlängert wird.

Also, hoffen wir auf gute Resultate, den bei diesem Projekt
gibt es keinen Disput!

man bedenkt wie zum Teil andere Titel, auch aus

...mit einer Korrektur musste man rechnen.
Ich bin schon seit letztem Herbst short auf den Index,
immer wieder gerollt. Nun, jetzt bin ich bei dieser
Position wieder Break Even. Aus meiner Sicht kanns ruhig
nochmals 5-10% runter gehen, damit diese DayTrader, Spekulanten
usw. wieder vom Markt verschwinden.
Langfristig denke ich jedoch sollte wir wieder höhere Kurse
sehen. Bin schon lange im Geschäft und solche Verluste sind
bald wieder aufgeholt. Wichtig ist, nur mit Geld an der Börse
zu investieren, welches man langfristig nicht braucht.

Bin eigentlich nur noch in Oel-und Gastitel, bei einigen
Goldminen drinnen sowie zwei PP. Die anderen Papier(Pharma, Banken, Versicherungen usw. sollen die Industriellen und Pensionskassen kaufen....

Nun zu WNL: ich glaube der Schlusskurs war 130

Ich habe vorhin eine Meldung zu White Nile im Reuters gesehen.
Lass sich ganz gut.
Die Ausrüstung ist in Mombasa angekommen und wird auf ca 100 Trucks verladen, die auch beschützt werden sollen von der Regierung im Südsudan. In 4 Jahren soll Öl dann gepumpt werden. Hoffe ich habe das alles so richtig aufgefast.
Muss mal gucken ob der Artikel im Internet zu finden ist.
Sind 4 Jahre aber nicht einwneig lang?
Naja, was lange währt, wird hoffentlich gut.

Dort ist auch eine aktuelle Conference call zu sehen bzw zu hören.

Ich könnte mir vorstelle das es hier deutlich nach oben gehen kann.
Das hat man letztes Jahr auch gesehen...da ging es mal ca 100 Prozent nach oben. Dann kam eine Meldung und der Kurs war dadurch länger ausgesetzt...das war für den Kurs natürlich schlecht.

Und auch hier ist wie bei White Nile Central African Mining mit im Boot.
Und der Kurs von Central African Mining ist auch mal von 7 pence auf knapp 100 pence gestiegen. Dann gab es dort eine Korrektur.
Mittlerweile sind sogar Empfehlungen von BB auf Central African Mining rausgegangen.

Könnte mir vorstellen das auch Central African Gold mal in den Fokus der Öffentlichkeit gelangt.
Die Story stimmt zumindestens, finde ich.

White Nile optimistic, South Sudan oil confirmed in 2007
Wednesday 7 March 2007 05:00.

March 6, 2007 (LONDON) —White Nile Ltd. (WNL.LN) is "very optimistic" that the presence of oil will be confirmed in its South Sudan block this year following the start of drilling, Chief Executive Phil Edmonds said Tuesday.

Small U.K. company White Nile is in a dispute with French oil major Total SA (TOT) over the right to drill the 67,000-square-kilometers Block Ba.

Edmonds said that a first well should be drilled next month and two more this year, following the arrival of a Romanian rig through the Kenyan port of Monbasa.

He said that, after extensive seismic work on the block, the company estimates the block could hold 5 billion barrels of oil in place. Edmonds said that 11 prospects have been identified, including one with possibly 1.175 billion barrels in place.

Development director Andrew Groves added three more wells are planned next year, though the program may be upgraded if 2007 drilling goes beyond expectations.

He said that, once its has better visibility on the location of oil reserves, the company would work on the construction of a $1.4 billion oil pipeline. He said the pipeline could be possibly linked to Uganda - where oil is also being developed - and in the direction of Monbasa.

White Nile and Total claims right on the same block. The U.K. company says its contract is valid because it was granted a license by the autonomous government of South Sudan. But Total says it was previously awarded rights to explore in the same location by Sudan’s central government.

Mid-2005, Total made a disclosure application in a London court to request disclosure of documentation on White Nile’s title rights over Block Ba.

But Edmonds said a "case should be in Juba (capital of the autonomous South Sudan), should there be a court case." He said the information regarding its license had already been disclosed in a May 2005 regulatory document.

Groves said no talks are taking place with the French company and White Nile "wants nothing to do with Total."

Total said last month it may offer a stake in the project to the South Sudan government. But Groves pointed that, as part of the license deal, Nile Petroleum, a concern owned by the government of South Sudan, received a 50% stake in White Nile.

He said the South Sudan example should be compared to countries such as Venezuela or Russia, where the influence of oil majors such as Total is challenged by state-owned companies.

Groves said White Nile had already started a social program, including the construction of a road and a dyke and a mine-clearance program.

Chairman's Statement
It gives me great pleasure to report on the Company's progress towards fulfilling its objective of becoming a leading independent oil producer focused on Southern Sudan and the immediate region.

During the period under review we have made great progress at our flagship project, the 67,000 sq km Block Ba in Southern Sudan. Having implemented and interpreted an extensive seismic programme, we have identified numerous drill targets and our first drill rig is on site and due to spud in April 2007.

Southern Sudan

In the last 18 months, White Nile has worked with leading oil industry consultants and operatives and conducted an extensive seismic acquisition programme on parts of Block Ba, in order to advance the block to production. Following the interpretation of high-density 2D seismic, we have identified numerous drill targets and prioritised four where we believe the productive Muglad Basin extends into the concession area, including one large structure of over 50 sq km. The contracted drill rig has been imported from Europe and is now on-site ready for the first well to be spudded in April 2007. This occasion signifies an important milestone for White Nile and underlines the significant progress the Company is making.

In addition to proving and developing the oil potential of Block Ba in Southern Sudan, White Nile is also focussed on building a significant community development programme to ensure the local communities benefit appropriately during the whole life of White Nile's operations. The Company has taken a proactive role in the education of local workers, the provision of general tools and equipment to the community, logistical support to Government of Southern Sudan ('GOSS') officials in the immediate area and the development of infrastructure. White Nile employed over 1,000 local Southern Sudanese people to help repair 20 km of man made dyke between Jalle and Maar. Furthermore, it has invested significant sums in a land mine clearance operation undertaken by The Development Initiative in the specific areas of seismic operation and on key roads and villages primarily in the Bor/Padak area.

The Company has commissioned an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment ('ESIA') study, which determines the environmental, social, technical and economic aspects of developing the oil potential of the concession area. This includes the local infrastructure of the area, namely the construction of access roads, accommodation camps and eventually an oil refinery, processing plant and pipeline. The ESIA is being carried out by ESF Consultants, a Kenyan based independent environmental management consultancy.

White Nile's position with regard to the exploration and development rights over Block Ba and the rival claim by the French oil company, Total E&P Soudan S.A ('Total'), remains the same. Following assurances from the GOSS that it had the right to issue exploration and development concessions on land in Southern Sudan, the Company signed an agreement over two years ago with the state-owned petroleum company, Nile Petroleum Corp ('NilePet'), for the exploration and development of Block Ba. In that transaction, NilePet received a 50% shareholding in White Nile in return for a 60% interest in Block Ba, with the remaining 40% interest being retained by NilePet.

In recent weeks Total has mounted a public-relations attack on White Nile and has reaffirmed its suggestion that it has rights to develop Block Ba under the terms of an agreement with the government in Khartoum in 1980. However, the autonomous GOSS has transferred all the non producing oil concessions in Southern Sudan to its state-owned petroleum company, NilePet, which has the power to negotiate development agreements, such as that which exists with White Nile. In this context, NilePet has, in addition, entered into an agreement with Ascom a European oil production company, for the exploration and development of Block 5b, which is contiguous to Block Ba in Southern Sudan.

Total has also brought into question whether White Nile has the ability to explore and subsequently develop an area with such high potential. The Company's structure lends itself to efficiency and good practice. It is able to choose from among the best in the world within their respective fields in seismic, demining, security, drilling and pipeline and refinery development, while taking into account the local environment and your board has no doubt over White Nile's ability to develop Block Ba.

Within 18 months White Nile has conducted seismic acquisition on parts of Block Ba. The interpretation of this seismic data has yielded a number of prospects, three of which the Company intends to drill this year.

Ethiopia

The Joint Study with the Ethiopian Government's Petroleum Operations Division over the prospective East African Rift system in the southwest of the country is progressing well. On-going geological and geophysical work over this emerging exploration play has so far yielded positive results with detailed gravity surveys indicating prospective depths of sediments in the northern extension of the Turkana Rift system. Support for these results has been obtained from complementary magneto-telluric ('MT') soundings undertaken in early 2006. Follow-up MT work is expected to reinforce this interpretation.

Preliminary geological studies utilising apatite fission track analyses has indicated two possible phases of rifting, which support White Nile's exploration play of superimposed Cretaceous and Tertiary rifts systems with a concomitant enhanced petroleum potential. In addition, the Joint Study Area is to benefit from a regional airborne gravity and magnetic survey that will also cover highly prospective areas of adjacent Kenya and South Sudan. These are expected to highlight new areas of prospectivity within the region.

Results

White Nile remains focussed on the development of its oil concessions in Southern Sudan. The Company is still in the exploration stage and therefore is not producing revenue. In line with expectations, the Company is reporting a pre-tax loss of GBP699,200 (2006: loss of GBP515,434).

Conclusion

The past six months have seen many positive developments for White Nile. With our committed Board and management team, continued support from the GOSS, local authorities and people, and with the infrastructure and resources in place, we believe that White Nile will become a leading oil producing company in Southern Sudan and the immediate area.

