      JNR/Altius Discover Additional Mineralization

JNR/Altius Discover Additional Mineralization at the Sheffield Lake South Copper Prospect, Topsails Project, Newfoundland

SASKATOON, Dec. 14 /CNW/ - JNR Resources Inc. (TSXV:JNN) (the 'Company') is pleased to announce the following update from the Sheffield Lake South copper (Cu) prospect on its Topsails Uranium/Rare Earth Elements/Copper (U-REE-Cu) project in west-central Newfoundland.

The Topsails project is a 50/50 alliance between the Company and Altius Resources Inc. (jointly the 'Companies') that was established to explore for volcanic-hosted uranium deposits in a defined area of west-central Newfoundland near the mining community of Buchans.

The 2010 exploration program, budgeted at approximately $500,000, is nearing completion. This summer's program focused on the Koorae copper-molybdenum-gold-silver (Cu-Mo-Au-Ag) prospect and five other significant areas (Railway U showing, Sheffield Lake South Cu prospect, Long Range Mountain uranium-rare earth elements-yttrium-zirconium (U-REE-Y-Zr) prospects A and B, and Catcher's Pond Cu prospect).

In 2009, reconnaissance prospecting on the Topsails Project resulted in the discovery of disseminated and vein-hosted Cu, Mo, Pb, and Ag mineralization (+/- Zn, U, and REE enrichment) at Sheffield Lake South, with anomalous Pb and Mo values up to 13.9% and 0.55%, respectively. The Cu (+/- Mo, Pb) mineralization (up to 328 ppm) is hosted by granite, and the Mo and Pb mineralization is hosted predominantly by quartz veining within the altered granite. Outcrop and boulder samples from this area are also radiometrically and geochemically anomalous with respect to other metals; returning up to 0.009% U3O8, 0.21% total rare earth elements (TREE), 0.09% Y, 2.33% Zr, and 3.3 g/t Ag.

In 2010, extensive prospecting of the Sheffield Lake South area was carried out with 47 rock samples collected. The best mineralization in these samples comprises up to 3.9% Mo, 1.9% Pb, 0.36% Cu, and 95.3 g/t Ag; comparable to and confirming the results returned in 2009. A soil sampling survey was also completed over the main prospect area with 104 soil samples collected. Eighteen of these returned anomalous Au values from 20 to 414 ppb (+/- anomalous Mo, Pb), and adds significantly to the polymetallic prospectivity of this area.

As part of the 2011 Topsails exploration program, the Companies are planning more detailed prospecting and geological mapping, additional soil geochemistry surveys and possibly trenching, to further extend the area of the Sheffield Lake South prospect.

JNR is led by a highly experienced management team with proven discovery success in uranium exploration. In addition to its projects in Newfoundland, the Company has an interest in fourteen properties totalling some 340,197 hectares of highly prospective ground in the renowned Athabasca Basin of northern Saskatchewan.

JNR's Director of Exploration, Dr. Irvine R. Annesley, P.Geo., is the qualified person responsible for the technical data presented in this release. All samples were analysed at the Saskatchewan Research Council Laboratory in Saskatoon, an ISO/IEC 17025:2005 accredited facility. All technical information for the Company's exploration projects is obtained and reported under a formal quality assurance and quality control program, details of which are presented on the Company's website at: www.jnrresources.com/i/pdf/JNR-QAQC.pdf. A glossary of the technical terms included in this release can be found on the Company's website at: www.jnrresources.com/s/Glossary.asp.

Sehr positive Entwicklung bei Altius dieses Jahr. Super geführftes Unternehmen mit geringem Risiko und interessanten JV Beteiligungen, gerade auch im Uran Sektor.

      Published 12/2/2010

TER: China has uranium mines. Will it have to import uranium, too?

AD: Oh, absolutely. There simply isn't enough uranium that we know about in China to feed its own demand. It just signed a 20-year contract to buy uranium from Cameco Corp. (NYSE:CCJ; TSX:CCO), and it's making these deals around the world.

With nuclear energy, one component that's a little different from other sources is the plant itself. The largest part of cost from discovery through to output is the capex for building the plant. Relative to other power sources, operating costs tend to be low once you build a nuclear plant. The cost of uranium as a percentage of overall cost of that power for 20 years is extremely low; but, by the same token, a nuclear power plant cannot switch to coal or gas. So, once you've put all those billions of dollars into building a plant, it's critical to get the uranium – at almost any price. I won't say it doesn't matter how much, but it is certainly not a project killer if uranium runs up to $300/lb. The uranium price is far less important than the dependability of supplies.

