nun extrem viele davon.

könnte man in einigen Wochen o. Monaten dem fahrenden Zug wieder hinterherrennen. Fazit: durch-
halten!

was da wahscheinlichst ist kannst du dir selber aussuchen.

Keep and sleep....!!

hallo rubycon,

Stay long

Also CMRC hat 3 Probleme:
- FTC
- Schlacht gegen ARBA verloren

Da braucht man sehr gute Nerven!

@eboerse

Hi Isaac
Zu dem Gerücht der Amis bezüglich Venture Kapital, von der CMRC Website
Commerce One Ventures To Accelerate Advances In E-Business Through Strategic Investment
Commerce One Ventures Leverages More Than Six Billion Dollars; Joins Forces With Leading Venture Capital Firms
Pleasanton, California, - July 31, 2000 - Commerce One, Inc. (NASDAQ: CMRC) today announced the formation of Commerce One Ventures, a division of Commerce One, to accelerate global participation in e-business through strategic investments. Commerce One Ventures, which has to date completed five portfolio investments, will target companies that are using the Internet to revolutionize the buying and selling of goods and services and the way businesses transact and interact with their trading communities.
"Commerce One Ventures is taking an active role and making a long-term commitment to always accelerating time to market and development of vertical e-marketplaces and complimentary technologies," said Rob Tarkoff, senior vice president, Corporate Development at Commerce One. "We are combining Commerce One`s experience in delivering superior e-marketplace technology with the expertise and virtually infinite resources of leading venture capital firms that together have more than six billion dollars of capital under management."
Commerce One Ventures, which began operations during the second quarter, has completed portfolio investments in the following organizations: Omnicell.com, provider of end-to-end supply chain management solutions for healthcare facilities; Corio (NASDAQ: CRIO), a leading application service provider (ASP); Simplexis, provider of a complete online purchasing resource for public institutions and their vendors; eScout, a Web-based e-commerce and e-business network for America`s independent businesses and community banks and Restaurantpro.com, provider of customized online procurement and back office services for the foodservice industry.
Commerce One Ventures has joined forces with five venture capital affiliates to launch its first phase of operations, including AC Ventures, the venture capital unit of Andersen Consulting, Canaan Partners, Foundation Capital, Morgan Stanley Dean Witter Private Equity and The Entrepreneur Growth Fund. The total initial capital commitment of the co-investment group is $100 million.
"Commerce One Ventures is well positioned to leverage the exchange expertise and relationships of its parent company to identify startups that meet the emerging needs of e-marketplaces and their participants. As a result, AC Ventures will be able to invest in a broader array of companies in one of its key areas of focus," said Barry Cater, a partner with AC Ventures. "Further, our participation reinforces the strategic alliance that Andersen Consulting already has forged with Commerce One."
The day-to-day portfolio management of Commerce One Ventures is directed by Jeff Smith, formerly vice president of Business Development, who will transition into the role of vice president and general manager of Commerce One Ventures. Commerce One Ventures will operate as the investment arm of Commerce One`s Corporate Development group.
"Commerce One Ventures is a new model for corporate venture investment. We are pooling the financial resources and expertise of multiple venture capital firms, making our ability to fund the acceleration of e-business virtually limitless and unmatchable," said Bill Harding at Morgan Stanley Dean Witter Private Equity. "We look forward to working with Commerce One Ventures and the other venture capital firms to expand the capabilities of e-marketplaces and grow exponentially the participation from buyers, suppliers and Net Market Makers."

E-commerce Solution for the $200 Billion Public Sector and
Federal Market
ARLINGTON, Va. and PLEASANTON, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 1, 2000--
Combined Technologies Provide Single Private and
Public Sector Solution for Both Complex and Simple Procurement
CACI International Inc. (NASDAQ:CACI - news) announced today that it has signed an agreement with Commerce One, Inc. (NASDAQ:CMRC - news),
a leader in global e-commerce solutions for business, to provide a single solution for complex contract management, invoicing, acceptance and receipt, as
well as simpler electronic catalog procurement. This integration combines Commerce One`s Buysite(TM)enterprise software and access to its Global
Trading Web(TM) with CACI`s Comprizon(TM) .Buy electronic purchasing system and electronic invoicing system. The Commerce One partnership is a
key element in CACI`s focus on e-Business as a strategic growth area.
CACI is an expert in the field of complicated procurement, with substantial experience developing complex, high-volume procurement systems for
organizations with thousands of users, such as agencies of the federal government. Commerce One provides its open-architecture BuySite solution and
access to the Global Trading Web network of marketplaces, trading communities and portals to offer economies of scale for buyers and sellers worldwide.
The CACI-Commerce One solution can support both simple and complex procurement activities. The solution handles intricate procurement actions, such
as soliciting and negotiating contracts, through the same interface used for simple procurement, such as buying paper clips from an online catalog of office
supplies. Procurement organizations benefit from streamlined processes and higher productivity, better tracking of total expenditure and lower costs for
overall procurement.
Under the terms of the arrangement, CACI can host Commerce One`s BuySite for any of its worldwide customers. CACI and Commerce One will also
work together to market, implement and sell the combined solution in both the private and public sectors.
``This relationship with CACI extends Commerce One`s efforts in the public sector. We were impressed by the depth and applicability of CACI`s
e-commerce technology across a broad range of markets,`` said Chuck Donchess, executive vice president and chief strategy officer at Commerce One.
Mark Bloom, vice president of CACI`s Web, eCommerce, and Enterprise Systems organization, noted that, ``Both CACI and Commerce One offer strong
e-commerce solutions, and CACI has significant expertise in implementing complex procurement systems. Our combined approach gives clients the best
complex procurement management solution -- Comprizon.Buy -- plus Commerce One`s Global Trading Web for global access and strategic sourcing, and
BuySite portal software for easy Web implementation. This solution is unique because it is capable of serving both private industry and the government
market.``
``The opportunity to work with Commerce One is well tailored to our vision of e-Business,`` said Ken Johnson, president, CACI Inc. ``Our combined
CACI-Commerce One solution fills a need for a better way to handle complex procurement, and to manage a full procurement in both the public and
private sectors. CACI is pleased to be working with Commerce One to continue developing e-Business solutions for the global community.``

habe dies in mehreren boards, unteranderem in amiland gelesen.