We have strong connections with many industry specialists in seismic, de-mining, security, drilling, environmental consultancy and pipeline and refinery development to bring Block Ba eventually into oil production, whilst taking into account the local environment, people and development of Southern Sudan. With the spudding of our first drill target scheduled for April, we have reached the next phase in our development. We are looking forward to the next six months and the exciting developments that we believe will come from the 2007 drilling development programme.

White Nile's structure enables the owners of the resource, in this case the GOSS and the People of Southern Sudan, not only significant control but also, through their shareholding in White Nile, access to world capital markets and the ability to bring in technical expertise to develop Block Ba.

Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to thank most particularly the people and the Government of Southern Sudan and the local communities, the real owners of the resources of Block Ba, for their help, cooperation and support. Zahlen sind nicht so wichtig, wichtig ist, dass es vorwärts
geht (siehe unten) und noch wichtiger, wann endlich der Disput mit
TOTAL gelöst wird.

The explorer, which has been involved in a war of words with French oil major Total over the rights to White Nile’s 67,000 sq km exploration block in southern Sudan, today reported a widening of losses to GBP700,000 in the six months to the end of December.

“With little proven data on the potential size of its reserves, the shares have been the subject of a two-way pull between industry backers like the RAB Capital hedge fund and bear raider Simon Cawkwell.” commented the Evening Standard today.

Hoffe der funktioniert, dann könnt ihr selbst nachlesen.
Ich bin seit über einem Jahr bei White Nile investiert und habe und verfolge auch andere afrikanische Werte (lebe selbst seit fast sechs Jahren in Ostafrika). Keine Ahnung wie die Sache mit TOTAL ausgeht, wenn ich's wüsste würde ich entweder zukaufen oder verkaufen...
White Nile ist sicherlich nicht nur deswegen, sondern vor allem wg. der politischen Situation im Sudan ein recht riskanter Wert. Ein großes Plus für das Unternehmen sind aber sicherlich die offensichtlich sehr guten Beziehungen zur südsudanesischen Regierung. Und Öl gibt es dort massenweise. D.h. wenn alles gut geht, ist der Wert sicherlich ein Vervielfacher.

Der Rechtsstreit besteht weiterhin, aber White Nile bohrt. Ist das im Sudan erlaubt, weil in Deutschland kann man doch erstmal eine Einstweillige Verfügung beantragen. In der Schweiz bestimmt doch auch.
Also ist es für mich positiv das Total nichts unternommen hat, bzw. es ist nichts an die Öffentlichkeit gekommen.

Commences Drill Programme with First Well in Southern Sudan



White Nile Ltd, the AIM listed oil and gas exploration company, is pleased to announce the commencement of drilling operations with the spudding of the Kedelai exploration well in Block Ba, 200 km due north of Juba, in the Jonglei State of Southern Sudan.



Kedelai was spudded at 13.15 hrs. local time on 19 April 2007 and is being drilled to determine the hydrocarbon bearing potential of the south-eastern extension of the Muglad basin. The well will be drilled to a total depth of circa 2,400 metres (7,850 ft.) with completion targeted for mid May.



Following the interpretation of high-density 2D seismic shot in the last 12 months, the Company gained a clear understanding of the prospectivity of the Jonglei sub-basin of the Muglad Basin. A sedimentary section of up to 7 km in thickness and rift structures suitable for forming hydrocarbon traps were clearly shown, which are analogous to the producing South Sudanese Thar Jath, Mala, Heglig and Unity oilfields of the Muglad Basin to the northwest of Block Ba. In this way the geological conditions pertaining to the formation of oilfields in the Muglad Basin (Blocks 1, 2, 4 and 5A) have been extrapolated into the Jonglei sub-basin in Block Ba. Blocks 1, 2 and 5A host the known Unity, Heglig and Thar Jath oilfields that have estimated oil in place of circa 600 million, 550 million and 1 billion barrels respectively. The interpretation of the seismic data also allowed White Nile to identify numerous structures of which a number were prioritised, with the Kedelai well targeting one such structure.



White Nile Chairman, Phil Edmonds, said, “This is a major milestone in the development of White Nile. The seismic revealed a number of exciting targets one of which we are now drilling. In spudding this well we are entering into the next phase of our development aimed at bringing Block Ba into its productive phase. It is not only a key moment for White Nile but it is also a milestone for the people of Southern Sudan. Through the equity holding in White Nile by the state owned oil company of the Government of Southern Sudan, Nile Petroleum Corporation, the people will be major beneficiaries in the development of Block Ba. April 20, 2007 (JUBA, Sudan) — British oil company White Nile has started drilling its first well in a disputed 67,000 square km (25,870 sq mile) concession in semi-autonomous south Sudan, a company official said on Friday.

French energy company Total SA disputes White Nile’s contract with the south Sudan government, which has given the British company part of an oil exploration block that the central government had allocated to Total.

Philip Ward, White Nile’s chief operations officer in south Sudan, said drilling had started on Thursday on the well, in a remote and "extremely challenging" area 200 km north of the southern capital of Juba. It is due to be completed within 29 days. He said the well would be 2,400 metres deep.

"We will know hopefully within 45 days the potential hydrocarbons in the area," Ward said, adding that the firm would take 60 metres of coring for analysis to determine the type of oil and viscosity.

White Nile, which is 50 percent owned by south Sudan’s state petroleum firm Nilepet, has estimated that it has 3 billion to 5 billion barrels of oil in its block Ba concession, but it will take four years before oil starts to flow from the concession.

The same block was part of a larger concession assigned to Total by the Khartoum government before the country’s 21-year north-south civil war, which ended with a 2005 peace agreement that gave the south semi-autonomous status.

The former southern rebels who now dominate the government of south Sudan divided up Total’s block and assigned part of it to White Nile. Most of Sudan’s oil lies in the landlocked south, although refineries and pipelines are in the north.

Much of White Nile’s block in Jonglei state is part of a huge swampy area in the south, called the Sudd.

sieht wirklich danach aus, dass schon alles (Bohrungen) im Kurse
eskomptiert ist.

Alle wissen, dass da viel Oel vorhanden ist - aber alle fragen sich, wem gehört das schwarze Gold ? ! ?

Ohne Neuigkeiten betreffend Dispute with Total wird sich der Kurs
wahrscheinlich im Range der vergangenen Wochen bewegen.

Also, wer eine Ahnung hat, wie es mit der Gerichtsverhandlung
mit Total steht (Termin, Ausganug, assumptions usw.) soll sich doch bitte
hier melden.

May 7, 2007 (BOR, South Sudan) — Bor community leaders say White Nile Limited ( WNK.LN), a UK oil company will go ahead with oil exploration in Block BA in Jonglei state in Southern Sudan — an area a French giant oil Company Total SA (TOT) claims the right to, when it signed agreement with then Government of Sudan back in 1980 — despite a pending court case against White Nile Ltd.

Reacting to Total’s decision to take White Nile Limited to a court in UK over the rights to explore oil in Block BA, the governor of Jonglei state Phillip Thon Leek said, “a court in the UK has no right to decide who I should give my land to carry oil exploration in”.

The governor added that Total’s signed an agreement with the then Government of Southern Sudan without involving Southern Sudanese — who he says — have the right to decide on how their natural resources are managed. He said Total’s link to Khartoum will not resolve dispute over the concession.

White Nile Ltd has already embark on series of community development projects among them working on the roads linking 3 counties of Bor in Jonglei state, providing employment to skilled and unskilled people from the community, drilling of boreholes to provide water for domestic use, building schools and health centres as well as supplying Satellite Communications systems in the state according to a White Nile official.

Leek said the state will support White Nile to accomplish some of the community projects that it has initiated.

“White Nile Ltd is one the oil companies that is committed to community development and environmental conservation unlike other oil companies operating in other parts of southern Sudan such as those in the Unity and Upper Nile state”, said Leek.

He added that White Nile has promised to provide scholarships to 20 students in universities and colleges in East Africa and United Kingdom though the details of the scholarships have not been officially announced.

The Commissioner of Bor County, Jok Aring said the community has welcomed White Nile Ltd since it is committed to community development. “White Nile is an honest partner in development and company that is committed to the welfare of the people of Southern Sudan and people of Jonglei state”, he said.

The leaders were quick to point out that White Nile Ltd “must produced a transparent and honest environmental impact and social assessment report prior to any drilling operations in the concession”. White Nile started drilling oil in Jalle, one of the 3 potential wells in Block BA on the 19th April 2007. White Nile Ltd, through independent Environmentalistes Sans Frontieres (ESF) has produced Environmental Impact and Social Assessment report (EIA/EISA) report as demanded by the leaders.

In a telephone interview from France, Total’s Director of Public Relations, Jean-Francois Lassalle said Total is negotiating with the government of Southern Sudan and the Government of National Unity on ways of solving the disputes.

“The dispute over Block BA in Jonglei state is highly political and we don’t want to meddle in the political affairs of Sudan”, he said.

He alleged that White Nile Ltd signed the agreement to explore oil in Block BA with “some individuals in the government of Southern Sudan and not government of southern Sudan as an authority over the region”. However, according to a White Nile official, the government of Southern Sudan through its national oil company, Nile Petroleum Company owns 50 per cent stake in the block and White Nile own the other half. The official maintains that no individuals in the government of southern Sudan own shares in White Nile Ltd.

Lassalle said White Nile Ltd has no technological capability to carry out successful oil exploration in an area — which he says — is mostly swampy.

Total has brought the case before the UK courts, maintaining that its 1980 contract with then Government of Sudan is still valid under the Comprehensive Peace Agreement signed by the National Congress Party and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement 2005 and succeeded in getting White Nile to unveil documents and contracts details with the government of southern Sudan.

