Egal was die amtierender malaysiche Regierung und ihre Behörden wie die AELB zusammen mit den Pro-Lynas Gruppen und der Firma unternimmt um sachlich und faktisch Aufklärung rund um die LAMP für die Bürger ihres Landes so wie der Bevölkerung und den Arbeitern und Angestellten vor Ort unternimmt, die Gegener der LAMP zusammen mit der pol. Opposition werden sich daran nicht beteiligen noch irgendeinen Beitrag leisten und das einfach aus dem Grund weil sie dabei vollkommen unglaubwürdig und ihr gesicht verlieren würden.
Sie werden daher weiter mit allen Mitteln gegen die die Regierung, die LAMP und allen ihren Unterstützer aggieren und jeden Versuch unternehmen das sie nicht ihr Gesicht verlieren, doch IMHO wird ihnen das am Ende alles nichts nützen.

KUALA LUMPUR, March 20 (Bernama) -- The MCA slammed the DAP for being irresponsible for not taking part in the Parliamentary Select Committee (PSC) on Lynas to find a solution to the rare earth issue.

In a statement issued here, the party's deputy publicity chief Loh Seng Kok said it showed that the DAP does not want to convey the views of the people to parliament.

He said the DAP has been objecting to the establishment of the Lynas rare earth refinery and added that its decision not to join the PSC was "simply baffling."

"The DAP has declared that it will not take part in the PSC before any terms of reference are made. This means that DAP has neglected performing any good for the people," he said.

MCA treasurer-general Datuk Seri Tan Chai Ho, in another statement, said the DAP has always criticised the federal government claiming that it does not listen to the people on the issue of the Lynas rare earth plant, but when the Cabinet finally decided to set up a bipartisan PSC, the party simply refused to be a part of it.

"This proves that it has no interest in putting an end to the concerns raised, whereby it merely wants to continue playing up the issue for its own benefit.

"This is DAP's style –- constantly ignoring the government's proposal and making assumptions based on rumours.

"In short, they will oppose everything in the end because they do not want the problems to be resolved, lest they have nothing to use to stir up public emotions," he said.

Lynas, an Australian mineral exploration and chemical processing company, has maintained that waste generated from the refinery plant that is being constructed in Gebeng, Pahang, would not be hazardous and could be recycled for commercial use.

Was vielleicht ein interessantes Detail ist, Siemens hat in direkter Nachbarschaft zum Lamp in Gebeng ein Buero aufgemacht, schon vor einer ganzen Weile.

Aber *natuerlich* hat Siemens direkt mit dem Lamp nix zu tun. :-)

Ich sehe das wie Zopa und Ubacher.

Der Malayianinser ist aber auch nicht bekannt für objektive und seriöse Berichterstattung.

Mein Fazit: Viel Rauch um nix! Lynas soll wieder mal schlecht gemacht werden. Damit leben wir aber schon länger. Lynas muss m.E. auch nicht auf jeden Quatsch, der geschrieben wird, reagieren.

Habe mir ihn gerade mal durchgelesen und sehe den Artikel eigentlich nicht negativ (eher positiv).

Als Kernaussagen würde ich folgendes Festhalten:

* Die geplante Anlage (JV) zwischen Lynas und Siemens hat an sich erstmal nix mit der LAMP zu tun --> Von wegen: Fragt uns (Siemens) doch nix zu Dingen (LAMP), mit denen wir an sich nix zu tun haben

* Die Planungen für das JV scheinen aber weiterhin in vollem Gange zu sein (Standortsuche), auch wenn dort ein "When and if we are going ahead with this..." steht

* “Any plant will have to follow Siemens’ environmental guidelines. This would be a prerequisite and that is a commitment Lynas has given us,” he added.
--> Die geplante JV-Anlage soll also sauber und umweltverträglich sein. Schließlich muss sich Siemens ja nen grünen Anstrich geben. Das ist wahrscheinlich auch ein Grund, warum man vorsichtshalber mal sagt, man hat mit der LAMP direkt nix zu tun, nicht dass möglicherweise doch was umweltgefährliches an der LAMP ist.


Sieht das jemand ähnlich oder gänzlich anders?

Ich sehe das nicht so. Vielmehr will Siemens sich nicht in die Auseinandersetzungen mit der Anti-Lynas-Front 'reinziehen lassen. Ist nicht deren Baustelle und auf schlechte PR kann Siemens verzichten.
Dennoch:

KUALA LUMPUR, March 26 — Engineering giant Siemens today moved to distance itself from Lynas Corp’s controversial rare earth plant in Kuantan, insisting that plans to partner with the Australian miner to make high-powered magnets are unrelated to the RM2.3 billion refinery.

Siemens Malaysia chief executive Prakash Chandran told radio station BFM today the joint-venture “has not been finalised” and more details will only be known at least three months from now.

“This plant has got no link to the existing Lynas plant in Gebeng. Two totally different things,” he told the business station.

Lynas had said in January it has signed a letter of intent with the German powerhouse to embark on a RM500 million joint venture to produce supermagnets for wind turbines, “which logically should be next door” to the refinery.

But Prakash said today the location for such a plant has not been decided as “we are looking at different places in Malaysia.”

“When and if we are going ahead with this... the existing Lynas plant... could supply into this plant,” he added.

Kuantan MP Fuziah Salleh, who has led protests against the Lynas plant, had said in January the presence of the facility that has raised concerns of radiation pollution would deter investors from Pahang.

The PKR vice president specifically named Siemens as a company that would not set up shop beside a rare earth plant.

But Lynas has said that engineering giants such as Siemens and BASF, the world’s largest chemical company, had already signed on to buy rare earth from Lynas, “indirectly confirming that we conform to international environmental standards.”

“Because we conform, they can label their products as green products. The fact they want to enter into a contract with us means they have to do a thorough audit to ensure Lynas is a green supplier,” he said.

But Prakash, who is also Siemens Malaysia president, said today resistance from local residents, environmentalists and the federal opposition were related to “a plant where we are not involved”. He acknowledged, however, that Siemens was doing business with Lynas.

“Any plant will have to follow Siemens’ environmental guidelines. This would be a prerequisite and that is a commitment Lynas has given us,” he added.

Lynas is anticipating a windfall of RM8 billion a year from 2013 onwards from the rare earth metals that are crucial to the manufacture of high-technology products such as smartphones, hybrid cars and bombs.

The government also expects RM2.3 billion in investment spinoffs from the plant, including the RM300 million already poured into two factories in the Gebeng industrial zone that will produce the hydrochloric and sulphuric acids needed to extract rare earth metals.

Hallo Leute,

Will hier keine Panik schüren, aber das Schmutzblatt The Malaysien Insider hat einen Bericht veröffentlicht, das sich Siemens von Lynas distanziert! Ich weiß, ich sollte jetzt den link reinkopieren, kann ich aber nicht! Deshalb zur Info, das es weitere Bombadierungen von Lynas gibt! Vielleicht kann ja auch einer etwas anderes aus dem Bericht heraus interpretieren.