Second-quarter results prove that business-to-business e-commerce is real, but they also show investors the growing differences among companies in the sector.
One need only look at the dramatic revenue increases from B2B software providers like Ariba (ARBA:Nasdaq - news), Commerce One (CMRC:Nasdaq - news) and PurchasePro (PPRO:Nasdaq - news) for validation of the concept: Corporate America is making B2B one of its top priorities and is willing to spend money on it.

But B2B outfits that operate electronic marketplaces, where businesses buy and sell supplies and materials over the Internet, showed less-than-stellar results. That`s because connecting companies` computers to those marketplaces so they can talk to one another is still a difficult task to pull off.
So firms like Ventro (VNTR:Nasdaq - news), National Information Consortium (EGOV:Nasdaq - news) and RoweCom (ROWE:Nasdaq - news) disappointed analysts and underscored the fact that before B2B marketplaces can run at full speed, a lot of kinks need to be worked out first.

"Fundamentally, a lot of people had lumped companies that were pursuing the software licensing model in with the exchange models themselves," says Ben Smith, vice president of global high-tech ventures at consultant A.T. Kearney. "As we`re seeing now, those things are clearly quite different."
The Basics
Business-to-business firms, or B2Bs, enable companies to buy and sell goods and services to one another over the Internet. Some firms, like Ariba and Commerce One, are selling software programs that allow companies to trade with one another over the Internet. Others, like Ventro and RoweCom, are launching Web sites where companies can go to buy and sell goods in an online marketplace.
Earlier this year, B2B stocks saw a wild surge upward amid high expectations that B2B, estimated to see $2.7 trillion in trade by 2004, would change the way the world does business. But those stocks quickly came back to earth as investors learned that talking about changing the world and actually changing it are different things.
Second-quarter results underscored that.
"I think the major takeaway from the second quarter`s results is that we are clearly now in the buildout phase. We`re building the infrastructure and laying the pipes," says Jon Ekoniak, B2B analyst at U.S. Bancorp Piper Jaffray. "The players that are laying the pipes, the Aribas, Commerce Ones and PurchasePros had excellent quarters. But the players that need those pipes before they can deliver what they`ve promised to their customers, we`ve seen that they really need that infrastructure before they can bolt on."
Understanding More
Onlookers say this differentiation shows a growing understanding of B2B among investors. And that distinction, even if it`s broad, is critical. It means people are starting to understand some of the different aspects of B2B. That, in turn, suggests that smoke-and-mirrors and "major" announcements in countless press releases won`t be enough to stoke investors` fires anymore. Instead, they`ll look for results.
"The second quarter was important for B2B," says Chris Vroom, an analyst with Credit Suisse First Boston. "It showed the companies with persuasive business models really outperformed and those without them fell short. We think it`s certainly a healthy differentiation. That distinction will continue to be important going forward."
That distinction was most apparent at the online exchanges.
Ventro, for example, which runs online exchanges in the life sciences industries -- that`s lab equipment to you and me -- didn`t sell as much equipment over its site as analysts had expected. They were hoping for about $35 million in goods to move over the company`s sites, while only about $29 million actual did. Ventro blamed that in part on "implementation issues" with its customers. Namely, as Ventro`s CEO David Perry explains, selling the technology to companies that want to conduct business over the Web and actually installing that technology are two different things.
A Tale of Two Concepts
Investors are beginning to differentiate between B2B stocks like Ariba and Ventro.
Most analysts say Ventro`s problems were company-specific. But some of its problems are sure to be felt more broadly: Namely, it`s hard to make all of B2B`s complex computer programs work together.
More Bodies
Smith, the A.T. Kearney consultant, says part of the problem is getting the bodies -- namely consultants -- capable of plugging the stuff in.
"The integration kinds of things, as well as some of the new resources and new skills that are needed to make this stuff tick, a lot of the professional service firms in the industry as a whole, have not been prepared for those demands," Smith said.
That issue was a clear motivator behind software provider Commerce One`s decision to acquire consulting firm AppNet (APNT:Nasdaq - news).
But Ventro illustrated another problem facing B2B: While some marketplaces are independent and neutral of the buyers that participate in them, others have aligned themselves with one side or the other in the marketplace. That can help attract buyers and sellers initially -- to build the all-important liquidity that marketplaces hunger for -- but it can also alienate other companies.
"Ventro has really taken it on the chin because they`ve aligned themselves with the distributors," says Vroom of CSFB. (His firm rates Ventro market perform and hasn`t provided underwriting for the company.) "That`s hurt them in realizing the broadest supply base. Some suppliers won`t trade with them."
So for now, it seems that staying with companies doing the heavy lifting in B2B makes the most sense.

Cool bleiben.

YUCHUUUUUUU
und WILL in Plus. Was will man mehr !