Under the CPA, the government of southern Sudan receives 50 per cent of all oil revenues produced in the South. The CPA also states that all oil contracts signed before the signing of the CPA shall not be open to negotiation.

Total has hinted that it will offer the Government of Southern Sudan a stake in the disputed oil field if GOSS allows the Total to explore oil in Block BA.

As at now Total has no access to the area according to directives from the government of Southern Sudan.

Oder wie siehst Du das?

habe leider auch keine Erklärungen für den schrittweise Kursrückgang. Das Einzige was mich beruhigt ist, dass das Volumen
sehr gering ist.

Vielleicht sind es ein paar ungeduldige Investierte, bei denen es zu lange dauert bis ewtas passiert.

Nun, das Ganze ist schon "very high risky" ---> entweder ein Verdreifacher oder mehr oder dann wirklich nur noch ein paar pence.

Nun, ich warte jetzt schon zwei Jahre und kann gut und gerne nochmals zwei Jahre warten.....

Southern Sudan Update



White Nile Ltd, the AIM listed oil and gas exploration company, is awaiting official notification from the Government of Southern Sudan as to the conclusion of negotiations taking place in Khartoum, between representatives of the governments of Northern and Southern Sudan in regards to oil exploration and production issues in Southern Sudan. These encompass all oil licence areas in Southern Sudan including Block Ba, where White Nile has its rights granted by the Government of Southern Sudan. White Nile has received early indications that the discussions will establish clarity of title for Block Ba and the Company will update its shareholders when official clarification has been obtained.



The Company is also pleased to announce an update on its drilling programme in Southern Sudan. Its first exploration well, Kedelai-1, situated in Block Ba 200 km north of Juba in the Jonglei State of Southern Sudan, spudded on 19 April 2007. With the onset of the rainy season, activity on the drill site as planned has been temporarily suspended, with the well at a total depth of 2,408m. The rig is being cold stacked on the well location and drilling will be resumed at the beginning of the next dry season - Q4 2007. Following resumption of drilling, the Company plans to extend Kedelai-1 to approximately 3,000m to evaluate reservoir objectives in the Aradeiba and Bentiu formations.



White Nile is also preparing additional drilling locations on two further prospects identified through its initial seismic programme in the Jonglei State. This is where the Company believes the Muglad Basin, which is productive at Thar Jath, Mala, Heglig and Unity to the northwest of Block Ba, extends into the concession area.



Furthermore, the Company is currently concluding plans to perform a 2D seismic survey in the Pibor Post basin in the eastern part of Block Ba approximately 200 km to the east of the the current drilling operations. Seismic shooting will begin at the beginning of the next dry season.

It is understood that the Government of Southern Sudan is involved in continuing negotiations on a number of other issues and has not yet had the opportunity to make official comment on the outcome of the negotiations re oil issues. White Nile remains confident of a positive outcome and hopes that it will be able to provide further information, as soon as possible, on its rights in Block Ba, awarded to White Nile by the Government of Southern Sudan.

Danke für die News, habe es soeben auch gesehen. War heute ausnahmsweise mal unterwegs und nicht im Büro vor dem PC und schon
verpasst man etwas.....
Nun, endlich wieder einmal Bewegung im Share price. Es stellt sich nun wirklich die Frage, hat WNL die Rechte oder nicht. Ich denke das WNL Board hat dies in der Zwischenzeit auch gemerkt und setzen alles daran um hier Klarheit zu schaffen (siehe auch Meldung).
Sehe ich übrigens positiv!

Die andere Meldung, Aussetzung der Bohraktivitäten infolge Regenperiode, bis Ende QIII 07, sehe ich eher negativ.

Eine profesionelle Bohrmanschaft (Bohrunternehmung) sollte eigentlich bei jedem Wetter, die Bohrungen durchführen können....
Naja, es handelt sich um eine rumänsiche Gesellschaft -- oder verstehe ich hier etwas falsch.

Nun, wie können den andere Explorer in der Artkis und auf dem offenen Meer bei jedem Wetter die Bohraktivitäten durchführen...

Wahrscheinlich wussten einige schon gestern, dass über eine neue
Aufteilung der Besitzerverhältnisse verhandelt wird (siehe Text).
Dies rechtfertigt der gestrige Kurstaucher....

Falls dies offiziell bestätigt wird - 15% Anteil von WNL - muss
ich mein Investement überdenken.

Sudan partners agree on new deal over Total-White Nile block

May 31, 2007 (KHARTOUM) — Sudan’s partners in the government of national unity reportedly sealed a deal to resolve the row over an oil concession awarded to the French Total by the federal government and to a UK small firm by Government of Southern Sudan (GOSS).

Various reports say that a new consortium is being created. Under the terms of this deal, 25% of the concession will go to the government of Southern Sudan, 25% to Total, 15% to the national oil company (Sudapet), 15% to White Nile Company and 20% to the Southern Sudan oil company (Nilepet).

But the Juba based newspaper, the Citizen, said that Total Oil Company rejected the proposed deal while the White Nile appeared in agreement with it.

In an editorial about the issue, Alfred Taban, the Editor in Chief of Khartoum Monitor, said that the southern Sudan people were the ultimate loser in this deal. Taban said that the Southern Sudan government has violated the terms of the CPA by allowing the White Nile to continue working in the area.

He added that the White Nile turned out to be “an opportunity for the National Congress to hit at GOSS and SPLM”. The small British firm “had become a hot potato just like Abyei issue” Taban said.

The oil rich area of Abyei and the White Nile contract issue were among the issues examined by the technical committee formed by the NCP and SPLM to resolve difficulties in the peace agreement’s implementation.

In light of the fall in the Company’s share price, the White Nile has asked the GoSS to immediately issue a statement outlining the new agreement they reached, with regard to oil exploration and production issues in Southern Sudan.

The White Nile oil company expressed confidence in a statement released today “of a positive outcome and hopes that it will be able to provide further information, as soon as possible, on its rights in Block Ba.”

The British firm further said it has temporarily suspended activity on its exploration well, Kedelai-1, in the Jonglei state due to the start of the rainy season. They said that drilling will resume in the fourth quarter of this year.

However sources told the Citizen that the White Nile activities have actually been suspended indefinitely. At the same time Acuil Malith Bangol, White Nile’s social and political consultant, told Reuters the company had received a letter on May 19 from South Sudan President Salva Kiir ordering a suspension of its operations.

The two partners of the national unity government have adjourned a meeting that supposed to adopt a compromise over the two issues: Abyei and the White Nile. However they did not set a new date for the meeting.

mach ich.

Wenn White Nile 15 Prozent abbekommen würde, wäre das nicht trotzdem okay?
Habe leider keine Ahnung davon wie viel ÖL dort liegt, aber nach dem was man so mitbekommen hat soll ja dort genug Öl sein.
Dann wären 15 Prozent okay, denke ich. Weiß allerdings dann nicht wo der faire Wert der Aktie wäre.
Aber hätte natürlich auch gehofft das sie mehr Prozente bekommen würden.

Glaubst Du das Total evtl. die 15 Prozent von White Nile kaufen würde?
Wäre vielleicht auch nicht so schlecht....wenn der Kurs stimmen würde.

Gut ist aber das mittlerweile ja wieder Umsatz an der Börse stattfindet.

ich glaube jetzt pendelt der Kurs um die 100-110 pence ein, bis
weitere News kommen....

Oel ist genug da, es wurden einmal von 4 Mia Barrel gesprochen.
Jetzt kann man natürlich spielen - ich weiss nicht wieviel die Produtkionskosten sein werden. Zur Zeit wird für das Barrel etwas über 60 Dollar bezahlt, wenn die Produktionskosten sagen wir etwa 30 Dollar je Barrrel sind, bleiben 30 Dollar als Profit übrig.
Diese multipliziert mit 4 Mia so sprechen wir etwa von 12 Mia USD.
davon WNL 15% gibt etwa 1,8 Mia Wert.

Natürlich wird es noch Infrastrukturkosten usw. geben. Aber so ca. eine Grössenordnung sagen diese Zahlen schon aus.

Es kann natürlich gut möglich sein, dass noch mehr Oel vorhanden sein wird.

Auf jeden Fall ist immer noch genügend Spielraum für Kurssteigerungen vorhanden ABER auch viel Ungewisses. Wie geht es weiter, kriegt WNL 15% mehr oder weniger und auch das politische Risiko gilt es nicht ausser acht zu lassen.

Nun, ich werde mein Investment in WNL weiter verfolgen, wie gesagt alles ist möglich.....

Und wie man auch gesehen hat können kleine Volumen den Kurs in die eine oder andere Richtung schnell bewegen.

White Nile oil company loses drilling rights in Sudan oil field

June 6, 2007 (KHARTOUM) — The British oil firm White Nile Ltd. (WNL.LN), has been kicked out of the disputed Block Ba in southern Sudan following a deal by the two major partners in the government of the national unity, Sudan Tribune has learned.

The French oil company Total SA (TOT) has assumed control of the the entire Block B after an agreement reached last week by the National Congress Party (NCP) and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM). Under the terms of the deal the president of the southern Sudan cancelled the contract signed with the WNL.

Sources confirmed to Sudan Tribune that Total has operating rights for the block with a 32.5 percent stake, as it was the case in the initial deal, Kuwaiti Kufpec Sudan Ltd 27.5 percent instead of 25% and state-owned Sudapet maintains its 10 percent, the southern Sudan government owned Nilepet 10%. The remaining 20% should be offered in a public bid.

However the US based Marathon Oil Corp. (MRO) which is Total’s partner in Block B, announced its withdrawal from the consortium as it is bound by US laws that prevent firms from doing business in Sudan.

