NFS, JAVA.

      @gquell:

However, the conditions have not improved and customers continue to cancel or reschedule backlog. The company now expects revenue to decline 20% to $2.45 billion. Operating margins are expected to drop six to eight percentage points.

To offset the slowdown, TI has started a cost-reduction plan to offset some of the reduced profitability. Some manufacturing facilities are now temporarily idle and others are operating with shortened workweeks. The company has put a freeze on hiring and cut discretionary spending. The company has also lowered its capital spending plans for the year to $2 billion instead of $2.8 billion, but will continue with its strong R&D investment of $1.7 billion.

Durch die geplante Umstrukturierung will Gateway wieder "Back

Barnes & Noble (BKS: news, msgs, alerts) fell more than 5 percent lower after the book seller disclosed plans for a $200 million offering of convertible subordinated notes. The offering could be worth as much as $240 million if the initial purchasers exercise their option in full. Barnes & Noble plans to use the proceeds of the offering to repay debt under its existing senior credit facility.

Computer Associates (CA: news, msgs, alerts) dropped more than 7 percent after the company was downgraded by Analyst Sarah Mattson at Dain Rauscher Wessels. She lowered her rating to "neutral" from "buy," citing market share loss, lackluster mainframe growth and lengthening sales cycle. "Deteriorating economic conditions suggest things could get worse," said Mattson in a research note sent to clients. "While it`s still early in the quarter, Oracle`s preannouncement yesterday highlights the risk."

Duke Energy (DUK: news, msgs, alerts) lost more than 3 percent after the company said it plans to conduct concurrent offerings of 25 million common shares and $500 million worth of its equity units. The company said it would use the proceeds for general corporate purposes, including repayment of short-term debt and investment in its businesses.

Eastman Kodak (EK: news, msgs, alerts) dropped more than 5 percent after the company suspended its buyback program to speed up debt reduction and increase its flexibility with regard to possible acquisition opportunities. The company said the decision doesn`t reflect weak cash flows, which are currently in line with expectations. Eastman said it has been spending roughly $1 million a day on buybacks since Dec. 12, and that it repurchased 10 million shares for $445 million in the fourth quarter.

EbenX (EBNX: news, msgs, alerts) sank more than 12 percent on news that Verizon (VZ: news, msgs, alerts) will end its relationship with the company at the end of 2001. The provider of health and welfare benefit services said it will continue to receive revenue from Verizon through the end of the year, adding that its 2001 financial outlook would not be altered. Revenue increased to $4.6 billion, from $3.9 billion last year. The company warned that it "could see" earnings between 10 and 15 cents a share, while analysts expect 20 cents a share. The full year remains uncertain. See full story.

Greenbrier Companies (GBX: news, msgs, alerts) slid more than 12 percent after the company said it expects to report fiscal second-quarter earnings that are "significantly below" current expectations due to continued industry weakness, anticipation of lower margins and timing differences in revenue recognition. The railcar maker expects the quarter to be approximately breakeven and fiscal year earnings to be 40 to 60 cents per share. Analysts polled by Multex had expected EPS of 34 cents and $1.19, respectively. The company added that layoffs are expected at its TrentonWorks and Gunderson-Concarril facilities, but the number was not disclosed.

Headwaters (HDWR: news, msgs, alerts) dipped more than 6 percent after the Salt Lake City alternative fuels firm said it expects second-quarter earnings of 18 to 19 cents a share, and reaffirmed its fiscal 2001 forecast for a profit of 75 cents.

Inet Technologies (INTI: news, msgs, alerts) plunged more than 43 percent after the company warned investors that revenue and earnings for the first quarter of fiscal 2001 would be lower than expected, due to the economic slowdown on its service provider and equipment manufacturer customers. The company expects revenue between $30 million and $33 million, compared with its previous estimate of $46.5 million to $49 million. Inet expects to report a loss between 1 cent and 2 cents a share compared with its previous estimate of 19 cents to 20 cents a share. Analysts polled by First Call currently expect a profit of 20 cents. The company said the shortfall was due primarily to a drop in demand for its Spectra diagnostic products, and to a lesser extent delays on some of its GeoProbe and IT:seven implementations.

JDS Uniphase (JDSU: news, msgs, alerts) lost more than 9 percent after analyst Jim Liang at WR Hambrecht said he "signficantly" cut revenue and earnings estimates for the fiber-optic components company based on his view that business fundamentals "have significantly deteriorated since that company gave its last business update on Feb. 13." For the current quarter, he cut his revenue estimate to $895 million from $1 billion, and his EPS forecast to 15 cents from 17 cents. He cut his price target to $45 from $60, but maintained his "buy" rating, given his belief that the shares price already discounts the near-term growth deceleration.

Lattice Semiconductor (LSCC: news, msgs, alerts) slipped more than 1 percent after the company warned that it expects revenue in the March quarter to dip 20 percent on a sequential basis. The company attributed the shortfall to a general decline in demand for programmable logic devices with the communications and computing end-markets. Lattice projects earnings before goodwill will fall 25 percent on a sequential basis.

Millipore (MIL: news, msgs, alerts) gave back more than 5 percent after the Bedford, Mass., diversified filter systems firm warned that first-quarter revenue would miss previous expectations due to weakness in the microelectronics industry. The company expects revenue from its microelectronics operations to come in 15 to 25 percent below the fourth-quarter total of $101 million.

      Hi zusammen,
Echt geil
(Container-Sprache) fand ich die Möglichkeit unterwegs Kurse
in Real-Time abzufragen und sogar Charts (Interday,3 Monate usw.)
lesbar zu machen. Ausserdem besteht die Möglichkeit auch Online
      zu handeln !
      @Woernie