TER: So, why hasn't the price of uranium gone up?

AD: Well, China's big demand increase for its nuclear plants won't really start until 2015, 2016. India and other countries haven't really started yet. At the same time, we have excess supply now. Kazakhstan, which is acting as a swing producer, has a lot of excess capacity; so it can increase its production relatively easily as the price moves up and pull back if the price goes down. That's the main reason uranium is fairly low. That said, because markets tend to look ahead and discount, I don't think we're going to have to wait until 2015 to see shortages start. In the second half of this decade, we'll see a real supply/demand imbalance. At that point, prices will go up.

TER: Is there enough uranium exploration underway to address that shortage to some extent?

AD: There's a reasonable amount of exploration. Uranium has certain attributes – both real and imagined – that differ markedly from, say, gold or copper. Few people want a uranium mine next door, so it takes a lot longer to get exploration permits. Several current deposits in the U.S. could be mined but they're still in the permitting stage.

Another issue is that exploring for an economic uranium deposit is technically more difficult. With a big open-pit copper operation, you can miss the core of the deposit by half a mile but still mine the deposit. With many uranium deposits, it's a bit like looking for a needle in a haystack – they tend to be extremely rich but very small.

TER: What are some uranium companies you like?

AD: On the exploration side, I like to minimize risk and prefer the simplest, most direct investment with the least downside. But rather than look for a pure-uranium exploration play that may or may not find an economic deposit, and may or may not get the permits even if it finds one, I prefer more broadly diversified explorers that have exposure to uranium. Altius Minerals Corp. (TSX.V:ALS) has two uranium exploration joint ventures (JVs) with other companies. So, if the uranium price goes up sufficiently you'll get the exposure.

TER: What else is Altius invested in?

AD: Gold, iron ore, nickel and uranium are the four main products. It has the large royalty in Voisey's Bay, a gold mine in production in another JV and also phosphates. Everything it does is JV, so it's low risk.

Altius Minerals Corporation (TSX: ALS) Reports Second Quarter Net Earnings of $2,063,000
      12/9/2010 5:50:09 PM - Market Wire

ST. JOHN'S, NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR, Dec 09, 2010 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX News Network) --

Altius Minerals Corporation ("Altius") reported net earnings of $2,063,000 or $0.07 per share for the three months ended October 31, 2010 compared to a net loss of $486,000 or $0.02 per share for the three months ended October 31, 2009. The increase in net earnings from the prior year was the result of higher revenue but primarily from gains on the sale of mining and mineral related investments of $1,309,000 (2009 - $7,000) and a gain recorded on market valuation of warrants of $1,618,000 (2009 - $nil).

Altius recognized total revenue of $1,453,000 for the three months ended October 31, 2010 compared to $1,097,000 for the same period last year. Royalty revenue from the Voisey's Bay nickel-copper-cobalt mine was higher in the current period as a result of higher nickel prices and a slightly higher rate of production at the mine site. The mine is expected to continue to operate at a reduced level until the strike is resolved.

A summary of the unaudited financial results is included in the following table.

Three months ended Six months ended

Highlights of the current quarter exploration results include the continued positive drill results from the 25,000 metre drilling program on the Kamistiatusset ("Kami") iron ore project in western Labrador, Canada. The drill program is being undertaken by Alderon Resources Inc. ("Alderon"), as a condition of an earn-in agreement with Altius. An initial resource estimate is anticipated to be completed by the first quarter of the coming year.

On December 8, 2010, Alderon earned a 100% interest in the Kami iron ore project by meeting all requirements of an option agreement between the companies. To vest this interest, Alderon issued 32,285,006 of its common shares to Altius as per the terms of the agreement, with an approximate market value of $79 million. Altius will also retain a 3% gross sales royalty on any future mining production on the Kami property.

The Corporation's other mineral exploration activities focused on generative exploration work in several regions, including exploration programs for gold, nickel, copper, uranium and iron ore in Newfoundland and Labrador. The Corporation's ongoing goal is to generate a strong pipeline of exploration projects that can attract third party funding agreements consistent with the Corporation's exploration and royalty creation strategy.

Subsequent to quarter-end, the Corporation invested $25 million to co-found a new company with Cranberry Capital Inc. The objective of the new Company is to invest primarily in early stage mineral exploration companies with a goal of capital appreciation. The new company will be managed by Paul van Eeden, who has a successful mining and investment industry track record.