The disputed Block Ba, is a 67,000-kilometer tract within Block B, an area the size of Greece thought to contain large reserves of oil.

The White Nile will be reimbursed for the costs incurred in its first oil contract. Las December, the Aim-listed oil explorer, has raised £12m to finance an appraisal drilling programme in Sudan.

Total suspended exploration activities in Sudan from 1985 to 2004 because the area where Block B is located was no longer secure. The French oil company is paying $1.5 million a year to the government of Sudan for the right to keep its non-producing Block. While the White Nile was granted the rights by Sudan People’s Liberation Army two years ago. The SPLA then set up a semi-autonomous government in the south following a peace accord with Khartoum in early 2005.

This radical shift from the southern Sudan government indicates clearly that the president o the southern Sudan disapproves the management of his deputy of this important issue. Riek Machar was a firm supporter of the British firm.

At the end of last May , Salva Kiir ordered a freeze on oil exploration in Jonglei state. Kiir also formed a committee to investigate the controversial White Nile oil company, headed by ex-England cricketer Phil Edmonds.

The Company is aware that negotiations in Khartoum between representatives of
the Government of Southern Sudan and the Northern Government, with regard to oil
exploration and production issues in Southern Sudan, have been concluded. It is
understood that the Government of Southern Sudan is involved in continuing
negotiations on a number of other issues and has not yet had the opportunity to
make official comment on the outcome of the negotiations re oil issues.



White Nile's representatives in Juba have been in constant contact with leading
officials of the Government of Southern Sudan, and have been informed that with
regards to Block Ba, White Nile is to be included in a consortium that will
explore and develop the enlarged Block B, which will include White Nile's Block
Ba as well as Block Bb and Bc. It is understood other members in the consortium
will include Total, Kufpec, SudaPet and NilePet, the later two being the
national oil companies of Northern and Southern Sudan respectively.



White Nile is confident that the negotiations have resulted in a positive
outcome for the Company. Its representatives have emphasised that clarity on the
outcome of the negotiations is needed from the Government of Southern Sudan as
soon as possible. They have been informed that an announcement will be made when
the current talks, dealing with issues other than oil, are concluded.

Also ich habe die Kursentwicklung nicht so ganz verstanden heute.
Als ich den Artikel aus der Zeitung gelesen habe dachte ich zu erst das die Meldung nicht gut für den Kurs ist.
Habe dann nur eine Erklärung für den Anstieg. Habe das so verstanden das White Nile entschädigt wird für die bisherigen Sachen die sie angepackt haben.
Oder gab es Spekulationen das sie noch für die restlichen Prozente bieten und ein Vorkaufsrecht haben?

Aber als dann die News über den Ticker kam, habe ich das auch nicht verstanden warum der Kurs dann runter ging.

Die Frage ist jetzt:
Was will der Markt......Das sie Anspruch auf das Gebiet haben oder nicht.

Was denkst Du sonne?

Aber mit dem Schlusskurs von 125 Pence war ich doch zufrieden.
Vielleicht geht es ja morgen wieder weiter rauf und die Zeitungen werden was neues berichten.

Umsatz stimmt die letzten Tage auch.

das macht spaß. Auf Tageshoch geschlossen.
Hoffe auch das es nächste Woche weiter hoch geht.
Damals (im März, glaube ich) haben wir die 140 nicht geschafft.
Vielleicht ein gutes Signal.
Habe vorhin mal geguckt da lagen auf der Geldseite bei 130 über 100.000 Stück.
Kann mir nicht vorstellen das das nur Spekulanten sind.
Vielleicht weiß jemand mehr?

Ich denke auch, dass die Käufer vom angelsächsischen Raume
kommen.

Amerikanische Unternehmen dürfen ja bis auf weiteres keine Investitionen im Sudan tätigen (Embargo), vielleicht auch daher ein Grund,
warum einige "indirekt" über WNL ihre Investitionen im Sudan
tätigen....

Wer sonst soll den Kaufen, ist halt WNL ist wirklich eine Blackbox!

Mit jeden Pence den White Nile steigt wird dir Aufmerksamkeit von "Zockern" größer und wenn die rein gehen würde das auch nochmal ein deutlichen schub geben, denke ich.
Man konnte gut sehen in den letzten Tagen, das meistens nur 1250 Stück auf der einen oder anderen Seite liegen.
Die Stückzahl 1250 und 2500 scheint auch so eine Art Block zu sein.

Aber sonst ist dieser Wert ja nicht sehr bekannt...mich wundert nur das in Berlin damals eine ZUlassung zur Notierungsaufnahme erfolgt ist. Und seitdem wurde aber nie ein Stück gehandelt.
Habe schon mal überlegt eine Aktie ohne Limit nach Berlin zu geben. Zwar sind die Gbühren dafür im Verhältniss teuer aber was der Makler wohl machen würde?

It is understood that the divisions in the consortium will be as follows: Total 35%, White Nile 25%, the Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Co 20%, SudaPet 10% and NilePet 10%, the latter two being the national oil companies of Northern and Southern Sudan respectively.



White Nile representatives are seeking further clarity on the situation and the Company will update the market once this has been provided.

Zuerst über 130 pence, dann wieder unter 100 pence.
Bin am Ende mit der SK von 119 Pence zufrieden.

Was hälst Du von den News sonne?

Ich finde die gar nicht so schlecht.
25 Prozent sind okay....besser als 15 zumindestens.

Aber dem Kurs hat es nicht viel gebracht.
Denke das wenige das Beurteilen können ob das gut ist für White Nile oder nicht.

Der Umsatz heute war einer der stärksten die es bisher gab.

wie Du an den Kursbewegungen siehst, ist sehr sehr viel
Spekulation im Titel +/-% wie Du selber schreibst.

Nun, die News - falls Sie definitiv - bestätigt werden sind
ganz ok für WNL (25%-Anteil) und mit Sicherheit werden wir dann höhere Kurse sehen.

Aber, was sagen die anderen involvierten? Ich denke da im Speziellen an TOTAL? Dies wissen wir zur Zeit noch nicht.

Auf jeden Falle bleiben die nächsten Tage/Wochen interessant.

Kurs kam von unter 100 (bevor das Anouncement kam).

LONDON, Mar 3, 2005 (Dow Jones) — U.K.-based oil-exploration company White Nile Ltd. ( WNL.LN) is to give a substantial stake in the company to South Sudan’s autonomous authorities in the wake of an agreement on exploration rights.

Chief Executive Phil Edmonds, in an interview with Dow Jones Newswires, referred to White Nile’s agreement last month with the South Sudanese government to acquire a 60% interest in the 67,500-square-kilometer ’Block Ba’.

Edmonds said that after the deal, the South Sudanese government is to take a " substantial" stake in White Nile, via its national oil company Nile Petroleum Ltd.

"These assets belong to Africans. Why not help them benefit from capital markets?" Edmonds said.

Edmonds also said he and other White Nile founder Andrew Groves are in talks with other African governments regarding similar kinds of deals.

A person close to White Nile Thursday separately said full details of the South Sudanese deal should be released Friday.

The block was previously held by France’s Total SA (TOT), which is disputing the legality of White Nile’s deal to acquire a 60% interest.

A person familiar with the deal said Nile Petroleum would get 50% of White Nile.

Nile Petroleum’s holding in U.K.-listed White Nile would be the first time an African national oil company had a market listing, albeit indirect, on a major international stock exchange.

Industry experts said other African national oil companies could seek out stock-exchange listings to gain financing and lift competitive pressure against international oil majors.

A London-based analyst said Sonatrach (SON.YY), Algeria’s national oil-and-gas company, and Sonangol EP, its Angolan peer, would fit the profile for a possible listing, as they need to finance their global ambitions.

He said these two companies hypothetically may decide to float only their international operations, to avoid scrutiny of their country’s most-prized national asset.

Sonangol and Sonatrach couldn’t be reached for comment.

One industry expert said: "National oil companies will increasingly compete globally with major oil companies, but they need the money for it."

Sonangol especially would be in a position to tap international markets, according to an industry source familiar with the company. "They are highly respected. They pay their debt in time and trade their oil properly in Houston and London," the person said.

Last August Sonangol raised $2.25 billion in a structured loan with international banks, the largest-ever oil-backed financing.

The transaction was underwritten by a number of large, foreign banks including Barclays PLC (BCS), Commerzbank AG (CBK.XE) and Deutsche Bank AG (DB).

Das Positive daran ist, dass alle gezeichnet wurden. Also, müssen einige immer noch sehr bullisch sein, dass WNL kein Flop wird....

White Nile Ltd, the AIM traded oil and gas exploration company, has raised £18
million through the issue of 18,000,000 new ordinary shares of 0.1p each at
£1.00 per share. The proceeds of the placing, conducted with existing as well as
new institutional investors, will be utilised to fund the development of the
Company's operations in Southern Sudan and Ethiopia, as well as to develop its
activities within the region as a whole.

Application will be made today for the new shares to trade on AIM and it is
expected that dealings in these shares will commence on 21 June 2007. The new
ordinary shares will rank pari passu in all respects with the existing shares in
issue.

New oil platforms are constructed, Saturday, Dec. 17, 2005 near Kotch in southern Sudan (ap)The French company said its rights had been confirmed by the government and its U.K. rival said it would participate in the consortium that develops the acreage. In a statement, the U.K.’s White Nile said that it had been included in a consortium to develop the concession.

But a spokesman for French oil major Total immediately said "it is not our wish" to partner with White Nile.

White Nile’s shares fell under 100 pence in mid-afternoon trade as the news started to surface but recovered to 119p, still down 6.75p, or 5.4%, at market close. Total’s shares closed up 3.6%, or EUR2.03, at EUR58.

White Nile surfaced on the radar screen of the oil industry in February 2005 when the London listed, tiny company announced an agreement with the autonomous government of South Sudan to acquire a 60% stake in Block Ba in the Muglad basin.

Block Ba covers a 67,500 square kilometers area and is part of the larger Block B, a 110,000 square kilometers block about 5% of Sudan’s area.

At the time, the deal was denounced by Sudan’s central government and by Total which, in December 2004, had renewed a contract on the acreage it abandoned in the 1980s because of the civil war. Total later launched a legal action in London seeking disclosures on the White Nile deal.

The controversy had come to symbolize the rising uncertainty faced by oil majors in volatile parts of the world.

The decision to settle the dispute had been put in the hands of a joint commission between South Sudan and the central government. But the While Nile announcement suggests a compromise may have been reached.

White Nile said it "has been informed that it is to be included in a consortium that will explore and develop the enlarged Block B, which will include Block Ba" it was awarded by South Sudan in 2005. Block B also includes Blocks Bb and Bc.

White Nile said "it is understood that the divisions in the consortium will be as follows: Total 35%; White Nile 25%; the Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Co., 20%; SudaPet 10%; and NilePet 10%; the latter two being the national oil companies of Northern and Southern Sudan respectively."

The Kuwaiti company and Sudapet were already shareholders in Block B under the Total concession.

Hallo Scheich,

ich denke auch das die 100 pence halten werden. Ich glaube auch,
dass da einige wieder mehr wissen - denn wer zeichnet schon
zu 100 pence Aktien (Total 18 Mio Pfund), wenn er damit rechnen
muss, dass WNL im Sudan lehr ausgehen wird.....

July 3, 2007 (KHARTOUM) — The two partners of the government of national unity have agreed to maintain the French Total in the concession of oil exploration in Block 5, a press report said today.

According to the pro-Sudanese ruling party Sudanese Media Centre (SMC), Sudan’s National Petroleum Commission has decided to not absorb the British While Nile oil company in the oil consortium working in Block 5.

The decision to exclude the White Nile was taken at the last meeting of the oil commission, and after receiving the joint partisan committee’s recommendations, along with the option to appoint a new company (whether White Nile or other) instead of the previous company (Marathon) on a commercial basis.

The US based Marathon Oil Corp. which is Total’s partner in Block B, announced its withdrawal from the consortium as it is bound by US laws that prevent firms from doing business in Sudan.

According to the SMC, It also decided on an adequate and fair compensation for the White Nile in return for any achievement in the fields, but it didn’t give any indication on who will pay the indemnities.

On June 14, Mansour Khalid, a presidential advisor from the SPLM, said in a press statement reported by Bloomberg that the oil commission has ruled in favour of the French Total and validated its contract. He further indicated that White Nile would not be included in the consortium.

However, and in spite of different reports in this direction, the White Nile stated that it had been advised not only that it would be part of any new consortium formed to prospect for oil in Block B, but also that it would have a 25% stake.

At the end of last May, Salva Kiir ordered a freeze on oil exploration in Jonglei state. Kiir also formed a committee to investigate the contract of White Nile oil company, headed by ex-England cricketer Phil Edmonds.

Total has operating rights for the block with a 32.5 percent stake, as it was the case in the initial deal, Kuwaiti Kufpec Sudan Ltd 27.5 percent instead of 25% and state-owned Sudapet maintains its 10 percent, the southern Sudan government owned Nilepet 10%. The remaining 20% should be offered in a public bid.

The Company’s area of interest is in Southern Ethiopia in the area known as the Southern Rift Basins. As part of the exploration programme, ground geophysical surveys, including magneto-tellurics and gravity, have now been completed in the Omo River area to the north of Lake Turkana. This data is being used to determine basin disposition and depth in this critical area of interference between three proven petroliferous basin trends known as the Turkana Depression. Early results of the interpretation are encouraging and have revealed deep basins, potentially containing sedimentary section similar to that of the petroliferous Muglad and Melut Basins of Southern Sudan.



The next stage in the development of the Company’s Ethiopian project is to finalise the interpretation of the data collected, which will identifying the areas that White Nile wishes to translate into a PSA. Following this the Company will design a reconnaissance 2D seismic programme to identify drill targets.



Additionally, White Nile would like to update the market on developments in Southern Sudan in relation to Block Ba. Company Chairman Phil Edmonds recently returned from a meeting in Juba, the capital of Southern Sudan, where he met with the Vice President of the Government of Southern Sudan (“GOSS”), Dr Riek Machar, and Paul Mayom, the Minister of Interior and Chairman of Nile Petroleum Corp (“NilePet”), the Government of Southern Sudan’s state owned petroleum company. Both the Vice President and the Chairman of Nilepet were members of the Joint Executive Committee of Northern and Southern Sudanese representatives recently convened to discuss oil and other issues in Sudan as a whole. Both men confirmed the proposed formation of a new oil consortium with regard to Block B in Southern Sudan comprising NilePet, White Nile, Total SA, Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Company and Sudan National Petroleum Corporation (“SudaPet”), the state owned oil company of northern Sudan.



NilePet is White Nile’s largest shareholder with 155 million shares and has two representatives on the Company’s board. Its chairman has requested that a White Nile board meeting be convened in Juba at the earliest opportunity, followed by a meeting with NilePet to discuss matters relating to further strengthening the relationship between NilePet and White Nile. One item on the agenda will be the fast tracking of the strategy of the two parties to work more closely to create an oil company focussed on Southern Sudan and the immediate region.



White Nile Chairman Phil Edmonds said, “Exploration in Ethiopia is part of White Nile’s strategy of building a regional oil company focussed on Southern Sudan and neighbouring countries. These recent results are encouraging and the geological similarities with White Nile’s areas of activity in Southern Sudan are increasing our levels of confidence in the prospectivity of our project area in Ethiopia.

But reports from Khartoum denied such deal.

The Sudan’s National Oil Commission has pulled out the White Nile from oil consortium working in Block 5 in a meeting held last June. The Commission is co-chaired by the Sudanese president Omer al-Bashir and the First Vice President and president of the Southern Sudan government Salva Kiir.

Kiir had also, ordered the White Nile to freeze oil exploration in Jonglei state, last May, and formed committee to investigate the contract of White Nile oil company, headed by ex-England cricketer Phil Edmonds.

The Directors of White Nile Ltd, the AIM listed oil and gas exploration company, would like to comment on recent developments with regards to its oil exploration concession Block Ba in Southern Sudan.



The Company is again seeking clarification of its position regarding Block Ba. As reported yesterday, Chairman Phil Edmonds last week met with the Vice President of the Government of Southern Sudan (“GOSS”), Dr Riek Machar, and Paul Mayom, the Minister of Interior and Chairman of Nile Petroleum Corp (“NilePet”), the Government of Southern Sudan’s state owned petroleum company. Both the Vice President and the Chairman of NilePet were members of the Joint Executive Committee of Northern and Southern Sudanese representatives recently convened to discuss oil and other issues in Sudan as a whole. Both confirmed to Mr Edmonds the proposed formation of a newly formed oil consortium with regard to Block B as a whole in Southern Sudan and the participation of NilePet and White Nile therein, together with Total SA, Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Company and Sudan National Petroleum Corporation, the state owned oil company of northern Sudan.



White Nile has today been made aware of resolutions of the National Petroleum Commission (‘NPC’) apparently signed by the Co Chairmen of the NPC on 17 June 2007. This document contains a reference to Resolution No (7), 2007 which reads, “The pulling out of the British White Nile Co from Block B and its removal from entering as partner by purchasing the share of Marathon Co. refrained from the Block.” Furthermore, Resolution No (8), 2007 reads “Assignment to the rapporteur of NPC and MEM to assess the assets of British White Nile Co. in Block (B) and Ascom Co. in Block (5B) for settlement and to submit a report to NPC.” The Board of White Nile has had no official indication of these resolutions and is contacting government figures in Southern Sudan to account for this new information and clarify the situation.



White Nile is taking all appropriate steps to protect its licence agreement awarded by NilePet. Its 60% rights to Block Ba were granted in April 2005 with NilePet retaining the rights over the remaining 40%. The Board of White Nile was assured by the GOSS that NilePet possessed the legal title for Block Ba as all non producing oil concessions were placed under NilePet’s control in August 2004.



As a result of this agreement and in reliance on assurances from GOSS, the Company has undertaken an extensive exploration programme including seismic operations and identified a number of drill targets, the first of which was being drilled at Kedelai in Block Ba, 200 km due north of Juba, in the Jonglei State of Southern Sudan. Extensive community projects have also been initiated underlying the Company’s commitment to the People of Southern Sudan.



The Board retains its belief that the Company’s licence remains legally binding. It is seeking urgent meetings with the GOSS to clarify the situation.

Habe so gegen 13 Uhr eine News bekommen, das White Nile zurücktreten soll von seinem Recht oder so. Hoffe habe es richtig verstanden.
Der Kurs ging daraufhin auf 95 Pence zurück.....dann kam nochmal eine Update rüber das White Nile das vorher nicht wusste und sie ja auch 18 Millionen (?) schon investiert hat.
Daraufhin ging der Kurs wieder über 100.
Bin jetzt zu Hause und sehe dieses Kursrutsch.
Waren ja schon deutlich tiefer als 90 Pence...

Hallo Scheich,

ja, hätte mir den Wochenausklang auch anders gewünscht.

Das erste Mal, dass sie bestätigen, dass sie KEINE Rechte haben gem$ss den neuen Verhandlungen. Nun, wie in der Vergangenheit, pocht WNL jedoch auf die Rechte (wenigstens teilweise).

Ob die News vom Morgen - über Ethiopia - wohl ein Zufall war (Zeitpunkt der Veröffentlichung). Mit diesen News - welche eigentlich possitiv sind - wollte WNL vielleicht von den schlechten News am Nachmittag abklenken......

Nun, das Ganze ist wirklich nichts für schwache Nerven und wie schon früher oftmals erwähnt sehr sehr spekulativ.

Langsam aber sicher ist für mich die Sache gegessen. Mal schauen was die nächste Woche noch bringen wird. Entweder mit "wenig" Verlust raus oder dann halt abwarten und schauen wohin die Reise geht. Weiss es momentan wirklich nicht was ich machen soll.....

Jetzt müssen halt meine anderen Titel laufen.....

Naja, sollte wohl so kommen.

Aber die Hoffnung stirbt zuletzt.

Sudan asks Britain’s White Nile to leave oil block

July 6, 2007 (JUBA) — Sudan has asked Britain’s White Nile Plc to withdraw from a disputed oil block in the south and will assess compensation to the firm, south Sudan’s industry minister said on Friday.

"White Nile is to pull out from Block B, and its properties will have to be assessed by a technical committee appointed by the ministry of energy and mining to be refunded," Albino Akol Akol told Reuters.

White Nile Ltd said it "has had no official indication of these resolutions and is contacting government figures in Southern Sudan to account for this new information and clarify the situation" regarding Block Ba in Southern Sudan.

In its resolution of June 17, the National Petroleum Commission stated : "The pulling out of the British White Nile Co from Block B and its removal from entering as partner by purchasing the share of Marathon Co. refrained from the Block."

White Nile shares fell 17p, or 16 per cent, to 90p, after the company admitted its pull out by the Sudanese authorities.

The block was disputed between French oil giant Total SA and the British exploration company, which is 50 percent owned by the semi-autonomous south Sudan government oil company Nilepet.

Total had taken the dispute to a British court.

But the decision to ask White Nile to withdraw was made by the Sudanese National Petroleum Commission which under a north-south peace deal has authority to assign oil contracts.

Akol is a member of that commission. He said the exact consortium percentages of Block B were as yet unclear, but the south’s state oil company Nilepet and the northern state company Sudapet would each have a 10 percent share.

"So the percentages of the consortium will have to change," said Akol.

Total originally had 32.5 percent, as did U.S. Marathon Oil Corp . Kuwaitis had 25 percent and Sudapet 10 percent.

Marathon, because of U.S. sanctions, had pulled out of the block, Akol added. He said a replacement company was still to be found, but that White Nile was out of the running.

South Sudan’s semi-autonomous government had allowed exploratory drilling by White Nile in areas already claimed by Total, which says it signed with Khartoum before a 2005 peace deal ended more than two decades of north-south civil war.

Most of Sudan’s oil lies in the landlocked south, although refineries and pipelines are in the north.

White Nile started drilling its first well in its disputed 67,000 square km (25,870 sq mile) concession in the swampy Jonglei state earlier this year.

Its block, Block Ba, was part of a larger concession, Block B previously assigned to the Total-led consortium by the Khartoum government.

White Nile had estimated that it had three to five billion barrels of oil in its Block Ba concession, but that it would take four years before the oil would start to flow.

South Sudan’s Vice President Riek Machar had said White Nile would work together with Total in the block.

ja momentan sehe ich auch nicht viel mehr als das. Auch wenn Die Entschädigung ein paar Millionen USD sein werden, dies rechtfertigt den aktuellen Börsenkurs nicht mehr. Der Kurs dürfte morgen signifikant tiefer eröffnen.....

Hey Sonne,

mit dem Schlusskurs von 85 Pence, kann man noch zufrieden sein, denke ich.
Zum Glück haben sie sich gut von den Tiefs gelöst.
Die Frage bleibt jetzt nur ob das noch einigermaßen gute Ausstiegschancen sind oder der Große Abverkauf erstmal vorbei ist und jetzt erstmal gewartet wird bis ein offizielles Urteil verkündet wird.

gestern ging es wieder bis auf fast 60p runter bevor der
Kurs gegen Ende des Tages auf 85 hochgezogen wurde. In Amerika
bei hohem Volumina wieder 15% runter.
Müsste eigentlich heute in London bei ca 70p eröffnen.

bin auch noch dabei - wie Du siehst an meiner geschriebenen Uhrzeit - dieser Titel lässt mir kaum Ruhe zu schlafen.....

Rauf und runter, schon bald mehr Volumen in diesem Jahr als die
letzten zwei Jahre zusammen.

ja habe mich schon gewundert das Du so früh/spät was geschrieben hast.

Heute war ja mal wieder ein starkes Volumen.
Das erste mal das es in in paar Tage am Stück soviele Stücke umgehen.

war Do/Fr in London - gestern und heute habe ich das herrliche
Sommerwetter am Zürichsee genossen - gibt noch anderes als
nur Börse hihihihi......

Nun, so wie es aussieht ist der Wiederstand bei 70p sehr gross.
Ich denke bis wirklich auch von WNL das bestätigte Statement kommt, könnte der Kurs in dieser Gegend halten.

Aber immer noch very very risky!

Der Kurs scheint sich auf dem jetzigen Niveau einzupendeln.
Bin der Meinung vorhin mal gesehen zu haben, das bei 75 pence über 300.000 Stück auf der Brief Seite lagen.
Hoffe mal schnell die verschwinden schnell wieder oder jemand kauft sie weg.

denke auch der Kurs pendelt zwischen 70-75 pence ein.
So, noch eine Woche arbeiten, dann geht es für 14 Tagen in
den Urlaub. Börse geht auch ohne mich, aber ich ohne Börse/Kurse ???

vielleicht kommt ja noch mal eine gute News bevor Du in den Urlaub fährst.

Heute endlich mal wieder ein Trade zu 75 Pence.
Hoffe mal das am Montag nochmal ein paar Stücke zu 75 weggehen und wir dann drüber gehen.
Könnte mir vorstellen das wenn die 75 genommen wird wir wieder auf 80-85 Pence gehen könnten.
Und dann würde nur eine Positive News wieder Kurse um die 100 bringen. So sehe ich das.

Wenn White Nile nichts mehr in dem Block im Sudan machen darf wird doch eine Entschädigung fällig, oder wie siehst Du das?

Ich denke das es nur noch darum geht. Aber wenn die gut ausfällt, könnte es der Aktie helfen wieder zu steigen.

Gestern war ja mal wieder ein guter Tag für White Nile.
75 pence ist ein guter Kurs....zumal am Ende mal wieder gräße Stückzahlen gehandelt wurden, hoffe jetzt das der Weg bis 80 pence wieder frei ist.

August 3, 2007 (KHARTOUM) — Sudan has strong potential for oil exploration and expansion but big European players will be reluctant to invest for fear of pressure from groups advocating divestment because of violence in its Darfur region.

This has left the door open to Chinese firms, less sensitive to shareholder opinion, whose country is hungry for energy.

European caution is unlikely to change given the high profile of the rape and killing in Sudan’s remote west, which international experts estimate has claimed 200,000 lives.

Sudan, emerging from decades of civil war, produces around 500,000 barrels per day of crude, mostly the sweet refinery grade Nile Blend and the more acidic Dar Blend.

Most of the oil lies in the south, scene of a bitter civil conflict for all but 11 years since independence in 1956.

However, as the former foes in Sudan signed a north-south peace deal in January 2005, a conflict was fully under way in the western Darfur region, which Washington branded genocide.

European powers are reluctant to use the term, which Khartoum rejects.

Lack of progress on Darfur and backsliding on the southern deal prompted the United States in May to strengthen sanctions it had placed on Sudan in 1997, which most analysts say have not affected the oil industry, except for banking administration.

Analysts say Sudan has instead looked east to Asia for investment, a policy that is unlikely to change.

"If you look at production, it’s not affected production," said Christopher Brown, Sudan analyst from Wood Mackenzie.

The only major Western operator in Sudan, France’s Total , has been kept from starting work by a long-dispute on ownership rights to its Block B. A small British firm had been drilling until the government ruled in favour of Total.
"There are no Western operators, other than Total SA, which has not started yet," Brown said.

DIVESTMENT CAMPAIGN

While the sanctions are not directed against European companies, many fear reprisals from lobby groups that have waged an effective Sudan divestment campaign in the last few years.

"The European players would be worried about reputational risks," said O.B. Sisay, deputy Africa analyst from Exclusive Analysis.

The Sudan Divestment Taskforce, http://www.sudandivestment.org, has pressed U.S. universities and even large funds and financial institutions to divest from companies with interests in Sudan, in what activists say is the largest movement since the anti-apartheid campaign.

Sisay said the Darfur war activists were influential.

"The pressure groups could create serious risks for the companies...which leaves a lot of space for Chinese companies."

Top state-owned firm Chinese National Petroleum Corp. (CNPC) has major interests in eight of Sudan’s oil blocks, as well as owning 50 percent of Sudan’s largest refinery and partnering oil pipeline construction.

Malaysia’s state-owned Petronas [PETR.UL] and India’s ONGC have invested heavily in recent years as Western companies left.

Analysts said there was good growth potential in Sudan’s oil industry, which has remained opaque for years because of its role in the north-south civil war and associated rights abuses.

With the peace deal, new areas for exploration were opening.

Sudan’s oil blocks total an area of around 1 million square km (386,100 sq miles), with only a small area so far drilled.

The full extent of its oil reserves are unclear but BP’s Statistical Review of World Energy in 2007 put Sudan’s proved reserves at 6.4 billion barrels, the fifth largest in Africa.

"As the country becomes explored more there is a huge possibility...and huge potential," Sisay said.

Wood Mackenzie’s Brown said exploration was relatively cheap in Sudan so even as current oil fields slow down, the country could make new finds to sustain production.

"We expect production to rise to somewhere in the region of 700,000 barrels per day over the next couple of years and then probably decline unless they make new finds," he said.

"They are exploring at a high rate so they may be able to sustain that."

But one source close to oil production in Sudan said the government was overpumping its Nile Blend and Dar Blend, to get as much revenue as possible ahead of a southern Sudanese vote on independence in 2011.

"They want to get out as much as possible before the south goes its own way," the source told Reuters.

Sisay at Exclusive Analysis said a return to war, which some observers say is possible, would be more of a threat to investors than any separation.

But he said Sudanese oil would become more important in global markets, as there is a supply crunch with production problems in Nigeria and the Middle East.

"As China, Brazil and India increase in their demand, Sudanese oil will be key," he said.

Gibt es noch Hoffnungen, dass WNL doch noch ein %-Anteil erhält?

Gemäss Mitteilungen sind die Chefs von den Verhandlungen zurück.

Wenn man die Volumen der letzten Tage sieht, kann noch spekuliert
werden.....

Falls NICHTS herausgesprungen ist, wird sich der Kurs nochmals halbieren....diese hoffe ich überhaupt nicht!

Tut sich momentan nicht mehr viel - Kurs zwischen
77-83 pence.
Abwarten....

Scheich, was meinst Du, wie geht es an den Börsen generell
weiter. Ich gehöre da eher zu den Pessimistischen. Die Hypo-Krise
wird noch lange nicht vorbei sein und bestimmt Auswirkungen auf
die anderen Wirtschaftszweige haben. Habe mir zur Sicherheit
einige PUT's auf den Index gekauft. Einfach zur Absicherung meines
Depot's, denn mich trennen von meinen Titeln mag ich nun wirklich
auch nicht....

denke auch das es mit den Märkten weiter runtergehen wird.
Habe leider kein Geld mehr für Puts..habe dieses Jahr fast alles verloren. Habe neben White Nile auch noch Aquila und die werden die letzten Tage geschlachtet. Habe dort nicht mit SL gearbeitet.
Jetzt ist das Geld dort fast weg. Dann habe ich noch diese Central African Gold. Die haben sich eigentlich einigermassen gut gehalten. Kam letztens auch eine gute Meldung dann ging es auch mit dem Kurs nach oben, aber jetzt sind sie auch deutlich unter meine Einstandskurs gefallen.

Meine Hoffnung bleibt White Nile und wenn ich hir auch noch pech habe muss ich mich komplett von der Börse zurückziehen.

Hoffe Dein Depot sieht besser aus.

danke für deine ehrlichen Ausführungen.
Kurz: Cool bleiben, irgendwann gehts wieder aufwärts....

Jedoch, dieses Mal gefällt mir das Ganze überhaupt nicht!!!
Zur Zeit wird noch alles schön geredet von den Banker/Staatsmänner,
müssen sie auch, sonst bricht Panik aus.

Das weltweite Finanzsystem ist schon längere Zeit krank und einmal
muss es ja kommen, die Korrektur, Crash ???.
Das Ganze kann sich sehr schnell auf die anderen Wirschaftszweige
ausweiten and dann haben wir die (Abwärts-) Spirale.
Nun, persönlich hoffe ich nicht dass es soweit kommt aber es sieht
wirklich gar nicht gut aus.

Bin schon lange dabei und NUR mit Geld am Markt, dass ich nicht
(kurz-mittelfristig) brauche. Meine Positionen sind auch bald auf
EST oder im Minus - jedoch muss ich sagen, dass ich in den letzten
Jahren immer wieder Gewinne realisiert habe und wo anders eingestiegen bin. Im grossen und ganzen kann ich damit leben aber
wenn's nochmals 10-20% runter gehen wird bei den Bluechips - und dies ist nicht einmal "pessimistisch" ausgedrückt, dann wird es mich bestimmt auch treffen und auch schmerzen.

Grundsätzlich bin ich für steigende Kurse - sonst wäre ich ja nicht
investiert - aber momentan sieht es wirklich sehr gefährlich aus....

Schade das wir nicht mal über 75 Pence schließen.
Der Umsatz war gestern aber schon wieder ganz ordentlich.
Einmal über ´250.000 Stück.
Habe gestern noch was interessantes gelesen.
Vielleicht betrifft es White Nile.
Es wird allerdings nur von einer britischen Firma gesprochen...aber vielleicht ist es White Nile.
Kannst ja mal gucken und sagen was Du davon hälst.

September 19, 2007 (JUBA) — The south Sudan government said on Wednesday that it plans to offer a new oil concession, to be called Block E, that will be formally delineated by a north-south oil commission.

The south’s Industry, Energy and Mining Minister Albino Akol Akol said several oil companies are interested in the concession but the National Petroleum Commission (NPC) will have to approve the block first.

"The block has to be designated and then companies can apply," Akol said.

The NPC is one of many coordination bodies mandated by a 2005 north-south peace deal that ended over two decades of Sudanese civil war, partly fuelled by the discovery of large oil reserves in the south.

Block E stretches over three states and runs next to other concessions already contracted out. All three states will have to be involved in talks before any companies are signed on, Akol said.

"It is stipulated in the (peace) agreement that states have to choose people to negotiate with applying companies," he said.

The NPC will meet within the next three months, and Akol said it was likely that Block E will be put on the table.

He said that privately owned Spanish H Oil, which began negotiations for the block with southern rebels before the peace deal was signed, remained interested. The south Sudan Vice President had previously said H Oil had signed a memorandum of understanding with southern government officials.

"But H Oil is only one of the applicants, they attempted to sign an agreement but they cannot do it without people in the area agreeing and the NPC," Akol said.

Akol said other companies looking to the block include a British firm and Supiri, a southern Sudanese company based in Canada. He added that other companies had expressed interest through Khartoum.

Most of the oil rich areas of the south are tied up in contracts signed with Khartoum which are not re-negotiable, but there are areas close to the Ethiopian border that are still free as well as the land earmarked for Block E, Akol said.

Danke für die Info - habe ich nicht gesehen.
Kann mir gut vorstellen, dass es sich bei der engl. Firma
um WNL handelt. WNL sind die einzigen mir bekannten, welche
einen guten Kontakt im Südsudan haben. Daher scheint es mir
sehr glaubwürdig. Würde mich auch nicht überraschen, wenn sie
den Zuschlag bekommen.
Bestimmt würde dies dem Kurs auf die Sprünge helfen und wieder
Kurse über 100 pence zulassen.
Aber das sind wirklich nur Spekulationen.....

September 25, 2007 (LONDON) — Total SA (TOT) intends to restart seismic and drilling work in south Sudan either late 2007 or early 2008, with a view to start oil production five to six years later, a spokesman for the French oil major said.


TotalTotal is the first large non-state oil company to signal its return to Sudan, which holds one of Africa’s largest proved oil reserves at 6.4 billion barrels.

But the cautious strategy crafted by the French major, which has to engage with U.S. pensions funds and help its U.S. partner Marathon Oil Corp. (MRO) sell its stake, underscores the complexity of producing oil in nations under U.S. sanctions.

After Russia and Iran, Sudan is the latest example of how oil majors are caught between rising global tensions and the need to supply the world’s energy demand.

The Total statement follows a Sudan government decision in June confirming rights on a key south Sudan oil exploration block to Total and its partners.

A large part of the 118,000 square kilometers block, thought to contain significant reserves of oil, had been claimed by tiny U.K. company White Nile Ltd (WNL.LN).

White Nile didn’t return a request for comment Tuesday but said in July it was seeking clarifications over plans by the state to withdraw its license.

Total, which owns 32.5% in the block, explored the area in the 1980s before war made operations impossible.

A Total delegation went to Juba early September and met south Sudan government officials there.

The company will now assess the possible presence of land mines and local humanitarian needs, the Total spokesman said.

A spokesman for Marathon Oil Corp. (MRO) said it intended to sell its 32.5% stake in the block by the end of 2007 because of U.S. sanctions prohibiting investments by U.S. companies in Sudan.

A person familiar with the divestment talks said White Nile was barred by Sudan to buy into the Marathon stake.

The Total spokesman said the company and its partners are in talks with potential buyers, including a company from south Sudan, possibly Nile Petroleum Corporation, which could take 10%.

A new partner will be buying the remaining stake, he added. But as it prepares to return to South Sudan, the company also has to talk to U.S. pension funds, some of which may have to sell their Total stock as a result of its business in the country. Several U.S. states have passed or are debating legislation requiring their pension funds to cut investments in companies doing energy-related work in Sudan, as alarm grows over atrocities committed in Darfur.

Some pension funds are also voluntarily barring investment in companies operating in Sudan when they are not satisfied with their impact on this country’s human rights.

That’s what California Public Employees’ Retirement System, or CalPERS, did with nine companies last year while deciding to retain shares with other groups operating in Sudan by committed to human rights.

Jean-Francois Lassalle, Vice President for Public Affairs at Total’s Exploration & Production unit, said it is in discussions with U.S. pension funds, including CalPERS, on the human rights aspects of the company’s return to Sudan. CalPERS confirmed the discusions and said last month it owns 5.6 million of Total shares valued at $436.5 million. Lassalle said the company is particularly emphasizing that its operations are in South Sudan. The region suffered until recently from a conflict with the central government as Darfur now does.

The company is explaining to funds its plans for economic development in the region, Lassalle said. "Investment is needed if one does not want South Sudan to find itself at risk of war. This is the only way to avoid a future war," he added.

Tja, war nicht viel los in den letzten zwei Wochen - seitwärts
Trend hält an bei WNL. So lange keine News kommen, erwarte ich auch
keine Kurssprünge. Ich persönlich habe wirklich auch keine Ahnung
wie es weitergeht. Auch fehlen mir die Kontakte zur Firma.
Kennst Du vielleicht jemand, der etwas sagen kann?

kenne auch leider keinen der was sagen kann.
Gestern abend schloss White Nile in den USA auf einem Jahrestief und heute in London unter 70 Pence.....wenn das so weiter geht...dann Gute Nacht.

Das ewige warten macht bald kein Spaß mehr. Will auch endlich Klarheit.
Auf der Homepage steht ja auch nicht viel neues.

In den USA und in Kanada habe ich nur mal Urlaub gemacht um abzuschalten....leider daher keine Investmentideen.

Wobei wenn man Geld verdienen will, muss man das genau das Gegenteil machen was ich mache. *g*
Bei mir geht z.Zt. leider alles schief was schief gehen kann.

danke für die News. Eigentlich bin ich mit meinen Investments
zufrieden ausser WNL und noch ein Goldexplorer (sollte aber auch
noch kommen). Bei WNL bin ich nicht mehr überzeugt, habe eben leider - wie Du - keine Infoquelle.
Falls Du noch etwas Geld hast, dann schaue Dir BMC an. Zur Zeit
bei ungefähr Euro 26. Sollten bis Ende Jahr mind. bei 40 stehen und im nächsten Jahr soll die Post richtig abgehen. Hier bin ich
Dick investiert (für meine Verhältnisse) und hier habe ich auch eine Infoquelle....

ja, ging von 27.50 auf 23 Euro runter.
Wie gesagt, sehe Kurse bis Ende Jahr zw. 35-40 und
Ende 08 80-100 Euro. Hier habe ich einen guten Draht
und mache mir daher keine Sorge.

Schaue nächsten Montag rein (QIII Zahlen). Auf diesem Niveau
kannst Du problemlos ein paar hundert Stücke einsammeln

South Sudan to give UK While Nile stake in new oil firm

November 9, 2007 (JUBA, Sudan) — The semi-autonomous government of southern Sudan will give 55 percent of shares in a planned government-owned oil company to White Nile Plc , government officials said on Friday.

The company will take over the part of the block B consortium — mostly held by French Total — which was freed up when U.S. firm Marathon Oil Corp pulled out because of Washington’s sanctions on Sudan, the officials said.

"This company is to take over the 22.5 percent of the Marathon Company," Legal Affairs Minister Michael Makuei said. "(Its shares) should be 55 percent owned by White Nile."

The block has been the subject of a long-running dispute between the French oil giant and the British exploration company, which is 50 percent owned by the southern Sudanese government.

Total had taken the dispute to a British court.

The Sudanese National Petroleum Commission (NPC), which under a 2005 peace deal between northern and southern Sudan has the authority to assign oil deals, said in July White Nile had to leave block B.

The British firm had already begun exploratory work in one section of the concession.

Makuei, speaking to reporters after a meeting between White Nile and southern politicians, including Vice President Riek Machar, said the NPC had asked the south to choose a new company to complete block B’s consortium.

The NPC has the final say on the deal, but Makuei said its consent was a matter of formality. The NPC earlier decided to remove White Nile from Block B and had set up a committee to assess compensation for the company.

Machar said White Nile was an obvious partner for the southern government. "It is an established company ... and it is much easier given that we own half," he said

White Nile board member Edward Lino said that the company has invested around $75 million in the south.

"Of course we are waiting for Total and the rest of the shareholders (in the block’s consortium) to agree," said Lino when asked if White Nile would re-start operations.

Members of the southern government pulled out of the central coalition government last month, saying the northern ruling party of Sudanese President Omar Hassan al-Bashir had not implemented key parts of the 2005 peace agreement.

The north-south war - separate from conflict in Sudan’s Darfur region - claimed the lives of some two million people, while four million were displaced from their homes

Mein Börsenjahr war auch sch....

Und das bei einem so guten DAX verlauf. Blue Chips waren einfach dieses Jahr mehr gefragt.
Aber die Hoffung bei White Nile habe ich noch, wobei ich eigentlich aussteigen will wenn wir unter 52 pence fallen...da ist mein persönliches stop loss.

hoffe aber das vorher gute news kommen, haben wir uns beide verdient.

December 16, 2007 (KHARTOUM) — The Sudanese presidency directed to implement the decisions of the National Petroleum Commission issued on 17 June 2007 related to the disputed oil block B. and enabling Total to resume oil operations in southern Sudan .

The decision was approved by the presidency among a series of decisions, adopted by the six-member committee, related to the implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) and announced on 14 December.

In its resolution of June 17 the National Petroleum Commission, which under the CPA has the authority to assign oil deals stated: "The pulling out of the British White Nile Co from Block B and its removal from entering as partner by purchasing the share of Marathon Co. refrained from the Block." The Sudanese presidency also ordered to direct the governors and the traditional leaderships and the military commanders to facilitate the work of the company.

It further directed to facilitate the work of a commission charged to evaluate the assets of the British company.

Since June the French operators didn’t be authorised to start its activities in the oil block despite the fact that it had announced preparations to begin in December 2007.

However, the new decision of the Sudanese presidency seems as tacit refusal of the proposal presented by the southern Sudan government to integrate White Nile in the Nilepet or a new company to replace it.

The southern Sudan government Legal Affairs Minister Michael Makuei said on November 9, that his government would give 55 percent of shares in a planned government-owned oil company to White Nile.

White Nile board member and SPLM prominent member, Edward Lino, said that the company has invested around $75 million in the south.

The issue of the compensation of the White Nile seems preoccupy the southern Sudan authorities. Actually, it was not clear who will disburse the expenditures of the expelled British company.

Also the French operator many times expressed its rejection for the participation of the White Nile in the consortium. However one of the members of the original consortium, Marathon, because of U.S. sanctions, had pulled out of the block.

Total originally had 32.5 percent, as did U.S. Marathon Oil Corp . Kuwaitis had 25 percent and Sudapet 10 percent.

According to the new agreement, Total has operating rights for the block with a 32.5 percent stake, as it was the case in the initial deal, Kuwaiti Kufpec Sudan Ltd 27.5 percent instead of 25% and state-owned Sudapet maintains its 10 percent, the southern Sudan government owned Nilepet 10%. The remaining 20% should be offered in a public bid.

January 15, 2008 (ADDIS ABABA) – Ethiopian government signed today an agreement with the English oil producer White Nile Ltd agreed today toxplore and develop petroleum in south Ethiopia.

Mines and Energy Minister, Alemayehu Tegenu and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of White Nile Limited, Philippe Edmonds signed the agreement, the official ENA reported.

The agreement is said to enable the company carryout petroleum exploration and development on 29,465 sq. km. The Southern Ethiopian rift basins in the Omo and Chew Bahir areas were considered to be some of the petroleum potential areas in Ethiopia, the Ministry said.

White Nile Ltd. had a joint Study Agreement (JSA) with the Ministry, concluded in August 2007, which allowed both the Ministry and Company to evaluate the petroleum potentials of the areas.

Following a two year dispute with the French Total over an oil concession in Jonglei state, the English oil firm had to stop its operation and leave the area. However, the White Nile is still attempting to associate its self with southern Sudan government or to have another concession.

Hi Scheich, schöne von Dir zu hören.

Bin immer noch dabei, kann ja nur noch besser werden hihihi..
Geht ganz gut. An den Märkten kommts genau so wie ich es mir
gedacht habe. Bin ganz gut im Gewinn - ausser WNL - mit Gold/Silber sowie Rohstoffwerten. Mit Unterbrüchen wird dieser
(Rohstoff-) Trend weiterlaufen, da können die Amis - und bald auch
die EZB - die Zinsen noch soweit senken, dass ändert an der Situation nichts. Ich glaube wir steuern auf eine "Deflation" zu.
Was dass heisst, kann überall nachgelesen werden.

Also, alles in allem schlafe ich recht ruhig.

ja habe mich gut eingelebt. Danke der Nachfrage.
Meine WP Geschäfte sind ins stocken geraten..kein Geld mehr dafür übrig...fast alles verloren. Jetzt kommt es für mich auf White Nile an...liege aber wie Du wahrscheinlich auch weit hinten.
Und dann habe ich noch Aquila....auch ein großer Verlust. Aber die Hoffnung stirbt zuletzt.

Naja, wäre auch zu schön um wahr zu sein.

Bin jetzt auch erstmal für 2 Wochen im Urlaub.

Endlich wieder einmal eine "GUTE" Neuigkeit über WNL. Ich werde
den Titel behalten. In diesem Umfeld mit weiterhin steigenden Oelpreisen und den Forschritten bei WNL glaube ich, dass es nur
noch aufwärts gehen kann mit dem Kurs.....

White Nile to buy PA Energy Africa for $1.8 mln cash plus 3.1 mln shares

LONDON (Thomson Financial) - White Nile Ltd (LSE: WNL.L - news) ., said it has agreed to buy Nigerian oil company PA Energy Africa Ltd. (Advertisement)

(PAEA) for $1.84 million cash plus 3.1 million new shares.

The AIM-listed oil and gas exploration company said PAEA holds service contracts for the development of two marginal fields in Nigeria, the Dawes Island Field in Oil Mining Lease 54 and the Tsekelewu Field in Oil Mining Lease 40.

White Nile chairman Phil Edmonds said the company remains focused on expanding its reach and exploration portfolio and will continue to evaluate other opportunities in Africa
